Lepto Vaccine Reaction Advice
Hello everyone, I am looking for a bit of advice. My 16 week old Dachshund went in for her 3rd booster DAPP shot today. After returning home her entire face swelled up, I looked at the paperwork and turns out the vet had actually given her the Dapp-L vaccine.
We went back to the Vet, they gave her Benadryl, after a half hour of almost no improvement she was given a steroid shot.
The swelling decreased a bit and we were sent home. I bought some Benadryl to give her in the next few hours to prevent a rebound reaction. But the vet offered very little advice or sound knowledge on my concerns. I would love advice on:
If I can feed her as normal this evening for dinner, or do I need to hold off or make her portion smaller.
second question is how long can rebound swelling happen? How long should I be watching her?
third, I have no plan to give her a lepto shot in the future but should I be expecting a reaction to the Rabies vaccine in the future?

Is our mini dachshund’s coat colour and pattern considered rare?
I know chocolate is not a rare colour for mini dachshunds, but our little Tuna is a bit different. The breeder classified him as a solid chocolate. However, he has a few patches of white hair (mainly as a little soul, a strip down his chest, and one or two of his paws have a small patch of white hair. He’s almost 3.5 months old now, and we’re starting to see the hair on his ears turn a little bit lighter.
Does anybody know or have a dachshund with a similar coat? We have been trying to find pictures for us to get an idea of what he’ll end up looking like fully grown but I can’t find any with a similar coat! Which makes me think he may be a rare one, I had never seen any like him before.
If you do have/know one that looks similar and you have photos then please send them! We never get tired of looking at dachshunds 🐾

Tiny is a little dachshund who gets cold so easily. She may have short legs and a tiny body, but when the temperature drops, she knows exactly where to find the warmest spot

Meet Maddy!
Sorry for spamming you all so much lol. But I wanted to introduce Macy’s “sister”. This is Maddy. Macy and Maddy were both rescued from a puppy mill. They never knew if they were actual sisters or not, but they were a bonded pair. At the groomers, if Maddy gets put in a kennel by herself, she looses it. Maddy was debarked, likely using a rubber band, so she has a funny little bark. I love it. You can always hear her and it’s funny because she acts like she has a big huge bark.
That little brown spot on her face was actually caused by a tooth rubbing. When they got their dental this year, they pulled it. She still has some teeth but prefers to be fed by a spoon lol.
Also, side note, Maddy is chewing on a collagen chew, not rawhide.
