Card authenticator called out listing discrepancy, photographed ‘bent corner’

The corner of the card is not bent and they sent a blurry photograph to show it. Buyer initiated a return request. I think the authenticator is in the wrong. Any recourse?

Listing removed because of Tobacco Policy, but I'm not selling Tobacco...

Context: I am selling vintage playing cards that were marketed by a former cigarette company Winston. I read their tobacco policy and these playing cards do NOT violate their policy. However, their AI bot flagged the listing and told me to remove it or appeal it. So i appealed it, showing the photos of the playing cards that were actually part of the original listing, and was granted the decision to keep it posted... 2 days later it was flagged again, by the same AI bot, and again, I appealed it with photos. This time the appeal was denied, and gave no reason except that it violated the tobacco policy, but didn't tell me what specifically... because i actually read it, and it doesn't. Any advice on what to do except to not list it and try to sell it somewhere else?

Need opinion on "as advertised" issue with camera lens

I sold a 150mm f3.5 mamiya lens that I just had lying around for a while. It went to a buyer in South Korea and shipped from the east coast USA. It took maybe about a month to get to SK. In my opinion, it was clean, I made sure it was wiped down before shipping, the glass was very clean.

The listing states that the glass “appears clean and clear with no obvious fungus, haze, scratches, or separation when inspected under normal lighting. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description and represent the exact item being sold.
As with any vintage photographic equipment, this item is being sold in used condition. While it appears to function as intended, no guarantees are made regarding long-term performance due to the age of the equipment"

I take this very seriously and am not here to be scamming people on cameras lenses as I have been scammed on lens condition before.

The buyer states - "I noticed a large number of small white spots distributed throughout the glass.
I used a bright light in the attached photos simply to make the issue easier to photograph, but the spots are also visible to the naked eye when the lens is held up to ordinary indoor lightingSo this is not something that is only visible under an unusually strong flashlight inspection."

They are asking for a partial refund for this.
In my opinion, it is not my responsibility for what happens to it on the one month journey that it took to get there.
Right hand to God, that is not the condition that I sent it out in. It was very very clean and what they are claiming is not the condition it was sent in..

Please let me know your thoughts and how I should proceed. (I have sold like 4 things ever on ebay, this is not a business for me)
First pics are mine, then the buyers

listing photos are not touched up or altered in any way. That is how they came out on my camera

Buyer said their address is wrong, they need to update it. I haven’t shipped yet

Hi everyone! I’m new to reselling. I have a buyer that purchased an item yesterday, I created the label but haven’t shipped it out just yet. What’s the best way to handle the address change?

Thanks!!

Buyer opened “item defective” return after confirming correct item/size sent

Looking for advice from experienced eBay sellers.

I sold a buyer a custom bundle of 3 items. Before ordering, we agreed through eBay messages on the exact sizing/details, and the listing was set to no returns.

The buyer received the items and told me they liked them, but said the fit was different from other items they own from the same manufacturer.

I confirmed that the items sent matched what was ordered, and the buyer then explicitly acknowledged in eBay messages that they received the correct size/details. Their issue is simply that the fit feels different from comparable items they already own.

They asked to exchange everything for a different size. I wasn’t able to offer an exchange because the items were imported, the listing was no returns, and an international exchange from the U.S. back to Canada would be extremely expensive.

The buyer has now opened a return for approximately C$442, but selected “Doesn’t work or defective.” In the comments, they essentially say that the item doesn’t fit the same as other products they own from the same manufacturer.

Because they chose a defective-item reason, eBay is only showing me options to accept the return or offer a refund. There’s no option to decline based on my no-returns policy.

I’m currently waiting to speak with eBay support and plan to ask them to review the messages where the buyer explicitly confirms that they received exactly what they ordered.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Can eBay reclassify or close a return when the buyer chooses a defective/INAD-type reason but their own messages show that the real issue is fit? Should I wait for support before accepting anything?

I have screenshots of the full conversation, the listing’s no-return policy, the order details, and the buyer confirming that the items received matched what was ordered.

Large/Heavy Items - Shipping Preference?

Im wondering what is yalls experience and recommendations/preferences are for large, heavy, or bulky items. I am listing something that I can see sells for 30-50$ depending on quality, but it is 6 lbs... so the USPS listing is 50-150$ shipping. The UPS listing is 20-70$ and FedEx is about the same. Ive always listed as "buyer pays".

However, the same item is available from others at 150-200$ with free shipping. I am located in TX.. not centrally located in the USA. What would be your recommendation on selling shipping preferences for this?

With such a wide range.. Im inclined to keep it as "buyer pays" and lower the initial cost. How would you handle this?

Negative earnings on sale?

Hello,

So I listed a cooler on eBay for Buy it now. I listed the Buy it now price for $2.99. I had the buyer pay for shipping. Well someone purchased it (yay), and when I chose the shipping label with what the buyer chose, my only choice was for $10.43.

