r/breakcore
it's mind boggling to me that alec empire produced songs like this on an old ATARI computer
and yes, this is why his band was called ATATI teenage riot.
song: nobody gets out alive
Is this song any good?
I just started getting into breakcore and decided to make my own song. do you think it is any good?
I need a mentor in writing breakcore/jungle
I need a mentor in writing breakcore. I'm looking for someone who can explain me some stuff in breakcore/jungle making I am so newbie rn
can we please grow up a bit and change the fucking profile picture to something less embarrassing?
I don't listen to / make breakcore that has anime influences in, but it's been around for most of the time this genre has existed. Hell, I have many thoughts about the "depressive" wave we had, I think it's mostly shite, but come the fuck on, this looks fucking stupid.
If this is the subreddit we're using to expand and introduce the genre to people, I don't want peoples first impression to be a pseudo-edgy cringe as fuck pfp. "ooooo aNiMe DoEsNT BeLoNg iN BWeaKCKORE wE'RE EdGEEEEEEEEEEE" fuuccckkkk offffffff
just change it to the breakcore gives me wood logo. that one logo nearly everyone in breakcore recognises as a symbol for breakcore and leave it.
thanks!
EDIT: Snafu, respectfully please step down and assign someone else. I don't think running a subreddit is for you based on what I've seen in this thread.
EDIT EDIT: I just want to make the important distinction that this is not meant as a personal attack. Rather, frustration that a large and heavily active portion of the community are being sidelined for what is, essentially, ego. Harsh criticism is is going to be expected if that is the case, and it's a shame it's taken this thread to highlight some very important issues. You should be critical of something you love, otherwise you risk becoming delusioned and start to have very unrealistic standards that can never be reached.
To Snafu: I appreciate the work you've put in, but you've dropped the ball quite badly as shown in this thread. I'd recommend—as someone who's run communities before—to add a bunch of new mods and to take a back seat for a while whilst collectively as a community, we figure out what's best for the sub. This can be done very quickly and means you'll still have full control of this sub. It's more so building on the foundations you've laid here over the years for the newer crowd. We're old dude. It's as much their genre as it is ours. Let's find a way to welcome newer people whilst still maintaining breakcores integrity. Happy to have a brief chat in DMs, and I apologise if my words are impassioned. Cheers x
Breakcore with other genres? Like rap or scenecore
Ik some artists like Drumcorps and Igorrr mix metal and breakcore amazingly, Status: Expunged has some uptempo mixed with their breakcore but what are some other fun ideas?
ICP, Dr Dre type rapping in a breakcore song would sound interesting, personally I've been listening to a lot of scenecore/digicore along with some chiptune music like Rebzyyx, Pupsies, Luvwillow, Hoshie Star, and Cuntsniffer. Might try to add some vocals and whatnot similar to those into my new album.
Another thing! Mashup Mashcore, Chiptune mixed with Breakcore like Knifehandchop are also great too!! :D
Please change the sub icon back
I liked it. Fuck anime
Sir. Vixx vs Arcade Trauma - A Study in Breaking Things

First Vinyl

what song is this?
original video posted by DJKurara/pspkurara on twitter, i really like the song but i am unable to find the name of it. help very much appreciated
I'm looking for a musical genre or style that I don't know a name for.
I'm looking for music that is a mixture of jazz and breakcore. The thing is... I'm not into the happy kind of Jazz. I don't want to listen to the cliché Major 7th stuff. (no hate on it, that's simply what I'm NOT trying to find, cause I already know where to look for it). The music I want to find is:
- fast
- odd time signatures and/or polyrhythms / polymeter
- not happy or lounge-ish
- must be atmospheric, sad, deep, dark or eerie.
- heavy focus on the drums, not so much on brass
- may contain electronic elements if it's not too obnoxious
- similar to breakcore or even a blend (like venetian snares "moonglow" or "this bitter earth" or the entire Hungarian titled album (which is more a blend of classical music and breakcore, I know)
- preferably no vocals (may contain samples though)
- may have a lot of amen break :D
- preferably a real drummer
- bonus points for snares off
I know this posts sounds ridiculous and weird, but I'm craving such music and haven't found anything other than venetian snares (I'm a breakcore fan since I was 14 or so). Venetian Snares is one of my favourite artists, but he has only a few tracks that are in this niche. I'd be ultra happy if someone recommended me stuff that matches multiple of the criteria.
Thanks so much in advance.
Breakcore or idm?
maybe I’ll learn which tree to bark up :)
WIP anyhow, mix needs some work
Ignoring the person what’s the general consensus on Shoebills music
Hikikomori days was my first real introduction to Breakcore and is a top 3 album ever for me, but I havent really liked any of his more recent work. Just wondering what the comms opinion on him is.
Breakcore + metal?
I found this the other day and really enjoyed it, does anyone know other artists (except Igorrr - already a huge fan) that mix metal and breakcore in this way?
Midi controller?
