I’m planning to move from a Western country to the UAE, and I was recently told that around 70% of the UAE’s population is male, while women make up roughly 30%, with many of those women being married.

As a single woman moving there on my own, this information has made me feel quite uneasy. I’m now wondering what I should realistically expect and what I should prepare myself for, particularly when it comes to social life, meeting people, friendships, and generally adjusting to life there.

I’ve been feeling overwhelmed and anxious since I heard this, and I’d really appreciate hearing from other women who have made a similar move or have experience living in the UAE. What should I know or prepare for before making the move?

Edit - I’m not sure why some people are upset with my post. It wasn’t intended to put anyone down or criticize the country. I simply wanted a realistic perspective and helped set reasonable expectations for myself before entering the country.

I’m curious whether the psychological services here in the UAE met your expectations.

1. Are there specific medical centres you recommend or avoid?

2. Were they governmental services or private clinics?

3. Do you go based on the psychologist’s expertise and where they work, or do you pick at random?

I’ve heard good things about ACPN, and I know appointments at government hospitals for psychology are hard to get (sometimes up to 4 months before you can find a place).

انا كله اتمرن ب جمب سوت بس glow mode مرات سولد اوت ومرات زايدين الأسعار. بعد جربت oysho حلو بس غالي وقياساتهم ما تناسب جسمي عدل وفيكتوريا سيكريت اول كان عندهم بس الحين ما اجوف وايد واصلا بعد غالي. من وين تاخذون جمبسوت للجم اسعارهم تحت ال150-200 غير شي ان؟ ابا انوع الكوليكشن. اغلب اللي جفته فالنت فوق 200 يوصل 300-400 للجمبسوت الواحد.

و الصراحه ما ابا شي غالي يعني بحدود ٢٠٠ لان بخور للبيت يعني بستهلكه وايد … خصوصاً انا من النوع الي يبخر مرتين و امثر فاليوم 🫣

i realised lately that im always the one initiating with majority of my friendships like hangouts or casual conversation like its always me putting in the effort and im getting sick and tired of it cause i feel like i look desperate even tho i know im not. i just want a circle that understands that its not always me who has to initiate hangouts or anything like that and we can talk daily and hangout a lot or often without me having to put constant effort then they disappear. im just so tired of being a good person because at this rate it isnt even worth it in anything.
