Project Wifey-Mobile

Just got a Born VZ First Edition a month ago - and making it our own.

So far;

- Wrapped 3M Satin Dark Grey and gloss black
- Gtechniq halo coating
- Light tint to front windows
- Lowered on Racingline springs

Plans;
- BBS CI-R wheels
- CSR splitter
- Assign private plate
- Blackvue dashcams

N.B. had an odd issue with my first attempt at lowering - the H&R springs didn’t lower the car at all! (Yes - definitely the right part number). Autodoc have said they’ll process a warranty claim and cover the labour to swap them so let’s see. I’ve attached a pic. Be warned!

Born Maps Update

How often are map updated 'pushed' to the 2025 Born? On my Audi it used be every 4 weeks ago- but I 'feel' the maps on my car are more out of date. I don't recall seeing a message to say the maps have been updated.

Company lease new Cupra Borne 2026 facelift.

Hi all

I can order the new facelifted borne 2026 in full option as company lease. I'm wondering which color i should get in combination with what seats.

The graphite spark and enceladous grey seats cost me litle bit extra, but it seems like the original seats are very blue like. Which i don't really like. Has anybody seen the standard seats?

I can only find videos of the VZ version.....

Rim Colour Code

Hi,

Got some pretty bad scuff marks on my wheel and want to do a touch up on them. Anyone got an idea on the colour code for the silver part?

Also, does anyone know if these are diamond cut or regular alloy wheels?

Thanks in advance

Gave it a good clean after a few weeks of going up and down motorways!

2 months in, still in love with the colour!

Where are all the mods?

People, please. I am an owner of a Born 2023. This sub... no one is talking about mods. All i read in this sub is questions regarding stuff that is clearly stated in the owners manual (well, most of it 😅). I mentioned a couple of months ago about disabling the ESC from cockpit and got downvoted. Is this sub only for people leasing their cars via their employer or something?

Highest range I've seen thus far, 59kW battery 2024 born

Just wondering what everyone else has seen, I've found that preheating (cooling) the car before leaving boosts the range.

Cupra Born Service Schedule? (UK)

Last week I picked up a used 3 year old used Cupra Born just over 30k miles.

Looking through the dealer printout from the purchase i can see

2025 First Service at an official dealership
Ventilation - Remove & Refit, Pollen Filter
Hydraulic Fluid - Remove & Refit, Hydraulic Fluid (Brake)

Previous cars i’ve owned I’ve just done the basic servicing myself but i had it a long number of years. I’m keen to keep this car healthy and up to date with the required servicing and all logged on the digital ‘record’ like it is now.

Whatever / whenever i should be having the service, to keep the record up to date does it need to be at the official Seat/Cupra service places or are there good approved third party ones that would be suitable?

Checking the Cupra app it currently says ‘Inspection in 300 days’

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Front Assist availability is limited

A few weeks ago I left my Born in one of the Heathrow parkings. 25 days later when I collected it back, it was with these yellow warnings. I first I thought the sensors might be dirty, as the car was parked in open air and on a dirty road (and frankly the car was indeed filthy). But then I had it washed, and the warnings remain.
The most annoying thing is that there is no outside light detection, that causes the infotainment screen and instrument cluster to be set at max bright all the time, night and day.

I have a FitcamX fitted on the car, which might be related to the issue, but I had installed it about 2 months before this incident and everything was working fine until now.

I've checked on the manual and there seems to be no fuse for this sensor (actually I don't know which sensor is this and where is it located).
I received a mail from Cupra stating that they detected the yellow warning, and inviting me to bring the car to the dealer for a review, but I actually would prefer not to travel to the dealer because it's 1.5h away and there is no guarantee they can fix it while I wait, which would mean having to wait a week with no car, and another 2-way trip to the dealer, since I only can travel there on a Saturday.

Is there something I can try to see if I can fix it myself? Doeas someone knows where exaclty is this sensor located?

Adaptive Speeding?

I use Adaptive cruise a lot in my 2023 V3 Born. It reads speed limit signs fine and usually shows the correct speed limits.

But sometimes when we go from following a car or from being in a lower limit to a higher limit, it will let the speed go up to 4-5 mph over the limit, enough to set off my +3mph speed warning bongs.

Surely it should never accelerate up to over the limit that it absolutely knows about?

Cupra Born Recall UK

I’ve had the recall letter for my Cupra Born but the two garages I’ve spoken to (Liverpool and Warrington) have stated that they aren’t battery care centres so can’t do the work needed. Has anyone else had any luck finding out where can actually undertake the updates/repairs?

Last warranty check

My warranty is ending (in about 2 months). Do you think it makes sense to take the car to a service center before the warranty ends for some "final check"? Will they find something, are they interested in finding something, or does the service center not care at all and would rather keep something there for the post-warranty period so they can make more money from it?

Do you have any experience that the service should focus on and check something specific? I have a 2022 model.

Charging occurred outside of Preferred Time?

Hi all. I have set a preferred time of 23:30-05:30 to coincide with my reduced off-peak tarriff, but last nigh when charging the car, it used enery beyond this, well up to 07:00, which cost a lot more. Why would it have done this, if I've set it to charge only within the preferred time window?

My charger is a Hypervolt one, and I've set that to not have a time window to avoid a previous conflict I'd been having between that and the Cupra app.

Thanks

I'm in the progress of getting an EV and have considered a Cupra Born for a month or so. Haven't had the chance to test drive one yet though and it'll take at least a few weeks until I'll get a chance. From what I've gathered, it's an extremely solid EV apart from the infotainment system. I'd like to hear how much of a hassle is it really dealing with everyday stuff like controlling the climate control.

At the moment I'm driving a Ford Focus mk4, which has mostly has analog controls, so it'd be somewhat of a change.

Buying advice

I have been in the marking for a hot hatch and I found this cupra leon for 25000€ which I think it’s a good price for it
It’s a hybrid and has 40k km on the dash
Do you have advices
Are they reliable
Should I avoid it?

u/louay0705 — 10 days ago

I recently test drove a cupra born EV and loved the drive. I live in a city with an off street parking bay and a home charger. I try and avoid driving in the city, I have a bike for that. I mostly use my car to get out of town and often go to rural places (north Scotland, brecon beacons in Wales etc) where the roads are full of potholes and often have a significant camber. I think the changing weather is causing lots of roads to sink at the edges and no one is coming to repair the lesser used B roads anytime soon. I am concerned about the low profile of the Cupra and whether its suitable for this kind of driving. My heart loved the drive but my head is having second thoughts.

Does anything have experience or views on how a Cupra Born would fair on poor quality B roads and unmarked roads?

I have also test driven a 2023 Kira niro ev. It's higher up and probably more practical but it is a bit bigger and just less fun. It's also got a boot which folds flat when the back seats are down, which is another plus point. But still, not as a fun!

I've also read some reviews that ongoing Cupra servicing is very expensive. Have people found this to be the case?

Would welcome any advice and also any suggestions of comparable EVs (not considering any of the premium brands). Thanks
