Great way to celebrate America's 250th with a father and sons range day.
Slowly modifying my newly purchased DY9z and I’d like to buy a barrel for it and quite possibly a slide! Need to know what’s compatible?
As we celebrate 250 years of United States of America. Let us remember the trials and tribulations that the country has endured both in social and politically differences. We the People! not them or us. WE!....There is no we without you, United.
Enjoy the weekend...
Hello all I found a company that makes holsters for the dy9 and dy9z there lead time is awesome too less then 90 bucks I will attach a link to there website I hope this helps you guys find a good holster I ordered mine today it’s expected to be to me on July 10th here is the link to there website make sure if your ordering for dy9z you pick the one with the 3.5 there’s picks of the gun too that will help https://www.lindahlholsters.com/
The main points that helped me were to make sure my support hand heel was actually on the grip of the gun. I was smashing my heel into the fingers of my shooting hand! 🤦🏻♂️ Also to focus on 2 fingers on the support hand gripping hard. I did some dry fire and I can feel the difference already!
I searched on this thread and recall there was an offer for free shipping and a mat with your first order.
My brother in law bought a DY9 and wants to order more mags and I used my offer a while back and forgot how to take advantage of it 😊
Thanks in advance!!!
Check the pics. The mags keep dropping. The mag catch is only catching the edge of the mag stay slot on the mags and its ruining the mags n very aggravating!!! I love the gun but cant have issues like this the magazine stay looks fine not sure whats causing it i think its just not long enough to go deep enough in the notch on the magazine! Has anyone ever had this issue? I have ruined 4 mags already 😒 i hope i can get this fixed just got my optic sighted in perfect 😔
Good lord, I have seen a lot of conflicting info around about holster fits for this firearm. It's a 26 slide size, and I would just get a 19 light bearing holster, but I'm not sure if it'll work. Any help or input at all would be absolutely welcome.
Didn't bring the stock barrel with me so no comparison...
Shadow Systems XR920 slide/barrel assembly on the DY9 frame...function checks fine. Feeds and extracts.
Can't live fire till later in the week, tho
Let’s see those holsters guys and gals I need a good one any info on what you have tried and what you have got to work would be greatly appreciated thank you
I bought this holster today thinking it would fit my dy9z because I read that a Glock 43x holster is basically the same size. But when I went to try it out it is so tight and even looks smaller and when I loosen the screws the clip will come off or not stable. I'm just confused if I should still look for another 43x holster or a different size. Any help is appreciated!
Does anyone know the exact size of the Comp set screw? I received a faulty screw with my DY9 compensator. Derya has not replied to my emails for replacement or exact specs.
Update - it seems as though after having to educate members of the company about their own product several times, I may be able to use the product I first purchased on the 15th of June some time early July.
Eye opening experience
TL;DR: Ordered Derya's top-tier MAX BRAKE compensator (SKU D050716, about $150) for my DY12.
The box had only the compensator and a manual. The manual references a locknut that wasn't included, and the gun actually needs two parts to mount this thing. Neither was in the box, and neither is sold separately on Derya's site, so it is uninstallable as shipped.
When I contacted support, the rep couldn't tell me what's supposed to be in the box or how the brake even installs.
The full story:
I bought the MAX BRAKE because it's marketed as the premium muzzle device for the DY12 and priced like it. What showed up was the compensator and the instruction manual. Nothing else.
Here's the problem. On the DY12 the barrel shroud is what holds the handguard on. To fit any muzzle device you have to unscrew that shroud, and the moment you do, the handguard has nothing retaining it. The brake threads onto the muzzle way out at the front with a big gap behind it, so it doesn't hold the handguard either.
So to run this brake you need two parts: one to take over holding the handguard, and one to lock the brake on the barrel. The manual itself references a locknut. Mine came with neither.
For the gearheads: the muzzle is M24x1 and the shroud/handguard thread is TR25x2 trapezoidal. That TR25x2 is an oddball pitch you can't even buy off the shelf (standard trapezoidal pitches for 25mm are TR25x5 and TR25x3), so there's no sourcing your own.
I checked Derya's entire site. They do not list the locknut as a buyable part anywhere, and the only TR25x2 part they sell is the whole barrel shroud. So there's genuinely no way to buy the missing hardware from them even if I wanted to.
The part that really gets me is support. I emailed and got nothing, so I used their live chat. The rep couldn't tell me whether the locknut is supposed to be included, couldn't tell me how the brake is meant to mount, and had to go ask the warehouse and management to answer a basic question about their own flagship product. That's not a slow reply, it's frontline support with no working knowledge of what they sell. If the people answering tickets don't know how the product goes together, that's a worse sign than two missing nuts.
Anyone who owns one: has anyone installed a DY12 MAX BRAKE? What came in your box? Is there an install method I'm missing, or did others get shorted the same hardware?
Trying to work out if this is a one-off packing miss or a wider problem before I push for the refund. I've also seen that the mods in this community generally reply faster and seem to me more knowledgeable so perhaps someone here can give me some answers?
It seems to work. Function checks are good but there's something that's not quite right to me...looks fantastic tho.
All I did was move the barrel and guide rod assembly over...mounted it on the DY9 lower...
I realized I’m late to the party with this news, but I just discovered this information and thought I’d pass it along in case anybody needs it. I bought this rifle back in February this year and I’ve been dissatisfied with its accuracy. I was always having to aim high just to hit center mass on my targets. Today I finally discovered that the front sight pushes down and pops back up, due to the little spring inside it. Using a 1/16th drill bit as a punch and my armorer’s hammer, I removed the cross pin on the front sight, lifted the sight out, and removed the spring inside. I’m keeping the spring in case I need it later for shooting at farther ranges, but for now, it’s much more accurate as I usually shoot with 25 yards. I can’t believe I just discovered this.
Here I go to posting pictures of one of the most underrated Derya handguns. If you know you know. The Melik with the Iron Claw Comp is amazing from Black Beard Customs It is going to be getting some upgrades to the trigger, trigger bar, new sear, and new springs. It already has the Wilson combat mag guide, Wilson combat skeltonized hammer, w D-spring, guide rod buffer, w. 13lbs guide rod spring and the gen 3 slide block upgrade.
