Experience with Dr. Harris for BIOL 222L

Hello! I'm an incoming freshman hoping to take BIOL 222L rather than BIOL 214/215L. I would only be able to fit the class with Dr. Harris instead of Meyer. Has anyone taken this class with her and would be able to share their opinions? Meyer had significantly better rmp reviews so I'm a bit worried lol

What’s with the rising acceptance rate?

When I applied just a few years ago Case had something close to a 27% acceptance rate, but now it has jumped to 38%. I understand they have a really low yield rate, but I am curious how this will affect the future of the school since the acceptance rate has been rising in the last couple of years. Do we think this will do anything to its reputation?

Feedback for a crazed mom of HS kid?

Hey all. The fam is at that point where we are looking into colleges and this lovely, amazing institution keeps coming up on our list! I’d love to hear from some kiddos in the undergrad programs on the perks and cons! I’m doing a little recon before we plan our tours, lol.

My son is very academic, it’s always been his favorite part of school. He’s got either a 3.9 or 4.0 (why don’t I know? I have never had to push him or ask or help with homework), and is taking either honors or AP classes depending on his schedule, so that’s weighted. He took his PSAT’s and came close to acing them. He’s in Mensa, which I suggested so he could maybe meet kiddos his age and socialize but….1. There aren’t any in our state his age and 2. He told me he didn’t join to
socialize but to learn. Spoiler alert: all the learning opps we’ve seen aren’t in his interest wheelhouse, which I found surprising.

Thing is….he doesn’t have much in the way of extracurriculars. He’s a great kid with a dry and kind of absurd sense of humor but he’s a bit socially anxious. Honestly not awkward, just anxious. I don’t care if he winds up bagging groceries for a living as long as he’s happy. I’m looking for a school where he will find his people. He has not at all in high school. He’s not unhappy, but I know he could be happier.

Rumor has it that your school might be the place. Like, math-is-fun-kinda peeps? Collaborative rather than competitive? He’s considering molecular engineering. He speaks math like it’s his second language and he ENJOYS it. (I’m a writer, so this is a mystery to me!) On a weekend, he’d be happy playing dungeons and dragons (all his friends moved on, so sad) or escape rooms or a loooong ass board game with complicated rules. He’s not going to keggers or sporting events.

I’ll probably delete this shortly in case he sees it. That would put the school directly on the no list because of my interference, haha. But please share thoughts? What’s the social life like, how are the dorms, might he find his people and happiness here? I’m not trying to be controlling or tiger mommish. I just want him to land somewhere he feels….normal.

Thanks so much in advance!

Parking for commuter

Hey guys! I’m an incoming transfer commuter student and the best lot I’ve found to park in for the semester is about $170 a semester, I think lot 81. Do you guys know about any cheaper or alternative lot to that?

What Rating Would You Give CWRU?

I'm a student applying this cycle to cwru for undergrad (and it's one of my top schools) but Im curious as to what you all think! so please indulge this rating system and give cwru a rating on a scale of 10. These are the factors im thinking about but your rating could consist of more:

location
student body
food
prestige
academics/profs
weather (i'm from cali but i really really love cold weather so case is something ideal for me)
dorms
overall!

CWRU for Electrical Engineering?

My son is from the Philadelphia, PA area and considering CWRU for electrical engineering. He prefers an urban campus. He is easy going, hard-working but a quiet kid who isn’t much of a partier. How is Case for electrical engineering? Is it highly regarded in engineering? Are students relatively happy there?

Anyone with Dr. Sri in CHEM 223 (Org Chem 1)

Incoming sophomore here, premed, panicking:

I have ADHD accommodations through OATS, and one thing that helps me is getting a head start on class material.

I have the online textbook (Wade, 9th edition). Does anyone have the class syllabus for Fall 2026? Including the specific chapters and the order in which we will cover them? Much appreciated.

Rush and Dorm Question

Hey, can people whove been through the rush process talk about what its like, and any tips they have (specifically for sororities, please). I haven't been able to find much info. Also, is it in fall semester or spring semester?

Also, in the dorms, is it recommended to buy an extra plastic storage unit (like the typical three drawer ones from target) for under the bed, or is the provided storage enough?

What will be the best area to book a hotel on the move in week? Downtown and hotels around CWRU are quite expensive for that week as anticipated

Do dorm desks sufficiently accommodate monitor arms?

Hello! I'm considering buying a monitor arm for my son that will be coming in as a first-year student. When looking at the desks for first-year housing, it doesn't mention how thick the table top is, nor does it seem like there's a ledge to place a monitor arm. Has anyone had or seen someone using a monitor arm for these desks?

Howe House description/pictures?

I’m moving into Howe house next semester and I was curious as to the set up of the dorm. Does anyone have any description or pictures of what a room looks like? Famously devoid of pictures and the tours only allowed going into the laundry room lol. Are the walls like Clarke?
