I have recently gotten into the Everquest games especially EQ2 which is a great game. I tried Everquest Legends but found the UI compared to EQ1 to be rough at launch so I am not interested in EQL. I have heard that EQ1 is not a good fit for casual players like myself who only play a few hours per week or so. Is that true and what issues would I have with EQ1 as a casual player? Thank-you.
What is some good recommendations for weapons for a level 30 froglok cleric and a level 30 vah shir beastlord. Any other recommendations for gear etc.
Can we not allow these to junk up our sub? If you have to allow them, can you make a mega thread and require all EQL related posts to go there? People come here for information regarding live and TLPs. We shouldn't have to scroll through posts regarding that wanna be THJ spinoff when we come here.

My friend is playing and tells me he's having a blast. I've been looking at the EQL class builder tool and playing around a bit. I've mostly mained Monk, Shaman, Rogue and Bard. I want to stick with what I know for my core (MNK, SHM), but branching out a bit would be a nice change. I'm flip-flopping between MNK, SHM, BRD or MNK, SHM, NEC or MNK, SHM, WIZ/DRU for ports.
• How do pets work? Is the skele be nerfed?
• How do rogues work in terms of BS? Do they get frontal off the bat?
• Do bard songs mainly work for downtime? I'd imagine they get interrupted a lot with a caster
• Is fear nerfed? Could I literally just DoT and fear kite with SHM, NEC?
• Would SHD or WAR be better than MNK if I'm running SHM, NEC?

My background: The only MMO I have ever played is WoW and I haven't played that since WotLK.
Also I understand EQ is a very old game and I am OK for that.
I am a human Pala/Sham/Berserker after the tutorial I have been right outside of N Queynos just killing things and I am level 2. I'm playing solo at the moment. I have just been heading slowly to north this seems like what I should be doing but I am not sure...
Still getting my bearings but:
Is the main way to get to other cities/zones just on foot? Are there any "portal master" type NPC's?
I haven't found one yet if there is. Any other modes of fast travel available from level 1?
Do I just kill stuff for xp/loot/$ and not be concerned about filling up a quest log with stuff to do?
I read about place called Befallen that sounds really cool and I know there are other dungeons is this where to go to farm XP?
Just the tip of the iceberg for me LOL. Hopefully I will catch on the more I play. Love it so far ! I am keeping it very casual with my state of mind being that of playing Diablo 2: finding good xp farming spots and hopefully bosses or unique monsters to kill for unique/rare items... would this approach work?

before Frostreaver I was all in on legends just thinking about what classes I would go. Have no interest now, maybe by the time kunark launches on legends I'll check it out. Anyone in the same boat?

Are enchanters essentially buff bots? Lots of unmezzable, high MR mobs. Do they simply watch others fight while throwing the occasional haste/clarity and tash?
is everquest legends good for solo players, or will I suffer more than enjoy it? I like to play solo but I don't mind being in a guild or use matchmaking stuff
Before I spend the afternoon updating this laptop, will it run everquest reasonably well for a single account?
Any tips or advice?
