So when exactly are spacex IPO shares being allocated?

Put in my conditional offer the day it became available and my status still looks like this. At this point there's only two trading days left for me to get cash into my account for however many shares I get allocated (if any). I don't want to move cash around or sell anything unless I know for certain I'm going to have a chance to buy.

Denied margin interest rate reduction on a six figure account with a long history of profitability, possible next steps?

So I just finished a call with E*TRADE about reducing my margin interest rate because I am looking use a lot of margin to leverage my portfolio, and was denied as well as being told that it is not something they're doing right now at all. I explained that I would be leaving etrade if I do not get a lower rate, and was apologize to but reassured that there is no way to get the rate lowered. I understand I am not a mega millionaire customer, but my account is still a solid six figure account and I have been trading and investing profitably with etrade for over six years. Has anyone had this same experience? If so, did you call back and have a better result after trying more than once? I am very comfortable with etrade but now that I am beginning to go deeper into margin the astronomically high rates are just untenable, I wont pay tens of thousands of dollars just for the convenience of not learning new software and doing an account transfer

We all need thism right?

I have been using E-Trade for almost 25 years, and I'm not interested in migrating to any other platform.
But one thing I am really missing is that when I place an order, I would like to place a stop-limit order with a take-profit order at the same time. This is possible on IKBR and other platforms, but for some reason, Etrade has not implemented it. Also, I would like to be able to trade directly from within TradeViewer, which would save a lot of time and enable me to catch gains.
How can we influence a trade to implement these features?

Confirm if you got the E-Trade Savings Bonus

I see a lot of discussions about people not getting their bonus when opening a savings account with E-Trade. Can people respond here who did actually get their bonus without issue?

No Longer E*Trade

I just spent 20 minutes on a chat with a real agent only to find out they have zero authority to maintain customer accounts. Basically no better than their virtual assistant; truly. Since Morgan Stanley took over, Etrade customer service has gone from great to ground zero. Tomorrow, I will call my elite team (joke) and close my account. An account I've had since 1994. That's how horrible a customer service experience I had. Think customer and agent empowerment is something Morgan Stanley fails to see or purposely has decided to not embrace. Either way, they are ruining a once great company, Etrade.

How to view After Hours on App

I’ve looked everywhere, made sure to sign the after hours agreement and everything. I cannot find where to view After hours trading on the app and see what’s happening.
Does anyone know how to view it?

I just can't do it, personally. Curious how many of you all are giving it a shot.

Burnt on promo again

Disappointed by the unclear promotional conditions again this time. This time, before opening the account, I called e-trade to check if I was eligible before sending funds, and then i confirmed again after adding my funds of 50k. Was told I'm good to go. Did not record my conversation, should have asked them to email me saying i am eligible for the promo but who knew!

Promo was for deposit of (along with 4% rate):

$20,000 - $49,999, get $300

$50,000 - $74,999, get $750

$75,000 - $99,999, get $1000

$100,000 - $199,999, get $1500

$200,000 or more, get $2,000

I have been with e-trade for over 4 years now. Something similar happened some 2 years ago too, where i thought i got $100 less, but i did not bother to check and moved on. this time around it's $750 bonus, plus i also got a lower rate of 3.25%, which should have been 4% according to the terms. I chatted with customer service, and they could not give me a reason and no reason is mentioned in the email or alert in my account. I sure did follow all the terms of the promo and made sure money was in there for entire term.

Email alert I got 2-3 weeks ago

Screenshot of the account

  1. Do you think there's a way to fix this, without wasting too much time ? or should i just move on.

  2. I am now considering maybe moving my account to IB or fidelity or some other broker where i get interest on cash in the brokerage account. I do not see a reason to stay with e-trade. i have some $140k in the account. Why are you guys with e-trade today?

SpaceX IPO Participation request available yet?

I’m getting some conflicting information online:

Web in general says you can apply for participation now.

Etrade website doesn’t list SPCX among the IPOs available to request information.

From what I’ve read, Etrade doesn’t have an account minimum requirement for participating in the SpaceX IPO.

Has anyone seen access to the SpaceX IPO on their Etrade platform yet?

Has anyone been freed from the pattern day trading restrictions yet?

Today is Thursday June 4th 2026.

Many of the newer brokers have already lifted their pattern day trading restrictions.

E*trade is still counting my day trades as of today.

Why are the older legacy brokers so slow?

