Most underrated Cavetown song?
What is a Cavetown song that doesn't get as much love as you think it deserves?
I think it's definitely Thank You by Cavetown Offline. It's a really really really wonderful song, but I never hear it mentioned. I know that the offline stuff definitely seems to be way less popular, and it totally makes sense why, but songs like Candle, Ghost Boys, and Rocket Ships are still commonly discussed even if they would get more love as Cavetown songs.
cavetown x project hail mary!
[vid includes spoilers!!!] i dont know if this is super allowed in here, but i made a phm edit to the back of the moon cuz it just felt so fitting… idk if there are any phm fans that are also cavetown fans so this is a long shot but i just wanted to show someone lol 🥹
Give me a Cavetown song and I’ll tell you if/where it ranks in my top 38
Saw someone else do this for a different artist, so here we go

Digital Download from Purchase
Back when the Sleepyhead album first came out, I bought a record of it and a record of Lemon Boy from Cavetown’s shop. I’ve recently wanted to move away from Spotify and use an mp3 player, so I wanted to download the digital versions of these albums, but the link that was given to me with the order doesn’t work anymore.
I know this was six years ago at this point, but I was wondering if anyone knows how I could get the digital copies? I never downloaded the albums using the link when it was first given to me cause I didn’t see why I would need them at the time lol.
I also think the store, Second City Prints, is no longer is business so I can’t contact them to get the copies :(
I thought i’d ask and see if anyone else experienced this.
TLDR: Bought records from the Cavetown store a while back and now want to download the digital copies that came with them, but the link doesn’t work. Company went out of business? Anyone know what to do?
birthday gift for my little sibling :)
in middle and highschool I listened to a lot of cavetown. despite our almost 8 year age gap, my sibling has always been my best friend, so naturally we spent a lot of time together listening to music. when my sibling was only around 4-6 years old, I introduced them to cavetown and they became obsessed with Robbie's music. we'd sit in my bedroom for hours watching his music videos and drawing. I remember the first time they saw the music video for "green" and ended up crying and continued to bring up the impact it had on them days later.
anyways, cavetown's art means so much to me and to this day is my sibling's all time favorite artist, and that's something we really bond over. this Sunday is their 12th birthday and I decided to do something special: take them to see cavetown in concert!! I custom made the cutest little fake ticket stubs to give to them on their birthday and I figured y'all might enjoy :)
it's so crazy to think when I was a sad trans middle schooler, I was the coolest person ever in the eyes of my sibling. the jump from being 5 and 13 to almost 12 and 20 is insane. they're at the same age I was when I got into this wonderful music, and I am so thankful I am fortunate enough to gift my sibling this once in a life time experience. if I had gone to this concert at their age I think I would have exploded XD (still might explode, as much as I'm doing this for my sibling it's a dream come true for myself as well and I am so excited!!)
What even is Tarmac?
The chorus of Tarmac repeats the phrase “Sweet like Tarmac, I’d eat that”
The song also mentions tarmac in the line “Roadkill, Tarmac, rescue me.”
What even is Tarmac in this context? Does Robin have a habit of going to the London airport and just munching on the asphalt the planes drive on???
1994 poster
Hi everyone I don’t where else to turn so figured I’d come on here.
Would anyone here on this subreddit have their hands on this 1994 Cavetown poster? I recently moved and I believe the movers have stolen my items and this poster was among the items that I believe have gone missing and I sadly do not see this poster on Robbie’s website anymore.
If there is anyone here who has this poster and would be interested in giving it away please let me know and I will make you an offer so that I can have it.
Thank you!!
was listening to "Ur Gonna Wish U Believed Me" and...
i wish i had appreciated this song enough wayyy before. was feeling kinda burned out, questioning my self-worth because i did bad at something i'm supposed to be good at. the moment hit me and i realized how beautiful this song is at capturing this sense of desperation but choosing to be physically quiet, i don't know if it even make sense but that's exactly how i felt. listening to the line "got nobody to listen except for the friend i'm imagining, curled up in my laundry" feels like a wrench in the stomach although all of the lyrics in this song really do speak to me so well.
robbie's accent??
i haven't been keeping up with cavetown too much during this album cycle but i finally got around to watching the most recent vlogs with chloe moriondo. my first thought was wow, his voice has changed!!
ik in the past he kinda had an american accent when singing but now it's much more pronounced, especially in the way he speaks. i heard he's living in new york now so it makes sense, it's cool hearing his accents blend together. did you guys hear it too?
