I'm happy kai 2 is taking so long.

I just wanted to make this post cuz I've seen so many ppl being obnoxious about kai 2 "taking too long" without understanding the reason or situation that Falcom is currently in.

Falcom is a small studio with only around 70 employees working on different titles simultaneously while also releasing multiple games a year, and also releasing almost every mainline trails game annually.

Even though they reuse most of the assets, writing a new and fullfilling 100h jrpg in only a year or two is pretty much impossible, hence why they have to resort to lots of "fillers" and "padding" in some of the new titles such as DB2 and Horizon to provide a "long experience" without moving the story too far and instead give players more slice of life kinda stuff.

Personally i don't think it's healthy for the devs or good for the future of the series if they keep rushing the games like this just to please annoying fans.

I think after lots of criticism of DB2 and also burn out within the studio, the company have decided to take a new and much better approach for the series. To focus on releasing other titles and remakes annually (to reach quota) while hopefully taking more time to work on mainline trails games to provide a better experience for everyone.

I genuinely don't understand why people are so impatient. I think the series needed this for a long time and I'm happy that they're taking a long time working on kai 2, and i hope they stick with this approach until the finale.
