OK, I think I'm finally done with Cook Unity

This "Traditional Pork Pozole" seemed suspiciously light, and the bottom container with the soup was not even half full. Sure enough, I weighed it, and with TWO plastic containers and lids, the total weight was not even up to the NET (i.e., excluding the weight of the containers) weight of 13.23 oz. on the package. Of course I brought this to their attention, including this photo. And they asked for more photos, which I also sent. All I got in response was the usual "thank you for bringing this to our attention" nonsense. No offer of a credit. Sorry, but I'm not paying $16 for something that wasn't even as large as a can of Campbell's soup.

I've put up with the overpromising and underdelivering and mediocre food for long enough (since July 2025.) Adios, CU.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a comparable (but better) service?

Chicken Enchiladas Suizas

This was good. I might not get it again as I like things w a bit more spice or tang but it was very nice. Needed more pickled onions!

Things becoming sold out that are in my cart

This drives me crazy and actually got me to pause my subscription for a while. This has happened so many times. I select my meals and confirm. Days later I go look at the menu again and want to alter something. So I do and then something that I wasn’t even altering in my cart magically is sold out now and I can’t have it anymore. I really don’t understand how it just becomes instantly unavailable to me in my cart. Does this happen to anyone else?

Banana bread pudding Nutella microwave safety warning

The little Nutella jar is not microwave safe.

After 1m15s in the microwave, a huge hole melted through the bottom and a weird mass of solid, cooked Nutella grew from it.

If you're wondering why I put a tiny plastic jar of Nutella in the microwave for so long... It's rock hard when cold and melts at a MUCH higher temperature than you think (than I thought). It takes a minute to get to peanut butter consistency. Which isn't quite soft enough to spread on bread pudding.

CU- if not by microwave, how exactly are we supposed to get the rock hard Nutella from the teeny tiny jar to the pudding? Hammer and chisel it out?

Lazy breakfast today!

This was my lazy breakfast today. It's a rainy day here in NYC. Let's blame it on that. Lol.

But lazy or not, this thing is freaking delicious!! And really filling too! I only finished one of them, and I put the second one back in the fridge. That salty honey butter really puts this over the top. It's sooooo good! I put chunks of the butter on a little bite of the banana bread. They are so good together!

This isn't my first time having this, and it definitely won't be my last one. I'm pretty sure I already have it added to future orders.

Omg! This was so good!

This is being added to my favorites, so I can find it easily when it's available. Cause I want this again! This was so delicious!!! How can anything with sweet potato not be delicious.

Don't be scared by the word "spicy" right in the title. It's not crazy hot. It does have a little kick to it. But it's not overpowering. It tasted really really nice. Green beans had a nice crisp to it. Everything was perfect. I want it again asap. I'm gonna go check all future weeks' menus again to see when it's available next. It's going into my cart!

After a week of mediocre meals, these were great turnarounds!!

A couple great meals this week. The salmon tacos were phenomenal, a new favorite! The Persian stew was flavorful and healthy with lots of protein. A++

My Meals Were Saved

My weekly CU delivery day was yesterday. I normally get my meals between 1-3pm. For some reason delivery was delayed until evening and I didn’t get a tracking number until 4:31 pm. Food arrived at 6:50pm. I was worried that it would be too warm and I’d have to pitch it, but CU came through. There were 3 plastic encased ice packs in my bag of 8 meals. It was cold inside my bag, and everything was fine. The ice packs were starting to get soft around the edges, still frozen in the middle, no leaks. Exactly why we need multiple ice packs in warm weather.

Vegetarian Sweet Corn Cachapas

5 stars. Sweet and savory. Squash, black beans, mushrooms, and spinach; all well balanced and topped with some mozzarella. Comes with a cilantro/avocado sauce.

Made me a little breakfast combo. Yums!

My first time trying this Frittata. But I just cut like a third of it and combined it with the butter pancakes. Made for a good breakfast. These pancakes may be nothing special, but for just plain pancakes it's delicious, and the real kicker there is the honey butter. That is so delicious!

I really wish Cook unity takes inspiration from this to offer a combo like this. Just a little slice of Frittata on the side of pancakes, it think world be so good

Beef Tenderloin in Mole

This was a new premium option, and I could not resist. At first glance, I thought there was too much rice and not enough meat, but there was a lot of meat hidden under the rice, but there was still a ton of rice. I thought the sauce had great flavor, but not nearly enough; it was dry with so much rice. And a meal that you would think would have a lot of flavor was surprisingly bland. I fixed that with more salt and lime. In the end, it was tasty, and I would recommend it.

Pargiyot and Yellow Rice with Tomato Cucumber Salad, Dressing, and Tahini

I have no clue what Pargiyot is supposed to taste like, but this whole dish smells and tastes amazing.

Has anyone tried this?

EVERY single week it's SOLD OUT. My deadline is Friday at noon. Tuesday 10:00 AM it's sold out. One of these days......

Crab Cakes

Mixed reviews on this one. My husband enjoyed this very much. I don’t care for the accompanying sauce and found the cakes to be mostly filler. I wouldn’t order again, but hubby wants it added to his rotation.

Pulled Pork Sandwich

Wow. Probably my favorite order so far.
I don’t even care that there’s no side. The portion, flavors, proportions … everything was just right. No notes.

So Delish!!

My first time trying this. I'll probably get it again. It was really delicious!
