Community Poll on Nightmare Difficulty

#edit: If you play on other platforms just pick "I haven't played since the update" Sorry I was too focused on the PC players.

There's been a lot of discussion about Nightmare Difficulty. I thought it would be nice for the Devs to have an idea about how Nightmare Difficulty was received.

Please answer what is the closest to your experience.

I've tried my best to capture the different opinions in the 6 options I'm allowed.

I'll link the results to the Devs

You're also welcome to write your experience with nightmare difficulty here, or to suggest specific things you should be changed.

A Few Basic Questions

I've put quite a lot of hours into the game and even cleared some Nightmare runs, but I realized there are still a lot of basic mechanics I don't really understand that would probably help me play better.

I'd really appreciate it if you could help fill in some of these knowledge gaps.

  1. Is there a point where it's no longer worth taking flat damage and it's better to prioritize % Damage because it becomes more efficient?
  2. Is there a point where Life Steal stops being worth taking? The description says it's capped at 10 HP per second, and it feels like against large groups you can hit that cap even with fairly low Life Steal, making additional investment pointless.
  3. How much Harvesting should you aim for in the early waves for it to have a noticeable impact on your economy later in the run?
  4. How much Luck is generally considered "enough"? Looking at the numbers on the wiki, every increase seems pretty minor, so it's hard to tell when it's actually worth investing in.
  5. At what point should you stop taking Armor? Since each additional point gives diminishing returns, is there a generally accepted sweet spot?
  6. How exactly does Piercing work with the Slingshot and the Shuriken? Does the projectile ricochet first and then pierce, or does it pierce first and then ricochet?
  7. How does Burn work when multiple burn effects are applied? For example, if an enemy is already burning for 17 × 5 and then gets hit with a 12 × 3 burn, what happens? Does the new burn overwrite the old one, does it keep the 17 damage but refresh/change the duration to 3 ticks, or does the second burn simply have no effect until the first one expires?
  8. Are there any other simple but important tips or rules of thumb that experienced players use almost automatically during their runs?

What am I doing wrong? Soldier Danger 5

I really don't understand. I focused on armor, life steal and damage and still lost at wave 20

Do any of you find it hard to play other games cause of this?

For over the past year I revert back to Brotato on my Switch even when I play other games. 💀

Random Run

I started a run using Loud with Shurikens and I unlocked Will-O’-Wisp today so I figured let’s see how high I can get it.

Does changing directions cause speedy to have a frame of -100 armor?

should i just be doing smooth curves with him or does it not actually count as stopping if you go the other direction for example if im doing a swarm dive through a bunch of mobs
