Payment Dispute - Buyer Doesn't Recognize Transaction

Just had one of these pop up today.

Item was ordered 6/29 and ebay label shows delivered to buyer 7/3.

Surprisingly, ebay didn't yank out or freeze the $193.04 transaction total from my funds at all.

>Your buyer filed a payment dispute for an order placed on June 29, 2026. This means that they disputed a charge directly with their payment institution. They are requesting $179.99 back and the reason for this dispute is that the buyer did not recognize the transaction.

>The good news is that you’re protected for this dispute under eBay seller protection policy. We'll close this dispute once we receive the dispute outcome from the buyer’s payment institution. You're not required to take any action right now. If the buyer updates the dispute, we will let you know if any further action is required.

DIM Weight

I know the divisor for DIM weight is changing and the amounts charged will be more. My question is, does DIM weight still apply only to packages over a cubic foot (1728 cu. In.)?

Buyer dropped off UPS return to wrong carrier (USPS). What can I do?

Recently had a buyer initiate a return, all was fine as well (Return reason was fair, product I sent had issues and it wasn't a made up issue, was a common issue these units had that I've had other returns in the past), so I sent him a UPS ground saver label and marked it as UPS in return. ($500 package)

Buyer dropped it off and then I noticed an hour later that it said package was in my local post office (Weird since guy is on the other coast) so I immediately messaged buyer asking where he dropped it off and sure enough he dropped it to USPS.

I messaged him immediately to go back to USPS and try to get the package back since I know USPS disposes of UPS Ground saver packages but according to him its already too late. His Clerk says it should arrive just fine but online says a different story.

Now question is what do I do? I plan on waiting on the package just in case it arrives fine but if USPS disposes of the package am I responsible to provide the refund? Since on the return I did mark it as UPS https://imgur.com/a/3sQr6QQ .

I've also learned a valuable lesson in this to never let a buyer touch a UPS ground saver label. Only UPS Ground & USPS Ground for now on

Been selling full time now for 5 years and have never had this happen. I reported the message to eBay, is there any other course of action I should pursue? The user has 1 feedback and account is 10 days old.

Is QR Code for Bulk Label Possible

Relatively new seller here. Just had my first instance where the same buyer made 4 offers on different listings, which I accepted all 4. All 4 had their payments processed instantly. I have only ever used the QR code method through the app for shipping as I do not have a printer, plus the QR process is super easy. But, I don't see any options to combine these shipments on the app, but did locate the bulk label page on the website. I can combine them, which saves quite a bit of money, but it seems to not mention anything about QR codes and just asks what kind of paper size I want to print. I don't want to print anything if it can be helped.

If I use the bulk label process, will I get a QR code? If not, would it be possible to get a QR code for a single one of the items in the app, then package them all in the same box and ship with that code and afterwards use that tracking number for the remaining 3 items?

Just trying not to screw it up. Thanks!

Reminder: USPS is OPEN today Friday 7/3. Closed tomorrow (Sat) for July 4th

HOWEVER, note that eBay is treating 7/3 as a 'shipping holiday' and says any late shipping penalties for 'missed' shipments today will be removed/protected.

Buyer claimed keys are yellowed. They look a bit dirty, but not yellowed.

I did clean the keys of the keyboard before I sold it off. They keys were just dirty, not yellowed at all, that could be what the buyer might be referring to, but I for one don’t see any yellowing. The keyboard looks white to me. It’s not pristine white of course but it’s white enough.

USPS Never Scanned My Package, Buyer Left Negative Feedback. Can it be removed?

A buyer purchased a baseball bat on June 21, and I shipped it the next day with over 10 other packages during a scheduled USPS pickup. Every other package was delivered, but this one never updated past "Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item." It never received a single scan.

After 10 days, the buyer messaged me saying I never shipped it and immediately left negative feedback before I could explain. I refunded them in full right away and told them they could keep the bat if it ever shows up.
I had 100% positive feedback before this, and this is the first time something like this has happened in nearly 1,000 orders.

Has anyone had eBay remove feedback in a case like this, where the package was shipped but USPS never scanned it?

