(PS Vita Emulator) Djmax Technika Tune now booting

I was trying a PS Vita emulator I found on the app store (Vion, paid emulator, forked from Vita3k according to their github) the emulator is still on very early stages but since Technika Tune is mostly a 2D game I wanted to give it a go.

This game in particular needs to sign in to PSN to boot and Vita3k allows you to do that, but this emulator doesn't have a settings menu yet so to enable that setting you must manually edit the "config.yaml" inside the files app on iOS to enable PSN, once you do that the game boots but you can't play it yet because this emulator doesn't have touchscreen support implemented yet.

The very few YouTube videos I found about this emulator show the touchscreen working but I couldn't get it to work on my end. Since no one else have tested this game yet I wanted to share my experience if anyone else is interested on it.

I personally requested a refund after this because I just wanted this game in particular but according to the information available online about this emulator it works mostly with 2D games for now (as far as I know it doesn't have JIT support either).

For now we don't have a way to play Technika on iOS yet but I hope we can reach that state in the future.

Tested on a iPhone 15 Plus

My custom 5key controller with custom cherry MX arcade buttons:

Work in progress of my custom 5 key controller.

I only play 5k and casually tbh and I really wanted some kind of funky bespoke arcade style controller. I love Neon Genesis Evangelion and wanted to make something in that genre. I may make the controller more over the top but just wanted to get this base version done first. Button layout is intentionally done to feel more ergonomic when playing.

It will use 5 cherry MX reds and a pi Pico for the main board. The base plate is just a cheap bamboo chopping board.

Hope you like it

I accidentally bought a DLC that I already have. So I put the Steam code in the comments. The first person to redeem it can have it. (Portable 3 Pack)

Meta joke that actually became lore relevant

One thing I realized while playing and rewatching Miraesonyeo or "Future Girl" is that the big demon thingy lying dormant in Clear's hand was actually working for Jormungand.

Seeing all the failures of the girl got me realized, will people outside the loop even know the meaning of those items shown on BGA? So I decided to make a quick write up.

To understand the context, let's go back to mid 2008, when I was an innocent kid with PSP, and DJmax just launched their arcade title, DJmax Technica. It was an arcade title, but they sold you a limited edition, which came with a 'platinum card'. It lets you login to the arcade machine and record your progress. The prints on the cards were random, and one of them was Son of Sun. A forum user who wanted anime girl print on his card got Son of Sun card and said "oh f- it's the chief, noooooo!", which instantly became a community meme.

At the end of 2008, DJmax Blacksquare was released with a shiny limited edition. People got excited especially because of the portable speaker. Turns out the speaker was made out of paper with a horrible sound quality. This caused a huge outrage. On top of that, they embraced 'the chief' community meme and included a questionable Clover pot.

Fast forward to early 2010, Technica 2 was released with another limited edition random platinum card. The one thing that people wanted to avoid was Thor card, which community also mocked the heck out of people who got them.

In mid 2010, DJmax Hot Tunes was released exclusively in Korea with an amazing looking limited edition. The price was unusually high 86,000 KRW, about $71. They said the price is high because the casing is the real wood. Turns out the casing was made of plywood, and the hinge was so cheaply made that they would just fall apart. This also caused a huge outrage.

Now let's move on to the title song of DJMAX RESPECT (2017), Glory Day. At around 33 seconds mark, Play is praying in front of El's grave with a few memorial items. A pair of speakers, a wooden case with broken hinge, a box with a tribesmen figure, and a Thor card. Look familiar? At this point, it was just a inside joke.

in 2019 Respect V was released with the title song BOOM. At around 30s mark, Fail breaks the seal of Clear's lefthand, releasing the demon. When it's being released, take a look at the objects that shows up for a split second. From my understanding, it depicts the dark past still haunting DJMAX franchise, re-admitting their mistakes.

Fast forward to today, Miraesonyeo shows the origin of the demon, who makes repeated mistakes while working for Jormungand. She messed up the speaker, CD case, Thor's hammer, and even clover. One of the youtube comment says 'So, she's the depiction of all the employees got fired?' lol maybe.

What Song(s) is Stuck in Your Head? (gif very relevant)

https://i.redd.it/emf3odm3rgih1.gif

With the release of Liberty V there have been a lot of great and catchy songs to play endlessly. Have any of them gotten particularly stuck in your head even when not playing? 'Borderline' has taken up residence complete with all the dancing in my head and shows no signs of leaving.

Additionally, this is definitely what needs to happen with Lirulu going forward.
