I’m an owner of an s950 and 2000XL(plus a busted s612 that I use with my ax60), and I got a really good deal on an MCF42 from my buddy over in Seoul. I know it was intended to pair with the 2000XL but idk if an analog filter is worth $800. Would love to know any thoughts that yall have, thanks!

Hey guys! Currently I’ve got an almost all digital setup which I really like, but I’ve been interested in an analog poly for a long time. The six trak and multitrak have beautiful sounds, but their programmability could make them pretty tedious. I’m by a screen all the time when making music though so an editor is an option, but I’d prefer to be hands on if that makes sense. The prophet 08 was my second choice, and while it sounds great and has pretty much all the features I’d want, the sound just isn’t quite there. If I’m spending money on something as limited as an analog synth I’d like the sound to be something unique, so I’m just not sure. Basically looking for a second opinion, go for the sound or go for the usability. Other options would be appreciated too, preferably in the 1000 dollar range. Thanks!!!!

I think everything ohm resistance has put out dnb wise has been absolutely gold. Submerged regularly pushes the genre far into breakcore territory but I never see any recognition for him really. Him and Mick Harris(aka scorn aka the napalm death guy) collaborate a lot, they have a track called el topo which is similar to this. Really good shit tho, nice good heavy beats and a break from the 2000s drill and idm heavy stuff. He’s kinda like if panacea and Enduser had a kid and gave him a rat pedal

I wanted to share something quick I put together today while practicing transitions between patterns. Nothing polished, just an idea in progress.
The goal was to move from a darker section into something a bit more optimistic, with a blend of melodic house and post-rock influences (still a work in progress). I'm still getting familiar with a few recent changes to my setup, but I thought this little sketch was worth sharing.

Hey guys! I’m seeing the prices of the mk2 go down on reverb quite a bit, and at now under 1000 sometimes it’s seeming really tempting. My setup is pretty simple, I’ve got a virus TI a digitone 2 a sequential six trak and an octatrack but that’s mostly for DJ sets. I’ve got plugins too ofc but mostly I’ll just work with samples(renoise is the goat!) and my hardware instruments. However as a percussion lover the rytm has always sounded so dope, it’s got thick meaty sounds I really can’t get out of my Digitone or soft synths. For the current price point do you guys think it’d be worth it? Thanks!!!
Finally got my little music corner organized and thought I’d share it with fellow Roland fans.
The Roland side of the shelf includes an S-1, J-6, P-6, and an MPC Sample for sequencing and chopping. They’re surrounded by a few Korg Volcas, a Behringer Phara-O / LUMI keyboard, and some other compact gear that keeps the workflow fun.
Lately I’ve been surprised by how much mileage I’m getting from the S-1—tiny box, huge sound.
Always interested in hearing how others are integrating their AIRA Compact gear into larger setups. What’s your favorite Roland device in the current lineup?
Bonus points if you can spot all the Volcas hiding on the shelf. 😄
I already love the current sounds, it’s definitely one of my favorite synths ever, but I feel like it could be just that much better if it allowed custom wavetables or at least a bigger selection. The wavetone engine especially, but it would be so fucking cool if the other engines got it too. I know the tonverk has more fleshed out engines, and given elektrons history of dividing up the features I’m not too hopeful, but it could be really really cool. Thoughts?
Personally I love the opening to west side horizons by despise you, Culpa Mia. Absolutely brutal breakdown into a normal hardcore beat then blastbeat then brutal finishing breakdown with those guttural vocals. What a fantastic fucking track, sets the tone so great
