Question about the formula.

Question about the formula.

For those of you who currently use this. I recently bought this but I notice it’s rather thick. I love the look but I’m curious. I’ve seen several reviews on it and majority says it’s a watery, thin consistency. Just wondering if I have an old bottle. Do you find it to be watery or thick?

Any setting spray recommendations? I don’t have access to milani or elf!

It would be nice to have something that melts the makeup together and adds longevity, although I don’t want anything SUPER heavy duty that it feels like hairspray (like I’ve heard about the l’oreal one) and makes it hard to breathe after spraying haha!

Thank you!

Wet looking blushes recs?

I dont want just “dewy” - I want my cheeks to look like I just came out of a hot spring.

idc about the colors just more the finish and the lasting power on my face

a lot of dewy blushes are just slightly radient. the closest blush I’ve found was the “hince radiance balm” but I’m running out and its an international brand so shipping is expensive.

so far I’ve been mixing the loreal lumi in with my liquid blushes, and i like the look but the custom mixing is getting tiring…

Any recs?! please and thank you!

Wet n Wild Cooling Hydra De-Puffer for eye and face

Ya’ll! I just got this yesterday. I waited until this morning to use it.. I am blown away! I look like a Bassett hound when I wake up. Dark circles and hereditary eye bags.. It literally took away the puffiness under my eyes, in my cheeks and under my chin! It’s lasted all day! This is a game changer for me! I was skeptical because it’s so cheap.. If you don’t have it you better get some! Also it even made my 11 lines look better. If

What drugstore makeup products actually look expensive?

Every time I look up makeup recommendations, someone immediately suggests something that costs forty to sixty dollars and I refuse to believe there isn't a drugstore version that gets you ninety percent of the way there for a fraction of the price. I'm not even necessarily looking for exact dupes. I'm more interested in products that just punch way above their price point on their own. The kind of thing where someone asks what you're wearing and you tell them you got it at Target and they cannot believe it. I lean toward a natural look so the categories I'm most interested in are skin tints and foundations, blushes, setting sprays, brow products, mascaras and lip products. Basically anything that gives that put together finish without the price tag that makes you have to think about it for three days before buying. Because I know how makeup pricing works. Sometimes you're paying for an incredible formula that actually does something different and sometimes you're just paying for the packaging, the brand name and the aesthetic of the website. I'm trying to figure out which drugstore products are competing with the high end stuff versus which ones just look good in a flat lay.

Neutrogena Color Stick

For forever my absolute all time favorite lip product was the Neutrogena Color Stick, in Almond Nude. I can’t find it anywhere and it’s not online. I’m super upset! The color was perfect and the formula was to die for. Was anyone as obsessed as me, and have you found a solid replacement?

College makeup starter kit under $50?

I have never really been a makeup person my current routine is mascara, lip gloss, and pure optimism and that's it.Lately though I've been wanting to put a little more effort in. Not because I want to do a full glam look or anything like that, just because I like the idea of looking slightly more polished and put together than I currently do. The problem is every time I try to look up recommendations, people are suggesting full routines that add up to over a hundred dollars and I just cannot justify that right now. So I'm looking for a makeup starter kit that stays under fifty dollars total. Nothing fancy just the basics that actually work and are worth having. I would rather have a few good products I know how to use than a bunch of stuff that sits in a drawer because it's too complicated.

What I'm going for is that natural looking thing where people think you look good but can't specifically identify what you're wearing. Light coverage, a little color something that makes me look more awake and like I have my life together even when I don't. The kind of makeup that looks like skin but better. I'm not trying to become someone who spends an hour getting ready. I just want to level up from mascara and lip gloss without spending a hundred dollars or needing a youtube tutorial to leave the house.

Please tell me I’m not the only one still mourning this lip serum 😭

This was my holy grail for YEARS. Nothing else made my lips feel as soft or actually healed them overnight the way this did.
Then it got discontinued. 😭
I’m going to run out soon, and now I’m panic-searching because the only ones I can find online are like $38 each. There’s no way I’m paying that for a ChapStick.
Has anyone found these somewhere for a normal price? Or is there a dupe that’s actually comparable? I’ve tried so many lip masks and balms over the years, and somehow none of them have come close.
Please tell me someone else loved this as much as I did and has found a replacement. I’m desperate. 😅

Best drugstore primer?

Looking for a good primer that lasts a long time and isn't known to cause breakouts. I'm a fan of the mac primer but not the price tag.

elf lash extendr mascara - why didn’t I discover it sooner?

I just bought a tube of this mascara and I only wish I had discovered it sooner.
My eyes have become sensitive since perimenopause hit and I could no longer use drugstore brands.
I love Chanel and Lancôme mascaras but they’re costly.
Elf’s lash extendr mascara goes in well and doesn’t irritate my eyes. And it’s easy on the wallet.
Now hopefully they don’t discontinue it

Maybelline Fit Me powder my beloved 😊 (I'm not sure if anyone else likes it, but it works very well for my oily, heavily textured PCOS skin!)

What makeup products are actually worth spending more money on?

I'm planning to buy some new makeup and don't want to spend extra money unless it's really worth it.

Which makeup products do you think are worth buying from expensive brands, and which ones are just as good from the drugstore?

I'd love to hear your recommendations and what has worked best for you. 😊

You're stranded on a deserted island...

