Paradise Dynasty happy hour is a ridiculously good deal

50% off dim sum and select dishes from 2:30-5pm on weekdays PLUS $2.99 wine / beer specials. Got all this and chicken won tons (not pictured) AND two rounds of house wine for around $50. As good as DTF or even better IMO.

Place was almost empty on a late Friday afternoon. Can't believe people are sleeping on this!

$5.99 Breakfast Bagel from Pavilions

I work across the street from Pavilions in WeHo and get this breakfast bagel almost once every week. You can do sausage egg & cheese or bacon egg and cheese (the sausage is obviously a little more meat but sometimes they don’t heat it fully enough and can be a little cold). I believe there is also a salmon one for same price. They make it per order in front of you and you can add veggies and sauces for no additional charges. Toasted and then cut in half. It’s delicious and just the right size for a decent breakfast, and one of the only things left in this world that feels like an actual good price to me, if not a “deal.” It’s actually just $5.99. Even those lame pre made boars head sandwiches that are 80% bread are like $7+ now. There is a Starbucks kiosk right across from it and if you’re paying for one of their gross plastic wrapped sandwiches with this 8 feet away you’re crazy. I used to think Pavilions was like a “ritzy” grocery store but they are actually very affordable as long as you are registered with their club card. Some deals even cheaper than Ralphs.

Just wanted to share a positive food item that, for once in this gloomy food scene, doesn’t feel like you’re getting ripped off!

I opened up a Charleys Cheesesteaks and Wings Franchise!

Hi everyone!

I opened up a Charleys Cheesesteaks and Wings franchise in San Fernando Valley. It is about to be almost 2 years since we opened the store! I only own the one located on 7956 Van Nuys Blvd Van Nuys CA 91402. I’m just a franchisee with one store and there is about another 500 franchisees throughout the US who own the rest.

Why did we choose this location?
I grew up in the SFV my whole life. The Plant has always been a center many people love going too. We have one of the busiest in n outs, the movie theater right behind, and almost everyone in the neighborhood goes to that Ross. We thought it would be a good location.

Why did we choose Charleys?
At the time Charleys was only Charleys Cheesesteaks. We were the first store to have Cheesesteaks and Wings in the valley. Now, all stores have wings. Growing up, almost every mall had a Charleys. It just stood out. Charleys is just good for a solid fast food meal.

Also everyone loves the strawberry lemonade.

Some facts
We serve roughly 200-300 guests per day.
We are one of the only restaurants in the area open late Fri/Sat until 12am.
Police officers/firefighters in uniform can get free food.

Support our location
There are tons of Charleys all over Los Angeles! If you want to specifically support our location:
Our UberEats Link!
Our DoorDash Link
Our location: 7956 Van Nuys Blvd Van Nuys CA 91402
We have seating outside!

Get 10 free boneless wings
On both our UberEats/DoorDash for all new customers we have up a deal to get 10 piece free boneless wings with a $15 purchase.
(We end up treating this as a cost to earn a customers business! We hope a customer becomes a repeat customer and that’s how we make money by doing this)

Have us support you!
If by any chance your office needs catering or your kids sports team needs a sponsor, reach out! We will happily sponsor kids sports teams and provide them cheesesteaks!

Any questions?
I’m sure some of you have questions to what happens in franchises, I’d be glad to answer them!

Sprouts Sandwich 3.99

Some locations that have sandwich counter do a daily special for 3.99 and for $1 more chips and drink. It’s only 1$ more non-specials and at $4.99 one of these loaded with tuna salad will keep you full all day with protein.

Update on the under $15 map - what happened with everything you guys sent

So i don't know if you guys remember but two weeks ago i posted a map ( https://affordabite.app ) that lists places where you can get a meal for under $15. It was meant to be a map for the community that people could come, share places they know, and also find out new places in LA. Honestly i didn't have high expectation lol, but turns out you guys sent me a ton of great spots!!

For example, one person alone reported 6 spots they knew, and one person even got a screenshot of insta story of a chicken menu and shared it through the comment. And many others were willing to share photos and names of great places that i couldn't think of. so thank you to all!! I truly appreciate it :)

All of the places sent are not blindly posted; instead, i really take time to verify the information through online menu and etc, and only when i can confirm that the info is accurate i put them on the map. Of course i might not be perfect, but i am doing this so that this map can really be useful to us all. So if a spot you sent hasn't shown up yet, it's not that i ignored it, but just that i couldn't really find a price i could actually check (so sending me a photo would be super helpful lol)

Also, on my last post i noticed that an owner of a small pasadena place posted his own $11.95 platter and asked to be added, and his place is on the map now. I wasn't thinking about this before but after seeing cases like this, i figured that LA is full of places like that, good food and affordable prices, only invisible because they have no means to do marketing. So i thought maybe this map can serve as a place where the owners can show their great foods at affordable prices, and maybe specials and discounts too, which would really benefit the people as well. And so as you can see on the pic, i've added a feature where they can easily report their spots. Totally free, no sign up or anything whatsoever!!

Finally, i've been getting requests to find more places around sgv, sela, and sfv, so i would really appreciate if you guys could share more places in these areas!!

Anyway, thank you for everything, and i'll do my best to make this really useful to you all! If you've got suggestions, please let me know!

Randy's Free donut for bday pro-tip

I was looking to order my free birthday donut from the Randy's app. On the plus side I noticed it seems to let you order any donut for free, even the most expensive Texas (large) donut.

OTOH, I was going to order cheaper donuts too and pay full price. However, the app was going to apply the freebie to the cheapest donut. So I will just be getting the one free large donut. They're missing out on what could be a larger order.