From google:

Immediate Removals (Effective June 4)

Robinhood: Officially lifted restrictions and removed flags from accounts.

Webull: Lifted day trade count restrictions and the PDT flag on Day One.

Tastytrade: Implemented the new framework to bypass existing lockouts immediately.

Other Day-One Participants: Alpaca, Cobra Trading, Firstrade, Kraken Securities, Lightspeed, Moomoo, Public, TradeStation, Tradeup, Tradier, and TradeZero.

Staggered & Phased Rollouts

Charles Schwab: Officially transitioning on June 8, 2026. The PDT designation is being eliminated, and accounts below $25K will no longer face restrictions.

E*TRADE: Transitioning shortly after June 4.

Fidelity: Transitioning on June 5, 2026.

IBKR (Interactive Brokers): Utilizing a phased rollout, meaning updates to individual accounts may take additional time.

Transfer USD cash from E*TRADE Stock Plan account to IBKR.

I saw quite a few Reddit posts about transferring USD from E*TRADE Stock Plan accounts to Interactive Brokers, but most of them were either outdated or missing important details.

I completed the transfer today and wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else.

A few notes:

  • My E*TRADE account was a Stock Plan account.
  • The transfer was a USD cash transfer to Interactive Brokers.
  • I used a domestic wire transfer.
  • I created the deposit notification in IBKR before initiating the transfer.
  • The wire was credited to my IBKR account in roughly 30 minutes after submission.
  • E*TRADE charged a $25 outgoing wire fee.

I also used ChatGPT to write these steps because mostly for next transfer may be I will follow again these steps 😄

Steps I Followed

1. Create a Deposit Notification in IBKR

  • Login to IBKR.
  • Go to Transfer & Pay → Transfer Funds → Make a Deposit.
  • Select USD as the currency.
  • Select Bank Wire as the deposit method (not ACH).
  • Enter the amount you plan to transfer.
  • Enter E*TRADE as the sending institution.
  • Submit the deposit notification.

IBKR will generate wire instructions and a payment reference.

2. Copy the Wire Instructions from IBKR

For me, IBKR provided:

  • Beneficiary: Interactive Brokers LLC
  • Beneficiary Bank: JPMorgan Chase Bank
  • ABA Routing Number
  • Account Number
  • Payment Reference in the format:

UXXXXXXXX / Your Name

The payment reference is important because it tells IBKR which account should receive the funds.

3. Initiate the Wire in E*TRADE

In E*TRADE:

  • Go to Transfer → Disburse Cash.
  • Select Wire Transfer.
  • Choose Domestic Wire.

Fill in the beneficiary information provided by IBKR.

For the reference fields, I used:

  • Additional Name: My full name
  • Additional Account Number: My IBKR account number (UXXXXXXXX)
  • Other Instructions: UXXXXXXXX My Full Name

4. Submit the Wire

Review all details carefully and submit the transfer.

E*TRADE charged a $25 outgoing wire fee.

5. Wait for Funds to Arrive

I expected it to take 1–2 business days based on the instructions, but in my case the funds arrived in approximately 30 minutes and were available in my IBKR account.

Key Lessons

  • Use Bank Wire, not ACH.
  • Create the IBKR deposit notification before initiating the transfer.
  • Double-check the IBKR account number and payment reference.
  • Include the IBKR account reference (UXXXXXXXX) wherever possible.
  • Keep the wire confirmation number until the funds are credited.

Hopefully this saves someone a few hours of confusion and prevents mistakes when moving funds from an E*TRADE Stock Plan account to Interactive Brokers.

Please switch brokerages away from E-Trade

Guys I'm begging you please switch to a different brokerage firm. My father passed away almost a year ago and I have been dealing with the beneficiary customer service team ever since then. They are constantly asking me to provide new forms that they didn't before, take weeks to respond without helpful information, and are overall incompetent and disorganized. You never know, you might just die in an accident and then your loved ones will have to deal with them, on top of the grief. My father had accounts in Fidelity and Schwabb and neither company has caused me anywhere near as many issues as E-Trade. Awful company.

Got my Premium Savings bonus today

After seeing a couple of horror stories of one or more people reporting not getting the bonus for opening an eTrade Premium Savings account, I got my bonus today. I believe the deadline to open an account to get the bonus was March 11.

