Hoi allemaal,
Coming weekend (May 23rd and 24th) there are fascist demonstrations against refugee centers programmed at Eindhoven's Stationsplein.
A group of people (myself included) are trying to organise a counter protest. Any people interested in participating or aware about any counter protests already planned?
Thank you!
Update: We've sent demonstration requests to the Eindhoven city hall for Saturday and Sunday. I'll keep the thread updated.
Update2: Our poster is out, please share with others!
If you are introvert, and it’s the case that you got to have some friends in this area, how did you do it? Share your experience, your tips. Especially if you are above 30 years.
Hi everyone,
I'm moving to Eindhoven in October for a 9-month exchange as a PhD student at TU/e. My husband is coming with me, so we are looking to rent a small studio for our stay. He will keep his remote job in Brazil but also plans to find some work locally during this time.
Our combined monthly income will be around €2,500. However, my funding comes from a Brazilian scholarship, not directly from TU/e, and my husband's current income is also from abroad. Because of this, we won't meet the typical "3x the rent" local income requirement.
We are quite worried about the housing crisis, but we do have the savings to pay several months of rent upfront if that helps. Could you give us a realistic perspective on how difficult it will be to find a place given our financial setup? Any tips on specific agencies or platforms that accept international funding or upfront payments would be highly appreciated!
Looking for houses we like. Most are in the 700-900K range. We keep hearing the market is cooling down. Is it better to wait or will prices keep slowly increasing anyhow (like they have in the past year)?
Located in Centrum but dont mind taking the bus less than 20 minutes
My black Cowboy e-bike was stolen from Eindhoven Centraal on 1 May around 14:20, on the city side of the station, not the bus side.
The bike was digitally locked and also chained together with my friend’s e-bike. When we came back about 1.5 hours later, only my bike was gone. My friend’s bike was still there.
The location was right under/near station cameras, so I filed a police report immediately and gave them all the information I had. Unfortunately, I have now been told that they are not opening an investigation for now.
Has anyone dealt with this before in Eindhoven? Is there any realistic way to push for camera footage, contact NS/station security, check local bike markets, or escalate the police report? Also, if anyone sees a black Cowboy Classic being sold suspiciously, please let me know. Or maybe even sees it in person. It has a bent right brake bar.
Goeth Vastgoed Agency:
Hello! I am interested in your opinions regarding this housing agency. There are bad reviews, but they are kinda old and I was wondering if they changed their approach. Can anyone tell me about their experience if you rented with them?
CORRECTION, whats in the picture is not the Ketelhuis. See Comments.
Just walked out trainmore gym, and saw this.
Gemini Summary:
1. The Power Plant (Ketelhuis)
The building underneath and adjacent to those chimneys is the Ketelhuis (Boiler House) and the Machinekamer (Machine Room), built around 1929. This power plant generated the electricity, steam, and compressed air needed to run the massive factories all around Strijp-S, where Philips famously manufactured light bulbs, radios, and televisions.
2. The "Forbidden City"
Back in the 20th century, Strijp-S was completely gated off from the public. It was nicknamed the "Forbidden City" because only authorized Philips employees were allowed inside. Everything needed for production—from raw sand to the finished product—happened right on this plot of land.
3. The Glowing Numbers/Letters
The purple-pink glowing symbols you see wrapped around the chimneys are part of Eindhoven's rich light-art heritage. The chimneys are often used as a canvas for permanent light installations (designed by light artist Har Hollands) as a nod to Eindhoven’s identity as the "City of Light." Today, instead of pumping out industrial smoke, the building has been completely repurposed. The Ketelhuis is now a popular restaurant, bar, and creative event space, while the surrounding area has transformed from a heavy industrial zone into Eindhoven's trendiest cultural and creative hub.
Sunday 24th May is the final and deciding day of the Premier League season. All the games are played at the same time (17:00) but I assume broadcasters will prioritise the big ticket ones (Palace v Arsenal and Man City v Aston Villa).
Are there any other Arsenal fans in the city planning to go and watch this in or around Stratumseind? If so, where?
I'm fairly new here so don't know the best sports pubs and it would be good to know if anyone has intel on which venues are likely to attract more Arsenal rather than City fans.
Hello kind people, I am renting an apartment soon which has GWE excluded from the rent and I have to manage it on my own. I am new to the concept and seeking guidance on reasonable cost, energy providers so that it is not too much heavy on our pockets every month. We are a family of 2 adults 1 child. House is label B and is 75m2 in size in Eindhoven.
One of my best friends will visit me shortly to get together and grab a bite to eat. He suggested Indian cuisine, since it’s his favorite. He especially loves Butter Chicken. I would love to eat somewhere traditional, so we can experience the amazing flavors that Indian cuisine has to offer.
Which is, in your opinion, the best restaurant in Eindhoven to enjoy Indian food?
Tegenover het parktheater, woning lijkt leeg te staan & wordt verbouwd (?).

Hello! We are awaiting a newborn soon. I was wondering if people have reccomandations for where to buy second hand or sustainable baby clothing and newborn clothes?
We already got the big items (stroller, co sleeper, baby monitor etc) so we are specifically looking for clothes/other small items. We would prefer some "normal" clothes, rather than stores aimed at "fashion and brands".
We know of Marktplats , of course :) but I was wondering if there are more dedicated options.
