early morning flight from eindhoven airport - where can i wait?

hey i have an early morning flight from eindhoven airport at 6:55 am and my initial plan was to take a night train from rotterdam that arrives at 2:18 am, take a cab and wait at the airport. i just found out that airport doesn’t let people wait in the terminal and only opens at 4:30 am. my alternate plan was to wait at the station but the info is a bit confusing as to if the station will be open overnight. i’ve been trying to find a place to crash via people but the options are dwindling down. booking a hotel or a hostel is also proving to be more expensive than the flight itself. i need suggestions, are there bars i can chill at till my flight? any advice or help is greatly appreciated!

What makes you trust (or not trust) a cleaning company?

Hi everyone,
I own a local cleaning company in Eindhoven, and I’m not here to advertise. I’m actually trying to understand how people choose a cleaning company.
One thing I’ve always wondered is why some people are comfortable giving a cleaner access to their home while they’re at work, whereas others would never consider it.
If you’ve hired a cleaner before (or decided not to), I’d love to know:

What made you trust them?

What would immediately make you say “no”?

Would you leave a cleaner alone in your home?

What gives you confidence? (Reviews, insurance, references, meeting the cleaner first, etc.)

What do you wish cleaning companies did differently?

I’m genuinely interested in learning what matters most to people.

Thanks in advance!

Slijterij with whiskeytasting

I'm going to Eindhoven for a weekend and was wondering if they have a slijterij with open whiskey bottles. I'd love to have a taste and purchase some bottles, but my google searches haven't really led me to such a place.

I only know of a place in Nijmegen, called "Versailles", but was wondering if Eindhoven has something similar.

To be clear, I'm not looking for a tasting that needs to be booked or something.

Any FairyLoot, OwlCrate or Illumicrate fans in Eindhoven? 📚✨

Finding a proper book club for English-language fantasy in Eindhoven seems pretty difficult, so I thought I'd try my luck here.

Maybe there are other people around who enjoy reading the same genre and would like to connect!

I'm talking FairyLoot, OwlCrate, Illumicrate, the whole special edition obsession. I get way too excited about sprayed edges, gorgeous covers, and of course; great fantasy books.

If you'd be interested in chatting about these kind of books, leave a comment or send me a message!

Experiences with Technix agency for relocation? (Contract clauses, housing, and cost of living for a couple)

Hi everyone,
I’m currently interviewing for some technical roles in the Eindhoven area through an agency called Technix. I’ve been invited to do some in-person interviews, which is great, but I’m looking for some honest feedback from anyone who has worked with them before.
I’d love to hear about your personal experiences, specifically regarding three main aspects:

Housing: I know how brutal the housing market is right now. How much do they actually help with finding a place to live? Is it a smooth process, or did you have to handle most of it yourself despite their "relocation support"?

Negotiation, Contracts, and Clauses: Do you feel that agencies like this truly advocate for the candidate when it comes to the contract and salary? Do they push to get you the best possible offer, or do they tend to just accept whatever the client company suggests? Also, are there any specific clauses or catches I should watch out for in their contracts (e.g., penalties if you leave the agency early, hidden fees for services, etc.)?

Cost of living for a couple: The gross salary simulations I’ve seen range between €3,000 and €4,000 per month (depending on the company, excluding shift allowances). In your opinion, is this gross income enough for a couple to live decently at the beginning? My wife would be moving with me, and the plan is for her to look for a part-time job as soon as possible (hopefully adding another €1,000 net per month to our household budget). Is this doable, or would we be stretched too thin, especially considering rent and health insurance for both of us?

I want to make sure I’m going into this with my eyes open. I’d deeply appreciate any advice or personal stories, good or bad you could share.

Thanks in advance!

Runners on the biktrail

With all respect. I don't hate all runners, but particularly those who run on a bike trail while there is a freaking sidewalk next to it. There might be a slight chance that I will hit you if you don't step aside..or better yet, step on the sidewalk...that thing is once invented for people who like to walk and run

1st year student in Eindhoven

Hi everyone,
I’m in a really difficult situation and I’m hoping someone here might be able to help.

I’m going to be a first-year student in Eindhoven this September, but unfortunately my university informed me at the last minute that they were unable to arrange accommodation for me. This has left me and my family extremely stressed and worried, as my studies are about to begin and I still have nowhere to live.

If anyone knows of a room, studio, apartment, a trustworthy rental agency, or someone who is looking for a tenant, I would be incredibly grateful if you could let me know. Even the smallest lead could make a huge difference.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. It would truly mean a lot to me if you could help or share any information.

Thank you🙏

Goede biefstuk in Eindhoven

Is the station passage at Eindhoven Centraal open around 2:30 AM?

I'll be arriving at Eindhoven Centraal by bus at around 2:30 AM and need to get from the bus station (north side) to Stationsweg (south side).

Can you still walk through the station at that time, or is the passage fully closed during the night? If it's closed, what's the safest and easiest alternative route?

Is the Eindhoven police doing anything about reckless fat bike riders?

I genuinely enjoy living in Eindhoven, but one thing that has been driving me crazy is the behavior of some teenagers on fat bikes.
This week alone I was almost hit twice. Both times they were riding on the wrong side of the bike lane, zigzagging on purpose as if it was some kind of game. At the last second they swerved away, laughing. It wasn’t an accident, it felt deliberate.
I know not every fat bike rider behaves like this, but this kind of reckless riding seems to be becoming more common, and it makes walking or cycling feel unnecessarily stressful.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know if the Eindhoven police are actually enforcing the rules or taking action against dangerous riding on fat bikes? I’m honestly curious, because it feels like they’re getting away with it.

Cat hotels recommendations

Hello, I want to ask for cat hotel recommendations other than 't Oirschots Kattenpension as they are unavailable when I want to travel. I have two cats who I'd hate for to stay with short pet sitter visits for a long time.

What the hell was that?

Did anyone else just hear an extremely loud explosion near Strijp-S? Whatever that was, it sure didn't sound like a firework bomb.

Ozempic

Hello everyone,
I have been trying to lose weight for years and the only thing that worked for me was Ozempic. I got it through a clinic but the clinic charges me 200 euros for the prescription, and then I pay the cost of medication as well, 80 euros. This is too much for me monthly. I asked my huisarts and they agreed that it would help me and said that while some doctors do prescribe it, their clinic has chosen not to a long time ago and they won’t make an exception. Does anyone in Eindhoven have Ozempic prescribed for weight loss from their huisarts, because I was looking at switching to a new huisarts ever since I moved anyways I have to get one closer to me.

Please if you’re just going to comment or downvote because you’re against Ozempic, don’t, I have heard it all, and I’m at my wits end. Please if your comment is not helpful or is not kind, don’t comment it I’m struggling like hell.

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me for practice sessions! It doesn't matter if you're a complete beginner or already have some experience; I’d just love to meet people, practice together, and have fun.
Let me know if you're interested! 😊

Dealing with a lot of cardboard boxes

Hello,

I just moved to Eindhoven and I have a lot of boxes, boy only from my move, but some furniture that I bought. I only have a blue bin, which can't even hold some of the furniture boxes alone

I used to live in Geldrop before, and there I could put any quantity of cardboard on the street, so I'm not sure what to do in this case

Can somebody advise?