That promotion has expired and I think now you can get a 4% APR for six months without a cash bonus for opening an eTrade Premium Savings account.

The promotion was a bonus from $300 to $2,000 depending on how much I deposited the first 30 days the account was open plus a guaranteed 3.75% APY for six months. After the 30-day funding period after account open ended, there was to be a required 45-day maintenance period of the required tier amount. Then eTrade Bank would credit the bonus to the account within 30 days of the end of the maintenance period. If for some reason, eTrade found I was ineligible for the bonus I would get an email notifying me of that within 105 days after account opening.

Here's the timeline.

March 3, 2026 - apply to open Etrade Premium Savings account. I double check that I've typed the "SAVE26" bonus code in the promo code field at the bottom of the first page and I clicked the "apply." button. One member of this subreddit indicated that they opened an account over the phone and while the rep indicated they entered the code the rep may have screwed that up. If you failed to enter SAVE26 in the promo code field and click apply, I don't think people got the bonus. I get a message saying my application is under review. I'm prompted to upload a copy of my Social Security card and a photo ID. I get a message indicating my application has to be reviewed. At some point either the evening of March 3 or March 4, the account is opened and I get an account number.

March 4 - I receive a secure message that can be read in the eTrade app telling me I'm enrolled in the bonus offer. The message includes the terms of the offer.

March 5 - I get confirmation the account is open by email. I get another email confirming I'll get the promotional APY rate of 3.75% for six months. I call customer service to try to fix an issue where the app is seeking to verify my address to give me permanent access to the app and it's not accepting my address. It's a long story, but the issue is resolved by March 6. Customer service rep confirms my bonus promotional code SAVE26 has been applied.

March 9 - I begin the process of adding the new eTrade account as an external account for a couple of my banks.

March 10 - I complete the verification process to authenticate the account is mine.

March 11 to March 25 - I ACH push enough funds into the ETrade Premium Savings account to qualify for a bonus. I had read on Reddit horror stories of their eTrade accounts being frozen if people added external accounts to the ETrade account and sought to "pull" the funds from elsewhere.

March 19 - I get an email and secured message from eTrade Bank saying I've added enough funds to qualify for the first bonus tier.

March 24 - I get an email and secured message from eTrade Bank reminding me that the period to add funds to qualify for a bonus tier is within 10 days.

April 2 - Funding period ends and maintenance period begins.

I get interest credited the last day of each calendar month.

May 17 - Maintenance period ends and 30-day clock starts for ETrade Bank o pay bonus.

June 3 - About 17 days after the maintenance period ended, bonus amount in the correct amount is added to my available balance and is shown as "in process." I also get a congratulations email and secured message from eTrade informing me the bonus amount is in the process of being credited to my account and I will receive it within 24 hours. The message says, "Congratulations! You ave met all the requirements for the cash bonus offer. You will now receive a cash bonus within the next 24 hours."

Are we screwed?

So here's the timeline:

  1. Wife gets about 900 ESPP shares from employer from about 2003 to 2009. E-Trade was the company's brokerage at the time
  2. At some point (let's call it 2010 for sake of argument) employer changed brokerage to Fidelity. When they transferred everything over, E-Trade did not report the cost basis of the shares. Just found this out.

I sincerely doubt we have any of the paperwork from back then.

Any thoughts on how helpful ETrade is gonna be on this?

Beneficiary of $12.5k E*Trade Account advice/ transfer help opinions wanted

The Robinhood accounts are mine, which ive had for 2 years, the E*Trade was set up by my grandfather roughly 15 years ago and he added money/invested/checked on it once in a while, he passed a few years ago and i justed turned 21 so i gained access to it. E*trade had me open a brokerage ac and they transferred all investments/ cash.

My question is if it's beneficial for me to transfer the eTrade to Robinhood because they give a 2% transfer match...
Or if anyone has opinions on what they’d do at 21 as a full time student working 25-35hours a week with a new found $12.5k to invest with. Thanks.

Is it safe to transfer RSUs from E*TRADE to INDmoney for the 1% cashback?

I have a sizeable amount of vested RSUs currently held in E*TRADE. INDmoney is offering a 1% cashback incentive if I transfer my US stocks to their platform.

Has anyone transferred RSUs/stocks from E*TRADE to INDmoney?

Would love to hear from people who have actually gone through the process, especially for larger RSU holdings. Any hidden drawbacks I should be aware of before initiating the transfer?
