Lesbyler question
Ok so in canon Will is bullied for his queerness.
Does that mean as an equivalent Willow would be seen as too manly? Still an artist, sassy, and sweet of course because these are core Will personality traits.
What things would people lock onto for her being a lesbian?
Girls are allowed by society to be more touchy with each other (at least in my experience).
So how different would Michelle/Mikah/Mick (whatever you call her) act with her.
Like Mike in canon got less touchy with Will in seasons 3 & 4 because it's not "normal" friendship behavior between two boys. But even with my platonic friends we could all sleep in the same mattresses/cuddle pile/ sleeping mats.
I will say that it did make things super confusing for me when I fell in love with my Best Friend at 14.
These are just things I've been thinking about.

Why does Troy only say stuff about Will to Mike?
Lucas and Dustin are there, but Troy usually only gets close up to Mike's face, or his eyes are directly locked onto Mike only, when he says stuff about Will, as if waiting to see a reaction, to gauge how it affects Mike only, like testing to see a theory. He doesn't care about how Lucas and Dustin react, he only ever focuses strictly on Mike when he calls Will homophobic names.

What hurdles would Mike and Will have to overcome?
Hypothetically, if Mike fully came to terms with his feelings and he and Will eventually started dating, what do you think would be the biggest hurdles they’d have to overcome in their relationship?
Personally, I think the biggest issue in Mike and El’s relationship was communication, or more specifically, Mike’s inability to communicate. And I don’t even think that problem was necessarily specific to El. We see it with Mike throughout the series, and even with other Wheelers like Nancy and Karen in their relationships with Steve/Jonathan and Ted. The Wheelers tend to avoid confrontation, bottle things up, and kick problems down the road instead of directly addressing them.
That’s basically what Mike does with El. He keeps his feelings to himself, avoids difficult conversations, and struggles to openly express what he wants or feels. We even see him briefly do the same thing with Will after the Byers move, where he avoids talking to him and becomes distant. A lot of us headcanon that as internalized homophobia and confusion over his feelings.
So if Mike ever fully accepted those feelings and chose to pursue a relationship with Will, I actually don’t think communication would remain as huge of an issue, because finally acknowledging his feelings would already be a major step forward for him emotionally. He's always been more emotionally honest with Will more than anyone else.
That said, I still think they’d have a lot to figure out as a couple and would probably face new struggles in their dynamic. Besides the obvious issue of homophobia and the time period they live in, what other hurdles do you think Mike and Will would realistically struggle with in a relationship?

It's weird at what some haters would say.
Like a couple of weeks ago, someone accused me of just wanting to give Mike as a "trophy" for Will just because I said it would make sense for him to end up with Will because they have a lot more in common with each other and that it would be harder for Eleven to be with anyone romantically again even if she is still alive because there would always be bad people after her because of her powers anyway, and that Will is one of the few people left for Mike to truly understand his trauma because he was actually there to witness it, and that there are actual some queer people that see these in Mike (even more than Will) because, you know, actual queer people had to self-consciously deny who they actaully are for years until long into their adulthood because of homophobes and Will had already figured out that he really is queer since he was a teenager.
Sometimes, I really do not understand the haters....
