What can I do academically to help my chances of getting into CalArts?
Hello! I’m considering going into CalArts and want to know what I can do now that may make it easier for me to apply in the future. I’m going into my junior year of high school, I’ve had a consistent 4.0 GPA, and if possible I’d like to try to graduate high school this year. I already live in California (although not super close to CalArts). I’ve been making art and drawing often since I was 4, and more recently I’ve been experimenting with different styles and fluidity in line art, and using bolder and more contrasting color schemes. Is there anything I can do now while I’m still in high school that may make it easier to apply for CalArts in the future? Or any other tips in general? Thank you! ^^
Edit - Here’s a couple of recent art pieces I’ve been working on:
Digital art piece
Traditional art piece (still a WIP, some parts look a bit off because I’m in the process of covering them with acrylic markers/still shading)
I do sketch very often, however my sketches are often on random scraps of paper and I lose them easily. I recently got a nice sketchbook though, so I’ll be able to practice more.
