[OC] The most dangerous encounters start with a warm bed and a locked cellar door... Welcome to Restless Hill Inn [35x20][Free Maps]
Fountain Plaza 40x40
This is the companion set to my dungeon from yesterday found here. The downward stairs and manhole covers have corresponding stairs and ladders over there.
Link to Gridded versions and one alternative to the street level found here along with the sewer map at a slightly lower quality than the original post, 120ppi instead of 128, to keep it in line with these.
These are all 40x40 at 120ppi.
From left to right starting from the top we have:
The money lender/credit union linked to a pawn shop. Both are fronts for the local thieves guild. I plan on doing another map for their lair below the sewers at a later date.
Small bakery with residence above.
Blacksmith
Local HQ for a trading company
Tenement buildings
Guard house
Tailor and Cobbler with residence above
Magic item/antique shop
Roman style public toilets
Tavern with detached bunkhouse and stable
Where can I find tutorials on how to use Dungeondraft?
I wanted a program to make maps for my ongoing 1920s Call of Cthulhu campaign I’m running, bought dungeondraft, booted it up and I have no clue what I’m doing or looking at. All the tutorials I found on a quick search on YouTube were several years old so quite possibly very dated. Can anyone point me towards tutorials for someone who has no knowledge of the program at all?

Gun Runner’s Warehouse [15 x 15]
Moving along dark edges of the criminal underworld, gun runner Angus “Mayhem” O’Malley provides illicit weapons for a price. He stays under the radar, keeps his mouth shut, and never misses a drop. He and a few trusted associates operate out of secret well-stocked warehouse.
The Gun Runner Map features a ground floor and upper loft levels in day and night versions. It is available in gridded/gridless JGP [256 dpi], gridless PNG [128 dpi], and lit/unlit VTT [70 dpi] formats at https://www.patreon.com/GimmiePig.
This map pack was created (by a human) with Dungeon Draft software and assets from the amazing asset creators listed on my profile.

Custom Layers/Levels?
Was hoping someone can confirm my understanding of the difference of levels and layers in DD, as well as comment on a attempted edit that resulted in a map hanging on load.
In Dungeondraft, levels are separate floors or stacked map states, while layers are the internal drawing/asset organization within a single level. So on a given level, if I draw a wall, it will sit on top of terrain. And if I fill a polygon shaped by a wall with a floor pattern, that lands on top of terrain. And if I place any objects, it sits on top of the floor (or terrain if 'outdoors').
I had been on hiatus from DD for a couple of years and was refreshing myself with some video tuts. One from Baileywiki concerned itself with editing properties in DD via notepad++, and I remembered I had done exactly that with a map to help me with filters that worked pretty good for shadows and lights.
I applied the lesson from that video to a map I was working on, creating a couple of extra custom layers (though in the file, it's labelled as a "level"...which got me doubting my understanding of the two terms). According to the video, you right click on the map, select edit with notepad++, and under the "Levels" section make the edit.
The two layers (levels?) i added were the 500: Shadows, and 600: Lighting. Again, based on my understanding of the hierarchy of the layers.
Unfortunately, this edit has caused the map to hang upon loading. It will load a rather large library of Forgotten Adventures assets, and then when it gets to Krager's Shadow-Light Pack it just gets stuck in a loop of loading.
Then I attempted to load the map without Krager's pack selected in the asset list, but DD ignores the instruction and attempts to load it anyway. This is particularly puzzling because I have not laid out any shadows in the map, all I've got on the map is the walls and a few select areas having a floor pattern. I even have the default shadow button toggled off.
So I'm wondering if the tutorial on editing the map's layers is no longer possible, or if its a peculiarity of Krager's asset pack? Or if I borked up the editing any?
Dungeondraft not starting
Solved: After uninstalling all programs manually again to a point where DD worked again I installed every program one by one with checking afterwards, whether DD still works, and then restart the PC and check again after every single program it kept working, until all programs were installed. I couldn't figure out the reason for it to not start, but maybe if someone has that problem at some point, my strategy wight work to for them.
Hey everyone. I already postet my problem some time ago, that Dungeondraft doesn start on my PC anymore. The program used to work just finde except of the usual crashes from time to time. But at one point it didn't start enymore, you just see the Dungeondraft letters when you start it and thats it, it doesn't react anymore. I guessed back then, that for some reasons there are some settings changed or whatever (even though I didn't change anything on my system).
So now, for some other problems, I reinstalled Windows and hoped, that this will fix the issue. But it didn't. Since I kept my settings and data for that, I thought "ok, maybe there are still some interfering things in the system, so I tried again, this time also deleting all the data. But it's still not working. Is it possible, that DD hast a problem with the latest version of windows itself? I mean the drive was completely emptied and Windows set up newly, I can't imagine, what else could still cause problems... It's really frustrating, that nobody can figure out, what causes that and not even a new installation of Windows can fix this problem, even though DD already ran on this PC. I run on Win 11 Home 25H2, system build 26200.8737
Edit: I uninstalled it via the uninstall.exe in the installation folder and installed it again, then it worked again for some reason. Now I installed my other normal programs again and it's back to not working same way as before.
Kind of excited that I figured out how to simulate tv glow in a dark room. DungeonDraft is so cool!
[30x30] Multifloor Mansion Basement Acid Ritual
Hi, I am Snowy from Snowy's Maps! I create immersive content for TTRPGs, with epic battlemaps and ready-to-run DnD5e and PF2e sessions and oneshots for Dungeon Masters.
Hello everyone, I am back a two level mansion and a basement with a twist! Meet the owner of this grandiose estate, Malakor, a middle-aged diplomat that invites you kindly to his humble abode. Except, his invitation is foreboding. Everything looks normal, I swear, just don't go to the basement. You might uncover all sorts of horrors there! My aim with this map was to add a little bit of mystery in the basement, with passageways "hidden" behind bookshelves and a large frame. The story goes that Malakor inherited this estate as a family friend after they mysteriously vanished...except this was not the case, which you will discover!
If you would like full access to the map at its full resolution, check out the main post here:

Considering buying the base application,
And was wondering a few things.
Does anyone have experience with taking the map files to a printer, like Office Depot or Staples and having them lrinted/laminated? Primarily looking to use it as a physical asset, so curious.
Also would love to hear experiences of first time users who have stuck with it.
considering a purchase
I am new to campaign building and I have scoured the internet looking for a good custom map builder. Give me some intel on this!
Not done yet but a WIP of the map im making for the Alskraema Caravanserai from the Alexandrian Remix of Descent into Avernus
We here at the wolves den LOVE the idea of the "elfscream" tavern that the alexandrian has in it! what we dont really love is pulling up an empty dysonmaps map and calling it good. so we are working on our own version of the caravanserai, one with a bit more detail.
This is still a WIP but im going to be releasing the fully finished version on Patreon when it is done for my subscribers!
