Laurie Kay Christianson

I tried helping an elderly lady who was lost and confused last night in CV. She was scared and confused. May have been dementia. All she had was a dead cellphone, her wallet with an out of state ID. She only remembered an address in IB. I called 911. CVPD called an ambulance and took her away. I was unsure to inquire about where they were taking her, but now I'm regretting it. Hope shes safe. If anyone happens to know anything, please let me know. Be safe yall.

5 starting pitchers the Padres need to have on their trade deadline radar

Starting pitching is the Padres' most obvious 2026 trade deadline need. There are reports that new ownership is willing to give AJ Preller some financial leeway. There’s money to spend, but not really prospects to spare. The math points in the direction of absorbing salary to keep the prospect cost down, which shapes the whole list below. AJ Cassavell of MLB.com figures the realistic play is mid-rotation arms instead of an ace.

  1. Michael Wacha, Kansas City Royals

  2. Robbie Ray, San Francisco Giants

  3. Casey Mize, Detroit Tigers

  4. Freddy Peralta, New York Mets

  5. Joe Ryan, Minnesota Twins

Holy crap I have never seen downtown Chula Vista like this

Last night it was crazy and a lot of fun. All the bars and restaurants were packed. People just having fun and celebrating. After the game it was wild. If you were out there what did you think.

Any news on the Chula Vista Brewing Eastlake location?

The Eastlake location for Chula Vista Brewing has been closed for months for “renovation” and haven’t seen any updates for when it plans to reopen.

Kudos

Seriously third Ave is wild when these games hit. But the police have been really lenient.....within reason.

I'm not a fan of the trash to be sure. But with thousands out there it's not going to be completely something to be controlled.

It's festive, no fights, pretty chill and happy overall. I'm glad for the most part the police just keep it moving, and watch to make sure it doesn't get too crazy. As I write this people are shaking cars (in good fun,), and the police are chill.

It's a good move and I think wise overall.

So kudos.

Any places hiring now?

Hi guys! Hope you guys are having a good summer :)))

I'm a college student who's living at home in Chula this summer, and I've been trying to find some part time jobs for summer. I've been religiously scrolling and applying through Indeed, and recently I've been applying through official company websites of places that are relatively close to where I live (since I'll have to bike to work). I realize that might be a bit redundant if the place isn't actively hiring, hence why I am making this post. I'll take any job at this point, so any suggestions help!!! :)

Open Gym

We so many rec centers in Chula Vista how come none of them are open to the public past 6pm. It appears after 6 pm they get rented by travel ball teams or high school AAU teams?

Any social workers or Human Services ?

Hi,

I've been trying to find a new job that aligns with my degree or educational experience. I am grateful that i have a job, but working in food service for 8 years, is time to move on. I am currently finishing my bachelor's degree in social work. I already obtained my associate's degree in social work and human services and wanted to get some experience. It's been hard because many jobs that i want to apply prefers years of experience, have MSW, or full time. I wish i can apply for a full-time position, but my internship is coming and do not want to struggle with my schedule.
