I was in Cheltenham last weekend for the literature festival and was struck by the number of people on the street pushing bible courses. There were several such stands between Montpellier Gardens and the Town Hall, and all cheerfully getting drenched on Saturday. Did they turn out especially in the hope of recruiting a few festival-goers, or is this a regular occurrence?

we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.
Been in this forum a fair few times, and have seen several similar posts to the one u am making now speaking and asking in where to meet people in and around Cheltenham.. and things to do.
I not a terribly sociable person, but I’d like to change that.. it would be nice to meet some genuine people and make some new friends.
But I don’t really know where to go.
I go to the gym, but I always go by myself.. it doesn’t really seem to be a place to speak to people unless you are familiar or go with someone (I.e: a friend).
Anyways, I am just wondering if there’s any other people around my age in the same sort of situation or if anyone has any advice from their own experience.

18F I wanna make some girlfriends as I am so lonely and have basically no friends, we could go to the gym, smoke, go for a walk, go somewhere crafty or whatever else I am easy going. I am currently doing music production at college and looking for a part time job to go alongside that. my interests include making music Ofc, self improvement, nature, vintage aesthetics and music, rap music especially female rap, reality tv (vpr and southern charm), cartoons, learning Russian, like most girls I am into makeup and hair. I HATE ai so if your some brain dead moron always using chat gpt don’t bother, I don’t like consumerism and not taking care of the planet(as in littering or similar behaviour) I want to be friends with girls that exercise, read, don’t spend their life doomscrolling, aren’t male centred (I mean it lol), honest, can communicate maturely, kind etc etc my dms are open!!
