Reductions in Service aren’t Minor Schedule Adjustments (Route 322)

CapMetro changed the Route 322 bus from every 30 minutes to every 35 minutes. That doesn’t sound like a big deal, but…

Much harder to remember. Instead of leaving Hancock Center on hour and half hour, it’s now 7:25, 8:00, 8:35, etc.

Even worse, the 322’s new 35-minute headway is different from all the 30-minute headways for routes it crosses. This makes two-bus commutes more complicated and works against the simplicity inherent in the 2018 Remap, which the agency is still neglecting to fine tune.

More than anything, this change was deceptive, hiding a service reduction from the public. The agency should have been honest and up front with us, so we could gripe before the change instead of after.

Austin Light Rail court fight paused again after Paxton appeals ruling

I super dislike Paxton, but wish we were getting the 28 miles of light rail we were promised when voting instead of under 10 miles.

If it went down to Slaughter or up to 183 as originally envisioned and presented to voters - it might have gotten cars off the road... the current $8 Billion plan really doesn't move people.

When I say it doesn't "move people" I'm suggesting - students on West Campus are not daily commuters, people that already live downtown are not commuters - the only commuters would come from Riverside Drive, but I'm not sure the volume supports a $8 Billion line that isn't federally funded yet.. and it doesn't even go to the airport anymore.

I wish we could pause and reset and get a new vote based on the <10 mile plan.. the 20% CoA tax increase really hurt a lot of people - an extra $500+ per year isn't chump change for people that don't live near the line - which is most people unless you live on Riverside/downtown/West Campus - and if you live downtown or West Campus you probably aren't commuting elsewhere anyway.

Red Line train interruption Aug. 24-27th

Do you or someone you know use the Red Line train for necessary travel to places besides downtown?

The Red Line will be temporarily closed from August 24-27. While there is a replacement bus service, it only stops at Leander, Lakeline, Howard and Downtown stations, in addition to Republic Square.

As an example, It can take approx. 90 minutes getting to ACCs Highland Campus for students & staff or the Domain for workers from Lakeline station, vs 30 and 45 minutes respectively normally with the train. This is also the first week of ACC & UT classes.

Does this disrupt your day, do you want the shuttle to stop at intermediate stations? Let CapMetro know. Call 512-474-1200, email customer.service@capmetro.org or leave a comment at https://www.capmetro.org/help-contact/customer-comments

For any ACC students or staff members, contact ACC and let them know about the need for a rail shuttle stop at Highland! You can email green@austincc.edu for the green pass team and call (512) 223 - 7301 for the Highland campus management office.

Hundreds of students and staff use the train to get to Highland, it's ridiculous there isn't a stop.

Why can't we use the middle passageway to cross train cars? Isn't this counterintuitive?

Every other country that uses this model of Stadler allows passengers to cross into the next train car. Why is it that it's only Austin Capmetro Rail that doesn't allow it? It makes no sense. It's not even out in the open air either. Haven't been on eBART to confirm but aren't passengers allowed to go through the train cars on that section of the route too?