Advice on a tampering claim through ebay authenticity guarantee

Hi all, I need advice on a tampering claim through ebay authenticity guarantee

I sold my louis vuitton neverfull GM through ebay authenticity guarantee. After shipping/delivery the buyer claimed the bag smelled like a smoker’s home, had dog hair on it, and had stains in the interior pocket… i don’t smoke, never have. i don’t own dogs. the original authentication report from before i shipped confirmed the bag in excellent condition (how I listed it) on june 8th. none of her claims appeared in that report.

The return got approved anyway despite the original report showing nothing. multiple reps agreed with me throughout this process, one flagged the buyer’s account internally and said new damage not present in the original report should result in rejection not approval. still got approved somehow.

The bag came back to me two days ago. the white stain she filed her entire claim on is gone. she very clearly tried scrubbing it out before shipping it back to me. her own return photos clearly show a white stain in the interior pocket (attached here). what i received back is dark destroyed fabric in that exact same spot where she tried to remove it. the weave is permanently altered. if i sent her a stained bag why would she clean it before returning it? you wouldn’t. you’d preserve the evidence. the only reason to scrub out a stain before a return is if you caused it yourself and didn’t want it confirmed on the second authentication.

beyond that the base of the bag came back with brownish grime and white residue that wasn’t there before. new chalky mark on the exterior canvas. pen marks inside the bag not present in my listing. food crumbs found in the pochette. she left food in my bag. she filed the return about a day after receiving the bag. i think she took it out, had a night, spilled something, panicked, and filed the return hoping the second authentication wouldn’t catch what she did.I have attached pictures here of my listing, the buyers return claim photos, and the condition of my bag when I received the return.

i called ebay the same day i got it back. was told tampering is a separate and more serious claim than a standard return dispute and i have 5 days from delivery to pursue it. the rep sent me a link following the phone call to submit my listing photos, buyers return photos, and current condition photos showing three different states of the same bag.

one of the reps i spoke to tried to reassure me by saying people resell damaged bags all the time and that i’d get some money back... that’s not the point. i know i can resell it. the point is a buyer lied, used my bag, tampered with the evidence, and is being rewarded for it while i’m left cleaning up her mess on a deadline.

has anyone won a tampering claim through ebay authenticity guarantee? what should i expect and is there anything else i should be doing right now? it’s been 2 days since i got the bag back and filed the appeal and i’ve heard nothing. i sold this to fund a medical procedure and i’m watching the clock run out.

TL:DR: sold authenticated LV neverfull GM, buyer claimed stains/smoke/dog hair, none of which were in the original authentication report. return got approved anyway. bag came back with the stain she complained about scrubbed out and replaced with permanent fabric damage, plus new dirt, pen marks, and food crumbs. pursuing a tampering claim within the 5 day window. has anyone won one of these?

Lost Package - eBay International Standard Delivery - $1000

On June 1, I sold a Garmin watch for just under $1,000 to an international buyer in South Africa.

When purchasing a shipping label through eBay, I was given the option to use eBay International Standard Delivery. It was a little cheaper than the other options and appeared to offer similar services and protections, so I went with it. The only thing I noticed at the time was that it didn't allow me to purchase additional insurance, which was something I would have wanted on a package of this value.

After purchasing the label, I shipped the package via USPS to Asendia's facility in Bell, CA, with the label they provided.

According to the tracking, the package was received by Asendia and was dispatched from their Bell, CA facility on June 10. After that, it appears to have been transferred to PostNord. The last tracking update I can find is from June 11, when PostNord shows the package departing their sorting hub in Los Angeles, CA (see tracking screenshots).

I've also checked the tracking number through the Universal Postal Union Track & Trace system, and it only shows the same June 11 PostNord update.

At this point, it's been about 20 days since the last tracking update, and the buyer has now opened an INR claim.

For the best chance of either resolving the claim without having to issue a refund, receiving full compensation if the package ends up being lost, or otherwise resolving the situation without losing money, what would you recommend I do next?

TIA.

EDIT: This was NOT shipped through eBay's International Shipping Program and their hub. See the AI breakdown between the differences in the comments.

International buyer not responding to customs calls - package may return.

Sold on eBay, shipped via DHL Express to Germany (buyer paid, tracking active, package arrived at destination customs). DHL says they've tried calling the buyer multiple times to get clearance info and he hasn't picked up / hung up once. Screenshot of the current tracking status below.

I've messaged the buyer through eBay to ask him to respond to DHL, but no luck so far. Today may be the last attempt before it's returned.

