Hi!

I'm using Old Reddit with Firefox, and it looks like some UI elements related to chat have disappeared.

For reference, the same issue also occurs in LibreWolf, which is Firefox-based.

Here are a few examples:

• The chat button that used to appear in the top-right corner is now missing.

• The button is still visible and works correctly in Chromium-based browsers.

• When I open another user's profile, the Start Chat option is no longer available.

• Again, it is visible and works as expected in Chromium-based browsers.

• When I hover over someone's username, the Start Chat option is also missing.

It seems to be an issue specific to Firefox-based browsers when using Old Reddit.

My specifications :

iPhone X
iOS 16.7.16 (Build 20H392)
App version : 437.1.0 (seems to also be the case on 437.0.0)

Tl;dr : Instagram app crashes because it doesn't support your iOS version. Appstore still installs it anyway which makes it constantly crash as it is trying to launch.

I will go into the details of this bug for those who want to know more about it.

For anyone who is experiencing any issues on this specific Instagram version (many were mentioning this issue on this sub-reddit), the constant crash is happening due to a missing symbol that is not implement on iOS 16 and earlier versions.

The specific symbol (textSelectionDidChange) is expected in VisionKit.framework but due to the app not finding this symbol it will result in a crash.
This symbol has been implemented in iOS 17.0 as a part of the ImageAnalysisInteractionDelegate
protocol.

Usually the Appstore will only allow you to download versions of apps that are fully compatible with your hardware and software but in this case it seems that it installs the latest version of the Instagram app anyway.

Fix :

If you have a jailbroken device then you can simply downgrade to a previous stable Instagram version using the AppStore++ tweak or some other method involving downloading the IPA file dump of an older, if your device is not jailbroken then you might be doomed.

Since yesterday (or maybe the day before, I don't remember exactly) I get randomly disconnected from the app.

But it's extremely weird. It never happens right when I'm using it, it always disconnects in the background. And when I log back in, I have to do so twice in order to actually log in AND it just reopens the "session" I had (i.e. My accounts that were logged in at the time).

This does not happen on desktop web, so it's extremely strange.

I've had 2FA enabled for a while, so I know it's not weird attempts at takeovers. Plus no unknown or unauthorized sessions have been detected.

I have to verify my age for some reason even though I verified my age with Google.

Edit: i also can't verify my age with face scan

I have items in my mod queue that need to be removed as addressed, but i can't do anything. They're clogging up my queue.

Is there some reasoning behind redesigning the reddit comments box so it moves around, blocks​ comments ​I'm trying to see so that i can make a comment, and prevents longer replies by covering the screen or disappearing completely? It went away for a while but has returned.

Whatever happened to if it aint broke don't fix it?

I've been trying to access my inbox since last night. It says I have no messages although I do. Precious messages have been deleted. I cant message people and I've tried almost everything. Using the web version. Trying to reinstall it. Changing email. I'm unsure of what to do.

The ongoing issue of unwanted refresh behavior on the Reddit feed is back. And more annoying than ever. It is especially bad when you first open the app, or re-attend the app, after setting your phone aside for a few minutes…

Your attention begins to settle on interesting things in your feed, but before you can open and explore an interesting post—“bam!” You are force-refreshed, back to the top of your feed. And there will be a flurry of this, for two or three times until the feed “settles down” again.

I really don’t understand why it is so challenging to eliminate this unwanted navigation behavior. It’s a basic function. Is the coding for this app so farmed out, that basic fixes are no longer capable?

Very frustrating, long time Reddit user. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

so this has happened to me twice this year. i logged out of the first one, and soon after, i was logged into a new one. to be clear, the account i’m posting on is my account that i made. not the one i randomly got logged into. the one i randomly got logged into had already commented on someone another post, that’s how i know it’s someone else’s. that account also has my phone number on it, and i can’t remove it without adding an email. this is freaking me out what is going on??

I wonder why comments disappear when I reply to a post. Any assistance?

Recently, I can click on any post that says it has as few as 1 comment, and I see the skeleton loading state on the comments for like 30 seconds before any of them load.

This happens on my 4G data, or at home on tested 400 Mbps fiber.

This is greatly disrupting my Reddit addiction.

No matter which post I click on, it's empty as per the screenshot above.

I'm following users. I can no longer find a list of the users I'm following and I can't add them to a custom feed. What does it even mean to follow a users at this point? Is Reddit trying to kill the idea of following users?
