I grabbed a bunch of quests and none of them really gave any money... In fact I'm poor. I can't even prep for my next quest and I'm generally just getting irritated at this point. Alot of the quests end up with 3 stars, have me pay money and net me less afterward, or far outside of ark (again, I'm poor). Before ark I was able to progress with every quest. I'm ark, I feel like I've hit wall after wall, after wall. Does it get better? I can't imagine travelling super far to get a 200$ quest completed...

In the year of 2026, I am playing this game. And I still don't know what I think of it. I just found out about it recently. The story is something that stays on mind and sticks with me. Just that beginning scene of the game makes me wonder and intrigued as to where this game will go.

I love the challenge involved in the combat. It gives sleeping and eating much more meaning and you can no longer become easily overpowered like in Skyrim. I am playing as the dark keeper build and it is a lot of fun.

My only complaint is exploring feels limited and weird. You see all of these icons near you but it feels impossible to walk to each location because of the rivers and mountains.

When you played this game what were your thoughts? Did you like the story? Did you enjoy the game? What did you not like about Enderal?

Howdy! love this game and coming back to it after a few years, apparently its been updated but the steam version is out of date according to reviews?? I went to SureAL site but that also says it needs to be through steam, just wondering if the steam version is the most up to date one cause apparently they’ve changed a few things. Thanks!

Started my first ever playthrough a couple weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it. The amount of grass seems excessive though. I keep losing enemy bodies in the grass for instance. Is it posssible the reduce it?

I am currently on my first playthrough of Enderal and have run into what appears to be a bug with the main storyline. I have already collected 2 out of 3 Black Stones for the Black Light I quest and am trying to collect the one from the Dal'Geyss family. However I am unable to enter their house. After checking the wiki, I found that either you can bribe the guard or have him let you in using rhetorics, but I cannot even initiate dialogue with the guard. The backdoor is locked with a novice lock but the game will not let me pick the lock, it just says "this door cannot be opened". Has anyone else run into this problem and if yes, how did you solve it? Please help.

but I heard that enderal has a much better narrative so I want to give it a try. Should I? Given my very limited experience with the series and basically zero knowledge of its lore.

I am confused. I chose the race half-aeterna. Yet there are no other options like there are in other elder scrolls games to spec out your character. Instead you press y to go to the meditation where you pick out skills.

I have been googling this to no avail. What skills and whatnot will get me to the dark keeper build?

Hey, just wondering if I should play with the gameplay overhaul. I created a caster for my first few hours. Having fun but Skyrim combat is pretty linear, shoot guys in face with fire, run backwards... Nothing is really grabbing me combat wise. Should I try EGO as a mage? What changes for casters? AI just said it slows casting speed and adds stamina depletion. This doesn't really change what I'm doing already, just "harder"? Just wondering if I just accept skyrims dated combat or tack on EGO?

Edit: Just want to tack on that every other aspect of this TC is incredible. Story, Music, Exploration. I'm definitely having a blast.

Few years ago, I played this game but just couldn't play it. Decided to give it another shot today, now I start to hate it again.

Who did the level design? I got killed by two wolves while wearing heavy armor. Who am I playing, is the guy made of paper? Are the wolves' teeth made of steel?

Who thought it is a great idea that you need to go to a specific location to ride some animal to fast travel?

Who thought it is a great idea that you need skill books to upgrade skills?

Why are the game designers purposely creating obstacles and thought players would love this?

And I need to go buy potions to decrease fever, like forever?

The story might be intriguing at first, but the rest of this garbage just adds up, I am so fucking angry and frustrated at this game.

The time has come for me, after so so long, to finally try and play this so called masterpiece of a conversion mod.

However, as it is based on the ages old skyrim engine, I would liek to mod it as well. My question is 2-fold:

1. How do you mod Enderal? Is it just like Skyrim, with the nexus mod manager, or is there a difference? And as a matter of fact, do all skyrim mods work with enderal>

2. Doe anyone have a modlist they play with that modernizes the game? I just dont feel like digging through the nexus for 2 weeks to find all the fine tuning necessary. Besides, ive never played it before, so modding while blind would be... unwise.

Hi, so I installed the Enderal Special Edition from Steam, played through until the point in the intro where you meet Finn and Carbos, but the dialogue got stuck and froze there. After I couldn't fix that I figured I'd try to restart a new character and now it is completely unplayable. I start in the dream sequence and when I go into the cabin it just freezes while dad looks at me and I'm locked into place in front of the elk. Any way to fix this? I'd like to try out the game lol

I am by no means a mod creator but I remember using 'Honed Metal' on Skyrim basically you pay the blacksmith and give them the materials and they make the weapon or armour you want. If someone could make it for this game I am enjoying the RP and I am not a blacksmith I am an idiot with a mace and I like to hit things.

I finished Enderal on June 25th, 2022. I still haven't replayed it.

I’ve been thinking about starting a new playthrough lately, but there’s something holding me back.

Enderal is one of those rare games where the first experience felt impossible to recreate.
I went in completely blind, got attached to the characters, the world, and eventually reached the ending with Calia on the island after everyone else was gone.

When the credits rolled, I just sat there for a while.
Not because it was perfect, but because it felt complete.

My worry is that replaying it might somehow change that memory.
Not that the game would be worse, but that I would no longer remember it the same way.
The surprise, the emotions, the feeling of discovering everything for the first time - those things only happen once.
At the same time, I know a second playthrough would probably reveal things I missed the first time.

For those who replayed Enderal: did it change how you felt about your first playthrough, or did it make you appreciate it even more?

I'm Nicolas Lietzau, and some of you may know me from my time at SureAI, the modding team behind Nehrim and Enderal: Forgotten Stories. I contributed as a writer, co-project lead, scripter, producer, and general jack of all trades. Enderal made a pretty big splash, and won us a Game Award in 2016. It was also one of (if not the first) mods to be featured on Steam.

Last year, I got the opportunity to co-found a game studio, Dare to Dream Games, together with three seasoned industry veterans. We're currently developing our first title, a dark fantasy RPG set in a brand-new IP inspired by Enderal. Our team is a mix of industry veterans from Canada and Germany/Europe, and we're currently about 30 men/women strong.

We recently secured our second round of funding and are now looking to fill several key positions - among them a Level Designer with Unreal Engine experience and, ideally, some Bethesda/Creation Kit modding experience. This is a full-time, paid position. We're strongly preferring candidates based in Germany, ideally those who are willing to relocate (at least in the foreseeable future).

Sharing this here is a bit of a long shot. With the current state of the industry, we certainly don't lack promising candidates, but having transitioned from modding into the games industry myself (I led the writing on SpellForce 3 and its DLCs, as well as the Gothic Remake, after Enderal), I've always found modders to be exceptionally self-motivated and disciplined. Many people on our team - and in our wider network - are former modders who successfully made the leap into professional game development.

Long story short, if you think you'd be a good fit and would like to work on a very, very cool project with some genuine game development legends (not exaggerating here!) that's every bit as ambitious as Enderal - if not more so - feel free to send your portfolio to careers@daretodreamgames.com.

Please understand that being based in Germany is unfortunately a requirement due to the funding. We also need candidates with Unreal Engine experience, as we're no longer at a stage where we can afford to train someone from scratch.

I'm interested in reading Dreams of the Dying and The Cure For Living, but the only listed place for the ebooks is Amazon. I don't have a kindle and Amazon's walled garden give me no alternative as they disallowed downloading of purchased ebooks awhile back. Are there any options outside of Amazon short of getting the physical books?