A few questions for anyone who's dealt with this:

  • What usually happens to the buyer's payment if the package is returned to me undelivered, do I refund minus shipping?
  • Does this ever come back as an INR case against the seller, even though tracking clearly shows it was the importer not responding to customs?
  • Any tips for pushing this along faster on my end?

Tracking is fully documented on my end, package shipped fast, all handled correctly - just navigating the buyer-side customs holdup for the first time. Appreciate any experience-based advice!

Accepted buyer offer at 1245pm today and got hit with a dispute at 9:03pm today

Hello everyone happy early 4th just looking for a bit of advise on how to proceed with this. Buyer sent an offer at 12:51 PST today, I accept at 12:52 PST and then am hit with a payment dispute as shown in the picture, for the reason of "not receiving the item yet". I dont mind to refund it and be done but I just don't want to leave myself open to negative feedback from an obvious lie and fake reason just to cancel. Any help from more experienced sellers on how to navigate foward would be greatly appreciated. Please see picture attarched.

P.S. I have not shipped the item yet.

Update: Thank you all for the awesome advice and guidance on how to handle this. Listening to you all and the majority of what I was reading, I accepted the dispute and gave the refund. I also blocked the buyer, taking screen shots of certain information including address, message history, offer history, and timelines to protect myself incase of bad feedback, and relisted the item. Ebay did close the dispute stating " The buyer's payment institution sided with you and there's nothing else you need to do". l will post a picture below. Thank you all again!

Additional Update: Just got off the phone with ebay 11:22PST 6/30. The sale was still showing up in my orders page with the red banner to "ship by this date" still. I called ebay because I didnt want this affecting my seller rating or anything else and was curious as to what happens with it. They advised me it wouldnt and if for some reason it did I can dispute any negative and have that taken off my account. Additionally they did state since the dispute has been completed, to use the relist option on the sold listing, relist the item, and the old sold listing will be removed from the orders page within 3 buisness days.

Hope this helps anyone else that comes across this issue!

Would like another set of eyes to check this please

This first photo is what I shipped. You can tell the material around the coin is felt as there are various bits stuck to it. The second photo is when the buyer is claiming I sent him. The material around that coin is not felt, if you zoom in. He is claiming I sent the wrong coin but would accept it if I sent him some money to “cover the difference”.

I think I am going to fight this. I am not a coin guy this was a gift a long time ago. From a neutrals point of view, am I in the right?

Pirateship now has QR code labels

Looks like another reason to not use eBay labels has popped up. I'm sure a lot of us use pirateship for shipping labels, but there's a lot of sellers that don't have printers and rely on QR codes to get a label.

I just got a notice when logging into pirateship today that they now have QR codes for USPS labels and barcodes for UPS labels.

Now if only eBay had INR protection for items delivered after an INR concluded in the buyer's favor due to late delivery...

ninja edit: i also noticed UPS ground saver rates are often 1 penny cheaper than USPS rates in the 3-5 pound range in order to undercut the new cheap USPS rates. found this pretty funny. i'm not seeing the cheap UPS ground saver rates on eBay.

Questions about new usps prices July 12

Is the price ebay charges sellers the same as Commercial rate found in July 2026 Price File - Excel, https://pe.usps.com/PriceChange? Or do we not know the final negotiated rate until the 12th?

Are they implementing more strict dimension adherence? If my package is 13X10X2, and I put 13X10X5, will I incur a $3.00 penalty? Someone I was talking with insists they are doing more strict adherence and using laser measurement machines in the near future.

40 Photos with eBay listing?

Is it some special perk just for me, or is anyone else seeing we're now allowed 40 photos with a listing?

Maybe I just missed it, but I'm pretty sure it was 24 a few days ago - b/c I ran into the limit on a listing...

Best course of action in this situation

How to get my money back, as they started a return claim.. I do believe them as they have over 120 100% positive feedback. I don’t want to be out the ~$55 and I want the buyer to be happy. I have no returns set on my account if that matters.

Buyers Asking What’s The Best You Can Do.

I have offers open so I think it should be the buyer that should make the first offer. But I also don’t want to lose an interested buyer by being a dick with a response.

Curious how other sellers respond to these kinds of messages. Don’t respond offering a discount and see how it goes from there? Say your listing price is the best you’re willing to do but will consider offers if they have something in mind? Do you just not all best offers?

Appreciate any insight!
