Was told by repair guy today to buy a starter for my i1046 from cub cadet but it's $300 and the aftermarket ones on Amazon are $70. Yet he replaced the starter solenoid today with an aftermarket one he had with him. What's the difference? Will the $300 starter last longer? Advice please.
I picked up this new from Home Depot for $3049 (before tax) & free delivery
I know it’s better to buy from a dealer, but I felt like it was a good deal.
Got the manager to knock off $150 with free delivery, so I bought it.
Not wise to shoot first, and ask questions later (I know), but it’s done.
Just curious on thoughts about these, from anyone with first hand experience.
Hey all, I started mowing my lawn today and after about 15-20 seconds the engine stalled on me. It would crank back up right away then slowly stall again.
My first thought was the emergency shut off switch was getting triggered when I hit a bump in the yard, but it stalls even when idle. Any idea what might be causing this? Gas appears to be making it to the fuel filter, but I suppose it couldn’t be enough.

I purchased a Cub Cadet Z3 54in from Home Depot. The free delivery in 7-10 business days to my house seemed easy and hassle free. After the mower was delayed for multiple days in a row for delivery, I decided to look into the matter and found out that a third-party company called AAA Cooper had received the mower but was unable to deliver it to my house because it was too heavy. I had to plead with Home Depot every day for a week straight for somebody to look into the matter and finally after almost 3 weeks, I got them to issue a rescue ticket.
At last, I finally received the mower only to start it for the first time and the PTO to immediately kick off the engine. I checked under the deck and the middle blade is completely seized. The deck is clearly bent and I just need to return this at this point.
When people on this sub say to buy from a local dealer, please listen to them and don’t be like me. This has been an absolute nightmare to deal with from getting this delivered to receiving a broken mower deck. Hopefully one of you can learn from my mistake and avoid big box stores.
edit: borrowed a trailer and returned the mower to Home Depot. Took about 10 minutes to do the return. Is this fixable? Sure. Should anyone settle for purchasing new equipment at full price in this condition after a ton of hassle? I personably would say no and find it strange to argue against that, but to each their own.
Hi. Mower was working fine then suddenly stopped. Appeared to have no oil in it. I put some in and now it squirts out oil when that silver thing is spinning (see arrow) and the engine goes 'er, er, er, er, er' but doesn't turnover. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
What is this mower worth? It was given to me and needed some work done. I put a new battery on it, tune up and replaced the carb and runs great now.
500 hours on engine
This is my first zero turn, so I don't know how this started - but the belt jammed up (caught between a finger and idler pulley) - but it looks like the whole mechanism is loose. I'm comfortable replacing parts - I just don't want to get the wrong parts. This is probably the culmination of several "non-grass" items getting mowed... The belt is glazed - so I'm replacing that anyways. Any help is appreciated.
Bought this off Marketplace, just threw a new battery in it. It’s a Cub Cadet LT1042
Has anyone experience issues with intelpower’s shutting off while mowing. It acts like it’s out of fuel but it’s not. As far as I can tell the fuel is all controlled by the electronics. TIA
It started acting like this 2 days ago, I did full maintenance today to see if it would fix it. Still running bad.
Hi all. I had issues with surging a couple of months ago with my Cub Cadet XT1 LT46 Kohler KT-725 and after cleaning the carburetor, I mowed 4 times and it did great. Strong, like a new one. I made the mistake of replacing the air filter. I had seen others talking about a high profile one, so I ordered one and a new air base cover to accommodate it. Filter fits perfectly and the base cover fits but it's a little oddly shaped, it's 98% but does lock down and keeps the filter in place. Can that little bit of odd shape to let air get sucked in make the difference? After about 5 minutes of mowing, it dies. Won't start back up.
I put the old one back on and it started right up but now it's doing the dreaded surging again. I've changed the fuel filter, hoses, pump, put in quality gas and changed the plugs and oil. It does smooth out when I put the throttle lower than 'full'. I'm so frustrated with it. What would trying the high profile one for a few minutes have changed to cause surging to return? Feels like it's just pointing out a still standing issue but the issue had disappeared.

Hello all. I have a 2014 cub cadet ltx1050 that will not start. It would turn over but acted like no gas or no spark. After removing the gas tank and engine shroud I found that both ignition coils were cracked. What would cause both to crack? Age or another issue? Thanks for any help or feedback.

I replaced the spindles on my cub cadet to move towards a more common shape. I went onto gator's website b/c i knew they had good blades, and ironically, the only ones that seemed to fit were S shaped holes. Has anyone found a blade supplier that will fit the 50" deck?
So my mower is about 4 years old. Last 3 months it keeps shutting off every 15min or so. It runs fine. Up until the blades disengage.
Then I just turn off the pto and turn them back on. Sometimes itll run another 10/15min and have to do it again and sometimes it'll last 4 minutes.
Its not the seat safety cause I removed that.
Its not high grass or bogged down. Just normal mowing conditions.
Any ideas on where to start?
