I’ve read that the dashboard layout can be changed using the View buttons on the steering wheel. I can shift the view left and right to view more or less nav data but can’t get the rounded graphic that I’ve seen on other members’ cars. Tried long holds, swiping and even read the manual but no luck. Is it limited to certain trim levels?
Hi There,
I've received a born 2025 as a company car. A 59kwh, so with the new screen and such.
The car drives fine. But damn the quality is a bit shit.
SOS-fault. This will be fixed
ALL tabs/knobs to adjust the ventilation have broken off. Really weird.
Ambient light in the left panel is super patchy. I wont do anything about that since they have to pull apart the entire door panel for it.
Are they all with faults?
I don't have a garage or roof under which I would park my Cupra Born but I do need to charge it in all conditions. Got tired of wraping the charger with a bag to protect the port.
I have ongoing charging issue in company's garage. There's around 20 charging spots (5-7kw), and when there's lots of other cars charding, only Cupra doesn't want to charge! Happens to Cupra only, all other EVs are fine.
Now met another coworker, has some problem with hers Born!
Same problem at my wifes company, they have around 5-10 ev places, only our Born refuses to charge in like 9 out of 10 attempts (days).
At home charging works fine. Tried public charger once, worked fine (never using public chargers, but now very afraid to go on a trip if this happens somewhere in the middle on nowhere). So its something with "busy"chargers where bunch of other cars can cause some issues with the power/current.
Visited local service, they just said it works fine on their charger. No problems found.
They say its a charger problem, even tho it works for all other EVs (including VW IDs), just don't want to admit or try anything. Visited service twice.
Any advice what to do here?
Wrote an email to official Cupra contact, they just forwarded me to the local service which is useless.
Also, if you're buying Cupra, be sure to check this before!
I'll definitelly make a website and put few put few € on google ads so everyone who googles "cupra born" will see this ongoing problem, maybe that will get some attention from Cupra people.
Is anyone having issues with the latest version of the My CUPRA app? V2.19.1 iOS.
Since the last update I keep getting messages saying it can’t communicate with the car because the 12V battery is low.
I assume it’s an app issue as I’m not getting any messages in the car and the 12V battery voltage is fine.
I had no idea my born had this button, is there actually any good use for it? I've driven 20k miles before realising it existed
As we’re experiencing this crazy heatwave in the UK and majority of Europe, I’m finding the AC in the car to be somewhat lacklustre.
I thought I’d gauge some feedback from fellow owners to see how they find their air conditioning?
My Born is a year old and I’m not sure if the AC is genuinely rubbish, doesn’t work in extreme heat or that a may have an issue.
My experience is that it doesn’t really give out ice cold air and at times turns warm.
Went to drive the car yesterday and was met with a series of error codes from drive system, ACC, 12v battery etc.
AA came to diagnose and gave the following report after not being able to help:
Patrol found the following fault code/s: System : Electric drive - 5UB / Electric drive control Electric-drive control EV ECU 5.0 U041500 - Communication with the system <Electronic stability program>. Error Message : Signal improbable. U041300 - Hybrid battery management control unit. Error Message : Signal improbable. P060C00 - Control unit: Malfunction. Error Message : Processor fault. U303500 - Reliable on-board communication (SecOC). Error Message : Signature verification failed. HV contactor stuck requires dealer attention, tried 12v reset and battery reset no luck, truck required when booked in Coolant Level Ok. -
Car is a lease and the lease company are going to sort, but does anyone have any idea of what the above might mean / consequences might be?
TIA
Just got my car back from the mandatory 2-year service. Curious what others paid because the bill was higher than I anticipated.
- 2-year periodic service (no wiper blades)
- Cabin odour filter
- Dust & pollen filter
- Brake fluid replacement
Not even a wipe down inside for 400 bucks.
400€ is crazy imo. What do you think?
Hi,
I am currently thinking about getting a cupra born. I already got an offer from a local cupra dealership and it looks quite good. The only thing stopping me is that they currently do not have a cupra born at the dealership, neither in the show room nor for a test drive. I do not wanna buy a car that I have never even seen before, let alone driven.
Now the guy from the dealership contacted me yesterday (via email) to tell me that the conditions for buying a cupra are going to be worse beginning 1st of July. He didn't specify what "worse" meant specifically, though.
Can someone confirm or deny this? Is cupra changing their poltitics / reducing their current discounts? I am living in germany, if that is relevant.
I would really appreciate your help, I would rather not get pressured into making some hasty decision by false accusations.
Cheers
yesterday my newly bought used 2023 cupra born told me of an available update. It said that the update will take around about two hours. since I was at home and wasn't gonna use the car until much later, I locked everything and started the update. It has been twenty-four hours now, and the car is completely dead. anytime I try to unlock the car with the key fob, it just doesn't work. Only manually unlocking the driver door works. The screen shows that it is still updating and it may take a while. Nothing else in the car works.
Emailed cupra support, they replied with asking me to restart the car software by holding the power button for 10 seconds. I did that and it did absolutely nothing. Now waiting for reply from my car dealership. It's a nightmare. Why the hell did I agree to the update?
I test drove the new Born last week and again today. On the first test drive, Google Maps and Waze through Android Auto were showing in the drivers display, but today this feature didn't work. Does anyone know if this feature has been removed or is it just the software being buggy? I'm not a huge fan of the built-in navigation.
Basically the title, I want to chuck a little 12v fridge in the boot of my born, though the 12v is only active when the car is on, which can be changed from the fuse box.
However im wondering if the 12v will run flat overnight or not, or if the main battery will top up the 12v if it drops too low automatically.
TIA
I have recently noticed a slight change in the braking behaviour under B mode, something like a small jerk usually in low speeds < 10mph - is this a normal behaviour and if so why did I only notice it now after ~ 7K miles in a new Cupra Born 2025? Could it be related to a software/system update? Or something that has to do with the actual physical brakes and not engine braking? Or am I going nuts? :-)
I've recently bought a '23 Born from a Cupra dealer, they serviced it, updated it and gave it it's first MOT.
What does everyone do about servicing? I have a good local mechanic who is qualified to work on EVs but independent. I also have a local Cupra dealer, not the same dealer or network that I bought this one from as I had to travel to get the spec I wanted.
What's best for servicing now? Are the service plans worth looking at?
A software update started a few of days ago just as I arrived home. As I was getting out of the car it saud it was susoending and would continue next time I was travelling. I thought nothing more of it, but yesterday I thought I would just quickly check the state of charge. Opening the app asked for my email address - WTF? So I thought OK, maybe it just wants to make sure my phone hasn't been stolen recently. Entered my email, then it wanted to know my password. It refused to accept the one I copy&pasted from my passwordmanager. After 4 tries including going back to the one I used when I first bought the car, I decided I has to click the Forgot my Password button. It happily sent me an email to change the password. I logged in but then it wanted me to fill in all the details I had uswd to created the online account, but when I said log me in as primary user (since all my details were identical) it refused. So i thought, OK let me become the guest user. At this point it said I had to go to the car and scan the QR code. So i did that. It then asked for the S~Pin. having entered that, it shows a new user in the car but the app won't let me see anyrhing and prompts to become the main user. Now it wants me to go to the car and reset back to factory settings. Arrrrgh!!
Happily it is showing the software updated but isn't telling me what the update did.
edit before anyone asks: yes 4G and network are both showing max bars.
Where is the Sennheiser subwoofer positioned in the new Modell? I think about adding it to the configuration, but I don‘t want to loose too much trunk space.
