How do you remove Nehrim completely from Oblivion?

From tinkering around with modding Oblivion, I am not keen at all on how Nehrim is installed, you basically have to merge it's directory with Oblivion and if you mess something up with modding either, both games are completely fucked. It makes modding Oblivion way more complicated than it needs to be.

For separating both, is the best solution just to delete everything Oblivion related in steamapps, then uninstall and reinstall?

If I made this mod, would anyone want it?

Hey all! So I've been working on like a physical overhaul mod for Tharael (about 75% done now) but as I'm nearing the end I'm getting a little sad that I won't have anything left to do. So I decided - for that reason and a few others - that if people want it I'll make a Tharael / Rhalata expansion quest mod. It'll be quite a large mod for Enderal (though definitely performance friendly) but since it's just me by my lonesome it'll take me probably about a year to finish. But since I can actually do everything that would need to be done to make it a proper mod, and since my health has gone down the drain so Ive got nothing but time on my hands, why the heck not? So here's a brief rundown of what'll be in the mod without giving too much away.

I've actually already got a rough draft and outline of the dialogue, player choice path directions, and scene script written up as well as some light papyrus scripting that I'll be using. That was done in like an afternoon so the imagining and working-it-out part is pretty much done. It's just the putting-it-together part that'll take forever. Plus I'll probably need to secure a couple of permissions from other modders to use some of their resources. But I can also do without if need be.

For one, I think many of us can agree there's just something missing in the vanilla quest. And NO I'm not talking about romance so calm down! (But stay tuned if you're "Tharael thirsty".) While most of the quest is paced very well and the climax is great, it seems like after the orphanage and the Father's dream sequence things just get rushed to the finale a bit. Not to mention, if your sympathy points are high enough there are a number of times when Tharael gets pretty vulnerable and trusting to the player, but no real opportunity for the player to do the same. Now of course it wouldn't make sense for the player to tell him all about your past and everything. But if there was something quest-related that caused the player to choose to be vulnerable for the sake of killing the Father that would bring Tharaels walls down A BIT, then it would make sense. It wouldn't exactly strengthen the relationship to the point of romance but definitely to the point of true camaraderie. And it was that type of psychology I used to create the expanded dynamic between Tharael and the player, which should make the mod worth playing for most people who don't hate him. Especially if there were some good rewards like custom armor and neat skin overlays and buffs and stuff that the player could get for making certain choices. Oh and there's some more lore without going into too much detail so the Rhalata still feels powerful but mysterious, and shouldn't step on the toes of any actual lore.

And even if you hate Tharael there are still some things in the mod for you too. So no matter your opinion on him and how you'd want to play, the mod really should be for everybody.

And for the thirsty people, yessss there will be something for you too. But I'll make it very difficult to achieve. And no it won't be "love". But something else that's not mushy but still completely in character for him. Or at least I think it is. But if you can get there I'm sure it'll sake your thirst. And it sits well within a militant style of camaraderie psychology, which is realistically the only kind of relationship I can picture the player having with Tharael within the short timeline of the whole Rhalata quest. Plus it'll be completely compatible with the other Tharael mods, so if you want to rescue him from the end of the world and kiss him in that one mod (Afterlife?) then you can roleplay the camaraderie into an actual romance if you want and it should fit just fine.

The most easily available parts of the mod will be for people who either just want to be his ally or are just not paying close attention. It'll definitely be designed to play more than once so you can see what options, rewards, or scenes you missed. And there will be a cheat sheet of sorts in the downloads folder to walk you through the mod to achieve certain scenes, rewards, and Easter eggs. But it won't give away what they are, so it'll be a surprise either way. Not always a good surprise, but a surprise nonetheless.

The best part is there will be a LOT of choices the player can make, and they can play this mod however they want to. Same with the game itself. But the more you want from Tharael, the more you have to earn his trust, cuz in typical Tharael fashion he'll still have the mother hair trigger of all anger problems. So you'll have to choose carefully. Oh, and there will be a couple of choices you won't even realize are important, and some of the are vanilla lines that you could choose to skip. But doing one or the other could either lead to absolute devastating catastrophy or a very heart warming and pleasant surprise. (No, again, not romance!)

With all this being said, I'm gonna get to the part that really bugs me. (And to clear up some misunderstandings I think I've already had, I'll be using local non-database non-cloning sources.) So I really want my mod to feel as much like a natural addition to the game as possible. But in order to do that I need audio. So most of this, particularly with Tharaels lines, I'll be painstakingly doing as much audio splicing as humanly possible. That way I'll be using the actual actor's voice and audio files, just splitting them up and using some pitch / tone / blending tools to get the new sentences or words to sound believable. But unfortunately I will have to rely on AI for a couple of the real difficult things. For example, the First Seer will have some new lines, but that character has so few audio files to splice it would be impossible without AI. And there will be points in some of the more heated and lengthy conversations with Tharael that I'll have to rely on AI to some degree, but I'll still be audio splicing the bajeeberz out of whatever the AI generates to make it as "authentic" as possible. This whole thing bothers me quite a bit but it's not like I have Gabriel Wolf's number just hanging out in my roster to drop some free voice acting lines for occasions such as this (cuz I'm poor lol). So... I gotta work with what I have. And I'll do my absolute damnedest to keep the AI from actually replacing his magnificent work. Which really shouldn't be too hard cuz what I'll be using will come out sounding like total garbage unpolished so...

