Grief Counseling Groups

Hi everyone- looking for grief counseling groups in the area, preferably in- person gathering. If anyone has any information they could share, it will be greatly appreciated.

Update: for context, my neighbor is having a really tough time after the unexpected loss of her daughter. She’s always been sweet and caring to me and it’s so tough to see her so down. She’s been doing her best, but she’s retired, has no friends or family locally, and is just looking for support.

Thank you for all of your recommendations so far!

Miss Mochi is still looking 🖤

San Diego, CA, 4 year old female, spayed, 37lbs, *needs to have no children or other dogs in the home*, shots UTD

Mochi was left behind while her previous family moved out of state with their other dog. She was being left unspayed, injured, with a UTI, they contacted us two days before leaving (without disclosing her complete health records) and let us know the only other person interested seemed like a backyard breeder. We couldn’t leave her to be used like that, so we picked her up and got her spayed and a nares surgery and treated her UTI, and now for the first time in 4 years she can breathe normally. She is up to date on her shots. She is completely housebroken and knows sit, down and is working on stay. She’s also learning the ‘let’s go!’ Cue on walks and is learning to redirect instead of be reactive towards other dogs. There needs to be no children or other pets in her new home. She is very small for an English, about 37lbs, so closer to a frenchie. Size wise she looks really small, like a large rabbit or cat. She is a lap sitter, but the behaviorist we consulted with said not to allow her to do this as she is very insecure and needs to learn to self soothe. She needs to meet people outside in a neutral space, and would thrive in a home that can continue to give her boundaries and build up her confidence. She loves treats and food, is very playful like a puppy and loves her walks. She sleeps peacefully in her crate at night and enjoys tug o war games. She loves cuddles and will flop on her side for belly rubs. She turned 4 years old on March 8th of this year. She has no tail pocket and is pretty low maintenance for an English. She is non destructive and has no separation anxiety, but will steal the occasional shoe or piece of laundry to suckle on. Shes currently waiting on intake to a local rescue, after which you can apply to foster or adopt this little loaf. In the meantime if you’d like to apply her link is below, if a rescue does not take her in before we find a suitable family (we are taking are time and reviewing everyone to make sure they’re a safe and loving home) then the rehome fee will be donated to Grandma Betty’s Animal Rescue in Julian, CA

What's up with this empty lot sitting 25+ years?

This location was last known used until 1996 to 2002, what used to be there? I am just asking because it's so weird that it has been vacant for so long.

Report homeless or the city will continue to think they are doing well.

Literally the homeless population is exploding into Escondidos parks and honestly a lot of them are feeling unsafe for kids to play in. I saw a post where basically a 9 year old tried to use the bathroom at Grape Day park where a homeless person was pants down cleaning himself in the sink. Meanwhile, the city thinks they are doing better on the homeless problem but Grape Day is literally right outside city hall.

The city is legally responsible to deal with anything reported on that app. You can do it anonymously, mark exact locations, and provide pictures. Potholes, homeless, unsafe conditions, report it and force the city to deal with it

Help Find Luna ASAP

Luna was lost while staying with dog sitters booked through Rover. The sitters, Sarah Dean and Daniel Oswiler, claim that Luna escaped, but Luna was never officially reported missing by them, the provided instructions were not followed, and they have refused to cooperate or speak with police.

Luna’s family is desperate for answers and is asking the community for help. At this point, they do not know what truly happened to her.

📍 Last known location:
6084 Paseo Monona, Carlsbad, CA 92009

There is also concern that Luna could possibly have been taken to Escondido or somewhere else in San Diego County.

If you live in Escondido or anywhere in San Diego County and have seen anything unusual, suspicious, or have any information that could help, please contact the Carlsbad Police Department or comment here so Luna’s owners can review the information.

Please share this post and help bring Luna home safely.

Stop Golden Pacific Power Link Project

SDG&E wants to put power lines through Anza Borrego and potentially devlop on protected land. If this matters to you please send the below email to GoldenPacific@sdge.com. This is a copy/paste email from the Anza borrego parks people. The more that are sent the better.

Subject: Opposition to the Golden Pacific Powerlink Route Through Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

To the Golden Pacific Powerlink Project Team,
I am writing to express my strong opposition to any proposed route for the Golden Pacific Powerlink that would pass through Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is California’s largest state park and one of the most important remaining desert landscapes in the state. It protects wilderness, wildlife habitat, cultural resources, scenic views, dark skies, and a visitor experience that benefits local communities and future generations.
A 500 kV transmission line through the Park would bring permanent industrial infrastructure into a landscape specifically valued for its natural character. Towers, widened utility corridors, construction disturbance, access roads, and long-term visual impacts would fundamentally change the Park and alter it forever.
I urge San Diego Gas & Electric to remove any route through Anza-Borrego Desert State Park from consideration and pursue alternatives that avoid this protected public land.
I also request full transparency regarding:
• Why routes through the Park are being considered
• What alternatives have been evaluated
• Expected impacts to wildlife, wilderness, cultural resources, recreation, and tourism
• How this project aligns with California’s conservation goals
• Whether there are binding commitments regarding clean energy use of this line

Protected landscapes like Anza-Borrego Desert State Park should not bear the burden of industrial-scale infrastructure when less harmful alternatives exist.

Please protect this extraordinary place and ensure it is not permanently damaged by this proposal.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
[City, State]

LARGE PILLAR IN THE SKY

Time: 12/23/2024

Location: San Diego County

MY FRIEND AND I ARE SO CONFUSED. We saw this weird thing in the sky almost two years ago in the sky of San Diego. We have searched on the internet for so long and have found nothing, this is the last resort. It was moving in such a weird way, like vertical and horizontal, but in perfect lines. We have dozen of videos and photos if needed.. Please does anyone have any answers we have been so confused.

Pedestrian accident advice—hit by a car while crossing.

My neighbor was hit while walking their dog. They’re in the hospital and the driver's insurance is already asking for a recorded statement. I told them not to say anything until they talk to a lawyer. Does anyone know a good person in the county who handles pedestrian cases?