On the horizon, Captain Coast Guard is coming to save you... When he comes into focus, you realize... Captain lookin fyneee fine. You glance down at your tattered fit and you realize, you must look a HOT mess. But suddenly, you remember that you still have your trusted, tried & true, go-to, absolute top notch favorite drugstore product that you kept in your pocket before everything else became fish food. And you thank the HEAVENS... because lawd knows, you overdue for a shag w/ a sexy seaman and that lifeboat looking quite room-y.

So... here's the question:

WHAT'S THE PRODUCT YOU'D WANT TO HAVE WITH YOU WHEN YOU ARE SAVED ON THE DESERTED ISLAND???

After trying 599,257 foundations. 💃🏾💅🏾

I’m in awe. After trying 599,257 foundations/tints. I finally tried the Loreal serum and I’m in love. I’ve tried and own drugstore and high end and I’ll admit this is one of my favs. I’m going on 9 hours and it looks so good. Never mind the marks on my nose from my shades lol.

Tips for Infallible Blur-Fection Powder

Okay this may be obvious/dumb but.... I really like this powder, and it's my second time buying it however....

I'm having such a hard time getting the last bit of the powder out of these sifter holes!! I find myself playing around with it and tapping it all sorts of ways just to get a bit out 😭.

Legit just want to use it all up before buying a new one!!

My White Whale : That perfect cool-toned, pink nude lipstick 🌸

I LOVE pinky nudes but finding the one with the perfect depth and undertone can be so elusive (I still haven't found The One). You find a great shade only for color theory to wreck it for you, making it turn too peach/too coral/too warm and whathaveyounot.

Nevertheless, I have managed to accumulate some nice pinks and enjoy them for most part (although they misbehave sometimes) :

Swatches in order:

  • MUR IRL Filter Finish lip liner - Caramel Syrup

  • Revlon Satin Ink liquid lipstick - Partner in Crime

  • Sunnies Face Fluffmatte - Kitsch

  • L'oreal Color Riche Satin Lipstick- Saucy Mauve

  • Wet n Wild High Shine lipstick - Rose and Slay

  • Peripera Ink Mood Glowy Tint - Cooling Pink

  • Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint PK004

  • Maybelline Creamy Matte - Smitten

  • Maybelline Lifter Gloss - Moon

4-5 swipes for each swatch, swatches are just a tad brighter in pics

🌿 MUR IRL Filter Finish lip liner Caramel Syrup : a pale pink on me (it's looking deeper on arm swatch), this is a pretty useless product for me, it disappears within 30 minutes. I use it nowadays to swatch it against lipstick testers in stores.

🌿 Revlon Satin Ink Partner in Crime , it's a beige-y pink, more neutral on me. I first thought this would be close to perfect but idk why it changes color every time I apply. Applies perfectly when fresh, but gets darker+pinker by the time my makeup is finished and leaves a much deeper tint. Once in a blue moon, it will stay perfectly muted and light 🤷‍♀️. Also, as compared to another shade I have from this range, this one flakes a bit more after eating.

🌿 Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Kitsch – Love the texture and finish of this, looks like a mousse, but A LOT of people in my country who got this brand's products complained of mold issues, so idk about this brand. It behaves similar to Revlon Satin Ink one on me, shade wise, applied fresh it is a muted pink-nude, but then it does get a bit of that pastel-peach undertone later. Lasting power is quite good for a bullet lipstick. I do like wearing it cos it is the most muted pink I have n goes well with bolder eye looks.

🌿 L'oreal Saucy Mauve is so beautiful  🩷 – no turning peach, no dark tint, doesn't disappear in 1 hour. The mauve tone makes it a perfect winter nude too. I kinda don't use this much cos I don't want to run out 🥲. The OG L'oreal lipsticks are goated for a reason. I feel the newer launches of L'oreal lipsticks do not have the variety and versatility like the og range.

🌿 WnW Rose and Slay is a such a natural pink-mauve shade for my complexion, the kind of shade that makes you check yourself out in the mirror repeatedly ☺️. This has a balmy finish and sheer so you have to apply multiple times. Unfortunately the lipstick has zero longevity, it's gone in around 30-40 min. I'd love a long lasting version of this. Lately, I've been wearing this under another L'oreal bullet lipstick 'Spiced Cider' (to cool down latter's brown-red tones), love the combo.

🌿 Peripera Ink Mood Glowy Tint Cooling Pink tint is also a super beautiful baby pink color but the glossiness dies down in 30 minutes, leaving a light tint.  I need to touch up more often than I like as my lips start feeling dry. It isn't as long lasting for me as I expected.

🌿 The Etude water gel PK004 (in old ice cream stick packaging) one lasts longer than Peripera and it leaves a dark pink stain on me. This shade became darker in the tube after a few months. I like this one too, the gel-tint texture is so smooth and soft on the lips , but this range is repackaged now and idk if the new range has this shade.

🌿 The Maybelline creamy matte one , the shade is discontinued now I think. It's a barbie pink that looks cute when I dab on the lips lightly. I mostly use this to alter the colors of all my too warm/too orange/too brown lipsticks.

🌿 Maybelline Lifter Gloss is the best gloss I have used (tbh I haven't used many) , it stays longer than others I tried and the biggest thing- it doesn't dry out my lips, I don't make a mad scamper for a lip balm after it has vanished. This is pretty sheer and not a cool toned pink, but since it is mentioned in reviews as pinky nude sometimes, I put it here.

Obligatory hateful fist-shaking at brands like L'oreal, Maybelline and Revlon who don't release their best cool-toned pinks in my country (India) and give us all the strange concoctions of brown and red (and YET I haven't found a great brown nude!!!!)
