SGA Sell Time

12T, 9cat league

Ok so I’m making this post not as somebody who’s actively trying to move off of SGA but as someone who’s doing his due diligence. I’m not selling Shai for less than what he’s worth, which is a top 3 dynasty asset. He helped get my team to the championship so I have no reason to move him.

That being said, he’s almost 28 and I get in the grand scheme of things, that’s not that old, but his value will continue to slide the older he gets, especially once he hits 30. And I’d rather get out a year early than a year late. So I’m just curious who or what you would be comfortable selling him for if you were in my shoes?

I had a substantial offer involving Dylan Harper the other day but I didn’t jump on it fast enough and by the time I made up my mind to go for it, the manager bailed. And idk if there’s another player that I like as much as Harper but maybe I’m missing a guy.

Thoughts on Matas Buzelis?

Hey guys, starting to do some deep-dives on interesting players from last season to get a feel for where they sit next season. I was big on Matas Buzelis coming into this season but not high enough to draft in most places. That worked out until his minutes jumped in the back half of the season as the Bulls tanked and he put up impressive numbers.

Welcome any feedback on how I'm structuring these, other views you're interested in, or players you'd like to see.

You can see the charts I reference below here: https://imgur.com/a/1YjhJqb

Last Season

The second half improvement plays out in his numbers. His Z score climbs from ~2 in the first half of the season (pre Feb 13) to 4.3 the rest of the season driven by increases in points, rebounds, steals and 3s. (Chart 1)

His points per game jumped from 15 to 20 off the back of increased volume and only subtle changes in overall percentages. (Chart 2)

However, jumping under the hood shows a significant change in his shot diet with fewer shots in the restricted area (40% of total to 27%) and an increase in above the break 3s (33% to 47%). This is pretty common to see as usage increases, still, 47% is a massive number. (Chart 3)

One slight concern, he hit 51% of his corner 3s in the second half of the season, up from 35% in the first half. That number will probably come back a bit. However, it was only 11% of his shots and unlikely to massively shift his overall value. (Chart 3)

A lot of his value comes from his elite block rate, particularly for a SF-eligible player. This held up under increased minutes and usage in the second half of the season (1.6p/g), which is encouraging. In fact, his block rate was amazingly stable over the course of the year. As always, we need to be careful with players who derive a lot of value from high variance defensive stats, particularly younger players taking on increased roles. (Chart 4)

I'm encouraged by his FT% trend. He was 81% in his first season but fell to 78% this season. That number did trend upwards after a slow start. There's reason to be optimistic that he can be back above 80% next year. (Chart 7)

Outlook

Bumping his minutes up to 32p/g and his usage up to 25% would make him around a top 50 player, before we account for any performance improvements. The Bulls will be adding a significant rookie piece in the off-season, and have a new front office who will make other adjustments. Given how they've featured Buzelis so far, and the dearth of available talent on the roster I think it's safe to say he'll be a part of next season. (Chart 5)

Given he's still 21, his size and statistical profile, we can feel good about projecting performance improvements into next season. (Chart 6)

Which side

I’m skeptical of kevin porters production. I’m sure trey murphy will do his usual thing on a struggling pelicans team. Let me know. I’m the one giving kat and the second but need second opinions!

Chinese Jokic

Yang is still eligible to be on my taxi squad but I’ve got too many players on my roster and have to drop 1-2 players. Yang showed virtually nothing his rookie year and was wondering if it’d be crazy to drop him. Worried he could blossom in year 2 as Rob Williams looks to be leaving Portland.

Joker value

I own arguably the worst team in the leagues pick ( also somehow has Jokic) was wondering if offering his pick back + bane and two 1RP in 28 and 29 would be enough for joker . Thanks

Any space?

New to dynasty basketball but really want to get involved. Does anyone have a space in a league or wants to create a new dynasty startup?

How to evaluate Derik Queen

14T 9 cat, how would yall value Derik Queen? Semi contending with some youth but mostly at guard and wing spots

How are yall looking at him in trades of rank range?

Thinking of trading the 1.05

I’m more of a win now team. I’ve got some youth like ware, scoot, traore, KG, and JA. After that is all dudes 29 years old and up that avg 30+ a night. Was thinking of trading the 1.05 which I woulda snagged Acuff for s Mitch to get the ring.

Which side

Cooper Flagg
or
2026 1.02 + 2026 1.06

12 team points league dynasty. Curious how people are valuing Flagg compared to what’s shaping up to be a loaded 2026 class. Would you rather lock in the elite prospect or take the flexibility/two premium shots?

Interested to hear thoughts

I currently have 1.02, 1.04 and 1.06 coming off of a championship.

Jalen Duren.

Well, what do we do with Duren? He is my best center in a 12 team lock in league. My other bigs include Queen, Jabari Smith, Edey, Mitchell Robinson, Kalkbrenner, Maluach, and Ighodaro. Obviously this would be a “sell low” time to get rid of him, but do we foresee a return to glory, or will he end up as a Jarrett Allen lite? Just wondering what thoughts are right now

Jabari & Pritchard or Brandon Ingram?

I had this trade lined up with another league mate while I had Booker and pick 1.09 ready for Keyonte George in my inbox. I was going to have way too many players/depth to take on Book and the pick, so I decided to bite the bullet and send Jabari and PP for Ingram.

I am now down a center with only Chet and Ayton, but can easily use pick 1.09 to pick up Aday, which would be so nice if he gets drafted to the warriors.

What do yall think about this? Even with these 2 “older” add ons, my age avg on my team is 25 without my rookies. Which I LOVE.

Which side ya’ll taking?

10t, head to head points league.

Palo + draft capital or Barnes

My league mate sent me Banchero and his 2027 draft pick that is likely 1.01-1.03, my team is pretty deep and I really like Palo even though he got a lot of hate this year. I love stokes but my team is pretty good so I’ll likely not be able to make a push for him, so I took this trade. What do you guys think?

AJ or DP or Booz

I have pick 1.1 but am not sure who to take. I guess it’s all dependent on who goes where, but if the top 2 or 3 are so close in value in many people’s eyes …. Would a swap from 1 to 2 with another piece added, like pick 7 be fair or too high of an asking price.

I send pick 1 and get pick 2 and 7.

I think AJ is better, but would be happy with Peterson and actually that fits my roster better. So this could be a win win for me. Would you offer this?

Also, seems like half the people think Booz is going to be alright, kind of not exciting. And half the people think he is better than both for fantasy. Why is Memphis all of a sudden some fantasy destination for rookies? Does anyone really think Trey and AD will play 82 games combined? That’s a bet I’d be willing to take plus I doubt there 3+ year plan in Washington involves those flakes. But that’s just my opinion. So I don’t think Memphis pick is auto ROY or in much different position that pick 1 or 2.

If it helps, I have :

Pick 1
Pick 5
Pick 17
Pick 20

Tatum
Mitchell
Franz
Buzi
Kon K

Lot of F already so I do need G and C, but I’m not trying to win it all next year, so positional balance wouldn’t be as important as Best Available.