Order total: $9.81

eBay collected from buyer
Sales tax: -$0.25

Selling costs: -$1.63

Shipping label: -$10.43

Ad Fee General: -$1.28

Total earnings: -$3.78

Has this ever happened to someone? I lost $3.78 on a sale for item that was $2.99.

I never experienced this.

PAYOUTS ARE SO LONG

Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a fantastic summer. I just wanted to ask does anyone know what the requirements are for funds processing after 24 hours after buyer paying? I am currently on funds 7 day after delivery, but I heard there is a threshold to get 24 hour processing. Does any ebay worker have any insight on this or any experienced person?

Item data info- useful or not?

Hey there, I am wondering if anyone has any meaningful insight about whether item data actually drives sale. Let's take the random example of Mario Kart Wii

If you make a ebay listing with a title that says: Mario Kart Wii - Complete with manual and leave it blank, how much does that effect the chances of sales vs a full complete listing where all boxes under item "data" are filled out and it says

Item name: Mario Kart Wii
Platform: Nintendo Wii
Publisher: Nintendo
Genre: Racing

etc. filling in these type of details is taking a lot of time for me and just want to know if it actually does anything useful?

USPS Clerk Requesting Firm Sheet for >5 Packages

Is there a new policy for providing a firm sheet if you are dropping off more than five packages at USPS? This is what I was told by the clerk at my PO today when dropping off six ground advantage items. I bring 2-10 packages to USPS for scanning and drop off once or twice a week. I casually sell items via several different apps, so the labels are purchased through different vendors each time (eBay, Poshmark, Vinted, Pirate Ship). Because the labels are purchased from different sources, I am not sure how to create a firm sheet. I also read that you can’t make an insurance claim for items received via firm sheet, but I pay for the insurance on my packages and want to use it if needed. Any info or tips would be helpful!

Camera haptics

I don't know if it's from a recent update but my Android camera haptics stopped working. I cleared the cache, forced stop even reinstalled. Checked all the camera settings turned haptics off, turned back on still no help. Any idea if eBay has been trying to fix yet again another camera problem?

Shipped large/expensive item to PO Box. Buyer has not picked it up yet.

Could use some advice on a recent eBay sale. First time poster here fwiw. I’ve been selling on eBay for over 15 years.

A few weeks ago I had any largest sale ever (over $1500 item). Not only was it my biggest sale from a value standpoint but it was also the largest/heaviest item I’ve ever had to ship. Unfortunately, the person who bought it lives on the other side of the country. They paid over $250 in shipping fees alone. Shipping this was a whole endeavor in itself. Their mailing address was a PO Box. I contacted the buyer several times to see if they could provide an actual home address for the delivery so I had more shipping options. I sent 4 messages and they never responded. They were a new account who had made the purchase the same day that they made their account. The name, address and phone number seemed legit so I had no reason to question the authenticity of the buyer. The money cleared into my account immediately.

UPS was not an option to print a label through eBay. FedEx was an option but I got mixed feedback on whether or not FedEx would actually delivery to a USPS PO Box. I eventually decided to ship via USPS even though it cost me nearly $200 more than FedEx would have and over $100 more than the buyer even paid for shipping (there was no discount I guess due to size). I figured that it would be safer if there never had to be any transfer between carriers. I paid for full shipping insurance and signature at delivery. The box was huge… nearly the max limit. 69 lbs, 24x24x30.

It finally made it to its destination but checking the tracking number, it looks as if the person has made no attempt to pick the item up. It’s as if they forgot that they even bought it. I’m worried that the item would get returned to me. I really do not want this very large and very fragile package coming across country again. Would I be subject to refunding the buyer if that happens? Should I try to contact the buyer again? Or reach out to the post office? Any advice would be appreciated.

TLDR: Very large, very valuable and very fragile packaged shipped across country to PO Box. Buyer has made no attempt to pick it up and has not responded to communication through eBay. Concerned item will be returned to me and I will have to refund and eat the additional cost I paid in shipping.

Item arrived damage but buyer wants to keep it and repair it

They provided many images, the box and statue were damaged despite it being packaged well. They want to keep it however as it should be a simple repair (a human characters arm fell off, looks like it can inserted back and glued). However, they want a refund. The item sold for $200 including shipping, USPS ground advantage insures up to $100 of value.

Do I provide a full refund and eat the hit, losing out on about $100 after the claim goes through? Or do I only do a partial refund since they want to keep the item?

Ebay sent my return to my old address.

I was wondering what could I do if eBay submitted a return label to my buyer without confirming with me my address. Now I see they sent the return to my old address which I have no access to . And now they want me to pay them because they already refund the buyer Although I never received my merchandise.
any idea what should I do now?
