Deemed total loss gotta love when interstate traffic slows down from 70 to like 30 in a blink of an eye. Done so many repairs to my dart. Never hit the 200k milestone was at 180,000k. Survived a trip from Texas to Michigan and back and also Texas to Virginia multiple times. So many fond memories.
Omg someone please point me to the right direction im having this weird car issue for the past 3 months. “Engine warming wait to start”. MY CAR WONT START , Got my grounds checked. Got my battery, starter, and alternator tested they came back fine. It happens so randomly 1 day it can be fine no problem , or the next day it can happen every time i exit the vehicle I’m scared i’ll be stuck somewhere . i have gotten stuck . I replaced my key fob thinking my car couldn’t read my key. That didn’t help. I just bought a crankshaft position sensor. Waiting on my camshaft and oil pressure sensor. Or should i just go buy a new battery and starter??? Im ready to give up on this damn car sb helppp ugh HOW TO GET THIS TO STOP??
Again 4 months later “engine warming wait to start “ message pops up on my car can someone give me a solid answer on what they did to resolve this i can list all the thing I’ve done so far
*cam/crank shaft sensor
*new battery
*checked grounds
*new key fob
*oil change
What’s left for me to do that can resolve this issue i heard someone replaced their starter and it went away or is it the recall U90 on my PCM causing this issue??? What can it be i put in alot of money into this car to keep having the same issue is ridiculous!! Someone please point me to the right way and yes i did diagnosis came back fine
i’m just a girl please help me.
where on gods green earth am i supposed to attach the negative clamp??
2014 Dodge Dart Aero, 1.4L DDCT automatic, ~131k miles
Basically it feels like the transmission has some gear teeth missing in certain spots when going uphill at 75mph and pressing the pedal harder feels like it vibrates more violently (not enough to crash). Seems to happen on 6th but haven’t manually tried 5th gear.
NOTE: This does not happen below this speed when going downhill or flat. Only uphill at 75mph.
I don’t mind about fixing it too much since I got the car for cheap and I already had it used for 7 years.
Hope this all makes sense. Is this more of a limitation, mild inconvenience, or a genuine safety issue? Honestly not looking to fix the issue if it’s just an inconvenience.
Any information is appreciated!
Car is leaking coolant i just replaced the T Hose no leaks there. Im guessing maybe I tightened the radiator cap too hard? Or could it be the bottom hose now. Will take it in soon not sure what it is if anyone can help thanks
No longer have a Dart, looking to pass these along to someone else who can use them. Make me an offer. WeatherTech floor liners for front row, back row and trunk.
Hey guys, I own a 2014 dodge dart and I was coming back from a trip. Well the car wouldn’t shift into drive and all of these lights were on plus the engine light. Now it’s acting perfectly fine but still does it sometimes, any thoughts on what’s broke?
2013 aero 1.4 turbo... flashing CEL codes P0304 and P1064. Had oil pressure low come up about a month prior to the codes triggering. Made sure the oil was topped off used Castrol Euro 5w40, probably should've went with Pennzoil. My question is, should i follow the trouble shooting steps (changing the oil, checking the plug and ignition coil) or just replace the brick? or am i cooked and should i just replace the whole engine since it's estimated at over 200k miles. i say estimated because whoever had it before me rolled back the miles.
any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.
UPDATE: I found it and got the job done. Thank yall
Anyone with a dart should check the rubber break hose that’s connected to your caliper. The newest dart is 10 years old at this point and that’s how long rubber is designed to last.
You should check all your rubber hoses but specifically that break line since it’s always getting hit with debris.
You will not have any warning until you put a little too much pressure and it blows on you. The fluid will drain and you will not be able to stop.
It’s a $9 part that can save your life, if you can change a tire you can replace the line yourself. If you read this I hope you take a minute to check your own car.
im planning to install my first dashcam system either the Thinkware ARC900 or U3000 PRO in my 2013 dodge dart and i really want the 24/7 remote alerts and live view features, but i want to make sure i don't walk out to a dead battery...
from what i read, the lte module is super easy to plug in and has a 3 year plan included. since it stays connected to the network to send live alerts, will it use up more battery power when the car is parked?
is anyone using either thinkware dashcams? lmk how you like it and if it doesn't drain the battery!!
TIA
Just curious how long anyone has had a Dodge Dart before experience major issues.
I currently have a Dodge Dart GT 2015, 180,000km. Changed oil regularly. It has a little bit of rust starting sadly.
Any experience on how much more life my car has? Should I consider upgrading soon to avoid having to deal with major issues?
Any experience or advice is much appreciated! Thank you :)
I'm debating what I should do. My 2016 dart i bought new over 10 years ago had a check engine light that popped at the end of last week, i got it scanned and it showed P050B. I looked under the hood and saw that I had coolant coming out of from a hose and noticed my coolant was about halfway down from the min. mark. so I took it to work and then dropped it off at the shop after work monday. I got a call from the shop today stating my head gasket had blown the shop said they dont repair head gaskets because they said they had issues in the past. They said they spoke to the nearby dealership and able to find a new OEM engine and could completely replace the engine for $9k with 3 year/100,000 mile warranty.
I just replaced my engine mount earlier in the year, its been my daily driver and I just past 100k at the end of June. I feel like it has been such a reliable car for me for the past 10 years. Its been my baby, I clean and condition the seat 1-2 times a year. If i dont replace the engine I'm sitting on basically a salvage priced car. My mind says this is it, its the point where it becomes a money pit and I this will be the start of throwing money at the car to fix problems that keep coming up. My heart says its been an amazing car with no issues replacing the engine would be one thing and it would be like getting a preowned car for $9,000 but one that i know.
what do you guys think?
Update: (photo in replies below)
So I took the car to the dealership, I am waiting a day or 2 to hear back from them. In the meantime I took a photo of where they said it was showing the gasket was leaking, the shop said they ran a combustion test as well to verify
i recently bought a 2013 dodge dart 1.4l with 76k miles that dosent move when in reverse. it was only $1000 so if i can fix this issue then i got a steal, any suggestions?????
i ran the cel codes and i get P1C99 (gear shift position circuit 1) & P0911 ( gate select actuator circuit range / performance). service transmission light comes on ofc
also, screen works but is unresponsive to touch
any help will be huge
I’ve been looking at this 2013 dart after totaling my 2016 SXT. It has 140000 miles on it. Does this sound healthy for a 1.4 turbo. It will be my fort turbocharged car and it seems to run louder than my 2.0 SXT. Needed advice from other 1.4 owners before I drive 2.5 hours for it. I understand this is the “unreliable dart”
