Did I…not handle this correctly?

Did I…not handle this correctly?

I’ve been selling on ebay for a little over 2 years, and have never had someone ask to hold an item. I wouldn’t think holding an item for a stranger on ebay is super common, or smart, because who knows if they’re actually gonna buy it. But I didn’t think my response was bad?

Snagged a free monstera on marketplace

Went on a roadtrip with my boyfriend for a marketplace side quest, and found this beauty of a monstera listed for free! So of course I claimed it.

AITAH for not answering my partner’s mom?

Ages are changed for anonymity. Formatting might be weird as I’m on mobile.

I (F26) have been with my boyfriend (M28) for 2 years. His mom (F55) can be a lot and he has always been understanding of how his mom can be, until last week. By a lot, I mean she snapchats me multiple times at once daily (one time I counted 37), she has problem/trauma dumped on me in the past, will ask my boyfriend for money, and just overall doesn’t always understand time and place. I’ve never been super close with his mom, and it’s not that I’m not open to being closer to her, but that’s just how our relationship is now and I thought it was fine.

Onto the issue. Apparently, his mom has been trying to hang out with me, unbeknownst to me. The other night, she texted me asking me a question about manicures. Specifically how much they are and where I go, that’s it. So, I asked my boyfriend if she has something going on, as I was curious. This is where it blew up into an argument.

Since I don’t ask to hang out with her and do things with her like I do with my mom, she thinks I don’t like her. Some info that I feel is important to add is that my boyfriend does not hang out with his mom one on one. I asked him why I need to spend time with her more than he does, he didn’t have an answer. Another piece of info is that I have “mil issues” from an ex that I am working through (specifically, she encouraged him to continue cheating on me, among other things).

Basically, I can’t give her the kind of relationship she wants right now, and I explained all of this to my boyfriend. I told him I can’t be responsible for his mother’s feelings. I can’t answer her all the time. His reply is that that makes it sound like I don’t care, and that his mom is a former drug addict and that’s just “how she is.” I didn’t realize my trauma that I didn’t choose for myself trumps the drugs a person chooses to put into their body, but whatevs. I’m sure there’s some context/info I’m missing.
