Noticed this noise awhile back. Sort of a weird wooshing/ticking noise at certain rpm’s under load, but not noticeable stationary which is even stranger
Any ideas?

I bought my 2006 e61 with an intermittent wipers glitch. Sometimes they would go haywire and refuse to stop when prompted a single swoosh. Or sometimes they would stop in the middle of the windshield and refuse to elaborate further.

I also got a used replacement wiper linkage complete with a motor, it was in the trunk of the car. On further inspection, the motor was a wrong one (maybe LCI, I don't know), so it didn't work when installed after buying the car.

Back then I just stuffed the old linkage back in and lived with the glitch. Today, out of curiosity, I opened up the replacement motor. Turned to be a very simple and straightforward job. I found it full of corrosion sludge, completely munted.

So I ripped out the motor from the car, opened it up as well, gave it a clean, replaced the grease, polished the contacts and threw it back on. Works like a charm now.

After you go through the hassle of taking out the wiper linkage, the rest is really simple, just six small bolts, and you get access to the whole mechanism. It has four contact pads and a copper contact ring on the plastic gear. Clean the contacts, clean out the dirt and sludge, grease up the motor screw and save yourself money on the replacement.

EDIT: just realized what else I missed last time when attempting the job. After you're done with the motor, throw the assembly back on the car, plug the motor in and check if it works BEFORE putting the wipers on and assembling everything that goes on top of the linkage. Seems obvious, but I managed to miss it.

So for anyone who has a hard time bleeding your brakes after replacing parts. I replaced the front calipers, lines, master cylinder and brake booster. I was only able to get a solid pedal, under pressure and with the engine off, soon as the engine started it would fail and loose pressure. I was told to try to bleed it at the abs pump when doing the bled procedure with ISTA. In other words dont open the bleeder at the caliper each time you activate the abs in ista, you crack the corresponding line leading to the wheel ista is cycling the silinoid for.

Well after 2 weeks I finally got all the air out.

Hi, so I recently bought a 2008 550i for what I thought was a pretty great price. It had codes for the cats but I thought it was whatever. Turns out I need the valve stem seals replaced. My question is whether I should take it to a regular local mechanics shop or whether I should just take it to the closest BMW dealership. If anyone else has had similar issues with the N62 please give me a clue as to where I should go.

I have a 2007 525d lci with xenon headlights. The angel eyes/daytime running lights went out the other day, and I can’t find the correct bulbs. Anyone have a picture?
Also, I realized that the inner headlight projectors don’t light up. Anyone who knows what that may be?

Is this good gas mileage for these cars?

I have a strange wheel shaking on my e60 530D 2005

The shaking starts somewhere around 95-100kmh and stops at around 115 kmh , sometimes severe when i start driving. sometimes after a long drive it goes away, I highly doubt that it has something to do with the wheels or tires, since new tires are installed and i have 2 sets of wheels, all ballanced and aligned a month ago. but the problem keeps happenin. Do you think it has to do with brakes maybe? Or maybe central hub? Hub bearing? Btw. I have central rings from 74.1 to 72.6 so the wheels fit perfectly on the hub. Please advice it is driving me crazy..

Well guys! I have 2004 530d and my CCC Professional Unit is having weird issue. When i first start the car in the morning radio works fine and will work hours until i turn the car off. When i start it again radio will go into reboot loop and wont start until the next morning? How can i resolve this issue?

My car was hit by an old lady. I never noticed but the rear quarter panel is basically this huge piece that is essentially the entire side of the car. I'm almost at 300k miles. My car runs perfect and engine is very well taken care of. What are the chances she will get totaled?

I love my e60. I had big plans for next year. Was planning to swap the transmission to a 8 speed and possibly do a rebuild to add a super charger :(. Literally just messaged someone selling a 2011 F25 with a blown engine for $1400. So I could rip out the transmission from it.
