Does BXO affect your day to day life?

For me it does not but is that common? I do my cream and moisturizer and i go about my day. Sometimes it psychologically affects me though as all chronic skin conditions are bound to do even if no one can see it

Anyone had preputioplasty along with injection of potent steroid?

If so how did it go? Or some of the other emerging treatments such as Platelet-Rich Plasma, anyone had any of these newer treatments here?

Need advice

Im 29 with BXO. Doctor gave me the option of circ but i said it did not sound appealing so she referred me to a dermatologist, currently waiting on the date. Im starting to have second thoughts about circ. I have lived with BXO for over 15 years and when i think about it it causes me a lot of psychological stress, anxiety and sometimes depression. My only symptom is tight foreskin when hard, white ring at base and white blotches on glans but it will not get better only worse as its a progressive disease as you know. Does circ really cure it? Should i just get it over and done with? If i did go through with it it would be while i was awake under local anaesthetic, no way they are putting me to sleep, anyone have experience with that? Thoughts please. If i did do it i would also prob try foreskin restoration after the fact because i want a foreskin, just not a diseased one but then ppl say that the reason circ works is because the glans is dry and exposed so doing that will defeat the point, ugh.

Dermatologist or Urologist?

Have been dealing with different degrees of inflammation on glans for close to 6 months now. Tried hydrocortisone, fluconazole, thrush cream. Persistent non raised red area on glans that gets easily irritated. Seems to be more comfortable when retracted for longer periods, but doesn’t go away.

I have other autoimmune conditions and am now starting to consider bxo as an option.

GP seems out of his depth and duration for referral is too long so will go private.

Should I see a urologist or a dermatologist?

Does anyone have BXO without white patches?

I’m trying to figure out how common the classic ivory white patches are for people suffering with BXO. A urologist told me I have possible early signs but I don’t experience the classic white thin wrinkly patches do they come around more so as the condition progresses? Did that happen with you or were they one of the first signs?

Has anyone achieved clearance of symptoms with corticosteroids, but it took 6+months?

Has anyone managed to achieve complete clearance of symptoms, but it only happened after 6+ months of corticosteroids?

I've been applying clob since Oct 17th of last year. I've seen substantial improvement, but there is now still a bit of residual redness that just won't go away and I've not seen further improvement for a very long time now, so I'm beginning to fear that this is as far as I can go with clob.

Help with clob in urethra

Hi guys. Got circumcised last year due to bxo. No issue, wasn't bad. Glad I did it. My urethra has gotten a little tighter since then so my dermatologist has given me clob ointment.

Can anyone help with techniques in getting it down as far as possible into the urethra please?

Thanks in advance.

does this look like bxo to you? (NSFW)

Hello I was wondering if I could get the opinions of others on this subreddit about if this is definitely bxo or not since I’m not showing the ‘classic’ symptoms. For reference I am 23 and was circumcised 4 years ago

I mistakenly stated on another post here that I was diagnosed with BXO which I realise was false. The doctor said it was “possible early signs”. I’m now on the waiting list to see a dermatologist but it will take months.

This is a persistent issue I’ve had pertaining to the skin around my urethra for over a year now. It started with the meatus of my urethra looking swollen and then the affected area of skin gradually spreading and becoming raised around it. The first image is of my penis when soft. the other 4 are what it looks like when erect from 4 different instances. The affected area of skin fluctuates.

What confuses me is that my symptoms do not align with classic BXO, the effected area of skin is: Soft, not flaky, hard or dry. Raised and thickened, not thin. No pain, itchiness or bleeding. uneven, asymmetrical and slightly bumpy all over. Used to be far more red but since quitting masturbation is mostly pinkish or pale. But still discoloured compared to the rest of the glans Fluctuates in how pronounced and raised it is. Sometimes it looks completely flat or sometimes it’s more noticeable and it changes all the time. No bleeding. Got clear non smelly jelly like discharge once a few days ago but I think I had a brief uti or something.

My main problem is that this is persistent, and despite calming down the past few weeks it isn’t showing signs of completely healing. I was wondering if anyone has had similar symptoms early on or if this even resembles BXO to you? My only other theory is that it’s friction/trauma related from the vigorous masturbation I used to engage in. It sucks that I’ve been having these genital issues for over a year and a half without any doctor being able to definitively tell me what it is and feeling like being in a constant state of limbo. Being scared to look down every time I go to the toilet. I just want things to go back to somewhat normal soon either through time or treatment. I would really appreciate input.
