Last year I made a thread about team comp. I saw a ton of answers which speaks volumes of how well balanced the cast is. Ultimately, I went with Crono, Frog, and Lucca.

Frog is outclassed physically by Crono and Ayla, magically by Magus and Lucca, and overall by Robo.

Yet when he's paired up with Lucca, you have ostensibly the single most damaging attack in the whole game. You can use this four times with each character - costing 20 MP - before needing to restore their MP. At base - with Frog at full health - this still does upwards 2000 damage. When damaged, it goes well beyond 3000.

It completely trivialized Lavos in any ending final boss fight I faced him in. It trivialized the Dream Devourer too. While I'm all for doing crazy damage using dual techs as Ayla or Robo, nothing was more destructive than Frog Flare.

If Frog needs to heal up, Lucca's Flare does crazy damage on its own. But when they're together, paired with Crono's Frenzy, it absolutely shreds every challenge in the game.

I’m gonna get shot for saying this but I was only half paying attention during the beginning portion of the game, so I didn’t even get the full picture of his character but I still found myself instantly liking him. Is it really just the gimmick of a frog with a sword or is there something else that’s just made so well that I’m appreciating it without realizing?

I LOVE THIS GAME, I understand now why it’s considered one of the greatest games of all time and a timeless classic. Thank you to everyone who keeps talking about this game and how great it is because I probably wouldn’t have played it otherwise. I am considering playing the original FFVII now.

hi, im doing my 2nd playtrough and first one after i was a pre-teen when i first beat the game, and i just wanted to do most of all there is to do, and i decided to clear the bad omen 3 times, but somehow, someway, it got fucked up

the first clear(1000 AD) went well, all normal, but when i get to bad omen on 600AD, it was already cleared, the building is there, but all the bosses and non respawnable enemies were missing, all the chests were open, as if i really already cleared it, the only boss i was able to fight was zeal herself, and after i beat her and mammon machine and got teleported for lavos first phase, it instantly trigerred the dialogue for when you beat his first phase and his shell was there open, so i just got out to the end of time, but wtf, can someone explain?

Wow, just wow, one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life and best writer stories I’ve ever witnessed. I loved everything about it, genuinely a must play game for everyone.