So I guess that's about it. If anyone has any questions I'll do my best to answer without giving too much away. Let me know if this is something y'all would like to see and I'll make it. Just need some time cuz like I said I'm all by my lonesome here with this. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

My most disliked thing about Enderal

So I think I'm around 25% of the main story, just got into the Keepers and about to take the oath.

But despite the mod/game's beautiful world and awesome systems...

How you get stronger is pure bullshit and the most non-immersive thing in the game.

Like seriously, I need to buy books to get better at a skill? I understand the in-game explanation but some things are best figured out on your own and I absolutely do not like this skill system.

I much prefer Skyrim's basic ass skill system that levels up your skills the more you do them because at the very least, it's immersive and true to life. When you do something repeatedly, you become better.

But buying books to spam them and get better at a skill just seems so out of place in Enderal where everything else is immersive. Like there's a freaking bank lmao, and then titular deeds, freaking shares of a business. Like sure, they're extremely basic but it's there and I use the financial system all the time.

I genuinely think that a system where you level up a skill by repeatedly doing it, but the caveat is that there are certain blockades, maybe like at level 25, 50, 75, where you get a quest in whatever skill that is and you finish that quest to progress further. I think it's a more immersive option than what Enderal is implementing right now.

Is it just me or does anyone else think the same? Maybe someone can explain to me why it's a good system.

Nonetheless, onto another Enderal session 🫡

Question about the Cure for Living (second and third) books for anyone familiar

Hello,

I've been trying to understand if the latter two books (apparently taking place 40 years after Dreams of the Dying) are a "legally distinct renaming/reskin" of Enderal/Nehrim canon, or if they are a full retcon/brand new story that never features the plot of the game and goes off in a completely different direction. A long Google search did not clarify this, just saw people going "it's technically different because the names are different" over and over, nothing about the plot compatibility/continuity. Does anyone know the answer?

I kind of want to make sure that they are as compatible with the game as Dreams of the Dying was, as I am an Enderal fan first and foremost and would not be as interestwd if it's basically a different IP in its' essense

Weird occlusion behavior when looking through holes in furniture

So, while playing through Enderal again, I stumbled upon a weird occlusion bug in one of the interiors: when I was looking through some furniture, walls and objects would disappear, as if they were cut by occlusion. https://imgur.com/bdSKI1a

When not looking through furniture: https://imgur.com/ZNkoUZM

The only occlusion plugin I currently have is the Occlusion.esp from DynDOLOD, and by disabling it I made sure it's not the culprit here. Also, this particular cell shouldn't be affected by any of the mods I have installed.

I'm playing with my own modlist, so obviously don't ask to solve this for me. But maybe if anyone else dealt with this problem, you could at least give advice about where else to loot.

Screenshots of an amazing adventure

I played Enderal all the way through for the first time. I was surprised because I didn't expect it to be such a magnificent story spanning over 100 hours! (I have completed almost all the quests and seen the locations)

I did launch it once when it was released on Steam (2021), but I stopped playing it almost immediately... I was such a fool back then.

But I'm glad to know that it's such a wonderfully made game that's still thoroughly enjoyable to play even now. And it's free! Thank you for creating this game!!

This game holds a similar place for me to Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, and I would like to play it again sometime!! :D

Daddy face

Hey, hi!

I haven't seen anyone mention this, and yet I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds Daddy's face really weird?

Of course, even without being possessed, the guy is really creepy (cannibalism and all), but his face is the scariest part. He looks like a freak or a mentally challenged person from The X-Files doing weird stuff when no one's looking, like those guys from cults.

Personally, that's what freaked me out the most about this guy, his gaze and his disturbed face.

I'm streaming Enderal for it's 10th Anniversary, what can't I miss?

Hey guys, my name's Frostbreak and I've been a part of the Enderal community for a few years now. I've made several videos in the past, one of which I think is posted somewhere on this subreddit as a new player guide. However, I've only played through the game ONCE and I'm trying to make sure I don't miss any of the content that deserves to be highlighted.

The plan is to stream a full "fresh" run of Enderal (link to Episode 1), then do a video-essay on the main story, world, guilds, etc. that releases July 3rd 2026 (the 10th Anniversary). Are there any hidden gems I should keep an eye out for that are easily missed?

If it has a steam/GOG achievement, I probably know about it or have done it already. I want to make sure the final video is as comprehensive as I can make it. Some content obviously won't make the cut, but I want to be sure the best stuff does!

Walk Blessed! I'll be streaming today (link here) so if you want to give me any gameplay tips that would also be appreciated 😄

Edit* series will be organized in this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpfBo0rAF12nh4i0p6yzQHGd7_v5IvZJN

What mods are ok to download from SSE that arent enderal specific?

Im really enjoying Enderal so for, but I forgot a few things I hated about skyrim that are really starting to bug me. The main one being the enchantments for weapons being temporary. I hate it. If i grab a Skyrim SE mod that makes enchantment permanent, will it bork my game?
