Planning on getting a Cam in the near future, in need of some advice.

Right now I’m saving up for a used Camaro, wanna get something between $8k-$16 and I’ll be paying in cash. My worst fear is buying the wrong car and having to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars to fix said issues, just for another issue to pop up a month later. I also make around $20k-$25k a year, I’m saying this because I heard these cars require a lot of maintenance. What do you guys think?

Dent Question

Woke up today to this decent sized dent. Neighbors gable vent flew off their house and hit my car.. does this look repairable or a situation where I need a new door?

Anyone else having this issue or had it?

So I’m on the highway and I’m on like 70 then out of no where my rpm and will start dropping even with my foot on the gas, even with my foot on the gas nothing, not until I put my foot all the way down and it’ll jerk then do it again until I do my foot down again. Pretty sure it’s either a dirty throttle body or fuel injectors. Anyone else having this issue?

Can I change fluids (trans, rear diff) myself? Everyone is telling me to go somewhere for it

I need to do my transmission, rear differential, and brake/clutch fluids. My brake/clutch reservoir is black.

I’ve watched YouTube videos on transmission and rear differential fluid, and it doesn’t look any different than changing oil except using a pump.

I’ve read/watched that I can change that dirty black fluid out myself for now and then go somewhere to have them do the brakes (a full flush?)

Everyone im surrounded by tells me why do it myself when I can just go somewhere to have it all done.

I WANT to do more things myself and learn more about cars! Why WOULD I deal with stress and anxiety of finding a trustworthy garage or going to the dealership if this is something that plenty of people do themselves like oil.

However, my concerns about doing it myself is- after changing a fluid, is would I not be able to diagnose something during the process (if something’s off) and is there a risk that some unknown problem would be exposed? These are simple yes or no questions and I can’t get an answer. If I shouldn’t do it myself, would like to know the reasoning behind it. Thanks!

Happy birthday from the southern hemisphere

Parked up on New Zealand's east coast, so somewhere over the horizon is where this car came from. Don't worry she's very happy here amongst the Holdens and plentiful JDMs.

Happy 4th!

I keep breaking my passenger axle. 2014 2SS 6M. I know of G-Force and DSS for upgraded axles, I’m more so confused as to why it’s only the passenger side.

Bought Oct. 2024. I absolutely love this car

This is my gorgeous red hot camaro. 2016 bought it with 17,000 miles for around $32,000, now at 30,000 miles. Definitely one of the cheaper ones on the market I found at the time (market is even more ridiculous now). It's my first V8 and first sports car. For the price point and the platform you get, I absolutely fell in love with this car. I've done performance mods since then and even before it still put a huge smile on my face. Even more now with higher hp. I don't think I'll ever get sick of this car. How was everyone elses experience been with the LT1?

2010 Camaro SS LS3

Hello my fellow Camaro peeps! I picked up this 2010 Camaro SS LS3 for $6k from a family member last weekend. It has 175k miles, needs shocks and struts (bad), and the AC has a leak, so it doesn't blow cold for more than a couple of days after recharging. It has aftermarket headers and straight pipes with a tune, so it sounds great. Did I pay a fair price as is?

I've already changed the wheel spacers from 1.5" on the front and 2" on the rear to 1" all the way around to fit whatever wheels and tires are on it. The first 2 pictures are with the wider spacers still installed, which I think looked ridiculous. The last 2 pictures are how it sits with 1" spacers all around. Still not great fitment-wise, but I may do a body kit or fender flares to fit the wheels and tires better. I love the car and have always wanted a Camaro, and I couldn't pass on this one when I found out it was for sale. I just know as soon as they sold it, I would have been pissed I didn't buy it. I figure if I spend another $4k or so on getting a full suspension kit and getting the AC fixed, it'll be solid, and I'm only in it about $10k. It also has some hail damage, but I'm not too worried about that. I think I'll just get an estimate, and if it isn't too bad, I'll have the small dents pulled. I've looked at motor rebuild kits, and that may need to be done soon as well, just due to the amount of miles it has now. The car runs fine as it is engine-wise, but this car has the most miles of any vehicle I've ever owned, so I am concerned about it.

I should add a note to the info here: I am not building a show car. I will be building it as a fun weekend ripper. I don't plan on daily driving this car, and any work put into it will be strictly "because racecar."

Dealer dropped my wife’s car off their lift.. help

Hey everyone, this sucks. My wife brought her car to a Chevy to get the tire replaced. Well, they dropped it. I’m of the opinion that they should be getting us a new vehicle. We currently owe 14k on this car. What would you do? What expectations should I have of the dealer? Obviously never had this happen before, advice greatly appreciated.

Okay what year is this? I know it’s an ugly duckling but can I fix it? 5.7 liter. T-Tops shite! He wants around $500. His dad buys and sells cars and his did not handle this one well.

My neighbor buddy buys and sells vehicles at auction. Well his teenager got a hold of this one and as you can see, front is trashed and rear bumper replaced. I would love it as a project vehicle. T-tops and a 5.7 Litre (350). I can slowly fix it no? Or are parts hard to find?

Happy 4th to the Americans 🇺🇸

Wanted to get the jump on an early July 4th post since I’ve got a lot of AI in it. First pic is legit and the best one, had ai make some patriotic themed pics and tbh, they’re not that great 😂 don’t look too close at them. Will maybe post a burnout video later though, if I can! Be safe everyone and HAPPY 4th OF JULY 🎆

We still talk about ya'll.

Sometime in the past when I had my 00 built LS6/4l80e Z28 (07-23) and my wife had the 06 GTO.

No matter how nice/new cars get, nothing beats a big cam LS car with parts of the roof taken off and a desert highway for me.

You guys think it will get totaled?

Sad day, seen these posts here and there. Never thought itd be me one day haha. Friendly reminder to always have insurance, can't always protect what we care about. This happened while it was parked outside my house.
