Banned for 3rd party software despite not using any

I played EQ back in like 2000-2004 and then started playing again earlier this year after CS helped locate my old account. I took advantage of the free 115 heroic during the anniversary event in March 2026 and paid for 3 accounts. I let 2 lapse to free and kept paying on my original account.

I played all 3 on the same computer from the same EQ directory and just click between windows or alt tab. I had played them together for about 2 months (mostly doing ToV merc/partisan and then some ToL) and then randomly couldn't log into one of the accounts & saw an email that I had been banned for 3rd party software.

I've never used or downloaded any cheating tools so it's impossible for them to have "detected" any.  Since I play all 3 accounts on the same computer, if I had cheats on my computer why wouldn't all 3 accounts be banned?

The only thing that I can think of is that I left the account mostly AFK in Barren Coast for several days to try and farm sunshard ore. There's a camp of pirates that auto agro and my pet easily killed. Every once in a while I'd move a bit to agro some others nearby or do a quick loop to kill everything around. I don't know if that somehow looked like bot behavior and Daybreak just tagged it as 3rd party software as the excuse in the email? I wouldn't think what I was doing was uniform enough to look like a bot, but I also have no idea how sophisticated the cheat tools are.

I basically stopped playing my other accounts (still log in for overseer on my main account), but I don't want to put any more time or effort in if I'll just get banned for nothing some day in the future.

None of this makes any sense, but Customer Service has not responded to any of my questions and its going on 2 weeks since it happened. Has anyone had this happen &/or have any ideas on how to proceed?

Frostreaver box group

Friend and I are going to each 3 box and group together for the new server launch. We will be just alt tabbing with no 3rd party softwares and ive played that way for years.

He's going to box shaman, bard and rogue and im going to box warrior, cleric and a melee dps that im undecided on.

Monk is very appealing cause it doesn't share gear with anyone and will be a top dps for many expansions.

Ranger is appealing for snares and tracking, as well as fun to play.

Thought about a berserker as well cause I've never played one but worried about the itemization and the lack of utility.

Any thoughts?

Can I ask where the majority of the EverQuest community is these days? (Official, Private, EQ1 or EQ2)

I have no idea, I have never played but I might try it out. I want to know where the majority of players are. I assume I can mention 1999 as this is a super old game and it has been left running, is that where most people are? Are the majority playing on official servers? Is EQ1 more popular than EQ2? Thanks. Looking for some veteran opinion. I am a Star Wars Old Republic player and I am searching for an MMO to play on the side for when I have completed my weekly conquest activity.

Frostreaver Questions

Looking at the ruleset for frostreaver, what does the evolved loot mean? I want to jump into a new TLP and this one seems to have a very interesting rule set but I don’t know exactly what they mean. Any other rules that may not be self explanatory as to what it does for the server? Or the old zone evolution?

Edit: Evolving Bonuses is what I mean.

Edit 2: Also what will it be like for a solo box player? I can imagine with free trade the amount of Kronos farmers is going to be pretty crazy. Will I be able to find just normal groups to play the game? I don’t mind playing with others who are boxing but when you see a full group on auto follow you know they have no room for you and probably aren’t even reading chat.

What's the go to wiki these days?

I find allakhazam to not be very helpful. I find a bunchbof items and can't find them anywhere on Google. Project Lazarus has a bunch of stuff but a lot of it is missing info.

2 Box question (importance of snare)

Morning.

I've been mulling a new 2 box on FV to just follow the Hero's Journey and Achievement Hunt.

All advice ultimately led to SK / Sham and I get it. I wouldn't ming running a Pal or War / Sham but without reliable snare one mob turns a corner, and it hits the fan.

At the same time, I feel like Track might be very important finding and bagging Named / Zone Rares.

Knowing how much weight people give Slow I'm having a difficult time somehow making my perfect 2 box.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I thought maybe Beast Lord / Druid but I'm not sure if the Beast +Pet can tank well enough to get the things I want to do done being that they would be my main tanking and my Slow. Druid would grant Track and movement.

Does anyone run a 2 box with a Warrior or Paladin that they swear by? Or should I be barking up a different 2 Box tree?

Thanks for listening.

Fangbreaker is one of the best ways to experience EverQuest.

I slept on this server for ages, but recently tried it out and the ruleset for it is super underrated.

Because every day has different bonus zones you will end up in groups or going to zones you'd normally never bother with or hardly see.

On other servers there's always the sort of "meta" zones and most people leveling will use those because it's the fastest option, but with the bonuses people end up all over the place. Zones that would otherwise be sort of forgotten may blow up one day because they have AA or exp bonuses.

I started playing 25 years ago in Kunark and the last few weeks I've seen zones I totally forgot existed and probably haven't been in for over two decades. It's a lot of fun and very nostalgic.

Highly recommend checking Fangbreaker out if you haven't.

Everquest Project 1999 Blue. Livestream Fails. Grats Bladefrenzy

Hello,

This is Mcafx and I used to raid in a guild called the <Dawn Believers>. Back in the day we had a raid leader named Bladefrenzy who tried to change the loot rules and assign loot to himself. Best melee dps box on live?

Currently boxing a mage/bard on live. Thinking of adding a third manually boxed melee dps. Which melee dps class is the easiest as a third box? Mage is main so was looking for something I can just position and hit discs (no button spamming required) at the start of a mission or named.

Heat sight effect on armor?

I can't figure out for the life of me how these armor effects work? IIUC the focus effects are passive and grated automatically. What about Heat Sight though? It says "Effect: Heat Sight (worn)", but I'm wearing the armor and I'm not getting infravision. When I click the effect, it says it's a spell, but I can't drag it to a hotbar or activate it in any way?

What am I missing here? 🤔

Looking for more frands

Hello all, my guild found ourselves in a in-between game limbo so we decided to do a level locked progression style on Firiona Vie. Currently we have 14 or so of us and would love to have more people come hang out. This is going to be a low-pressure, laid back gaming hang out. Currently we just started and are level locking at 70 for now. Were about to work our way through Dragons of Norrath 24/42 man raids, and we might attempt Vish, then move to Omens of War. Were working on our 2.0s and will do MPG trials and attempt what we can of anguish. If you have any interest in tagging along we are on Firiona Vie server, and can do this 100% free to play. Leveling is fast. Can reply here with your discord name, or look us up in game /who all "The Filthy Casual"

Hope to see some of you around.

Feeling a bit of nostalgia...anyone remember making the run as a really low level through Commonlands to get to Ogguk, freaking out because you didn't realize the crocs at the docks didn't aggro? Or am I showing my age 😄

Confused - Mage Grant Visor

I summon my manifestation of water pet. He comes equipped with a Visor of Shazzuk, a rec level 91 item. I target my pet and cast Grant Visor of Shoen (lvl 112 spell). The Shazzuk visor is not replaced. I target myself and cast Grant Visor of Shoen. I am given a Visor of Shoen, a rec level 111 item. I try to give the higher level visor to my pet and he does not take it telling me 'I have no need for this...'.

So what is the deal here? Are these summoned visors worthless?

Looking for dou/trio nightly grind group.

Looking for someone chill to grind EverQuest with in the evenings. Not hardcore racing — more like leveling, farming, chatting, and sharing the atmosphere while I also juggle poker sessions sometimes. Voice chat welcome but not required.

Teek - Secrets of Faydwer: Never Been, Some Advice?

Hi! On and off everquest TLP player. But I RARELY have made it past GoD. Only did OoW once.

I have a strong curiosity to see what Teek is like with the Faydwer expansion. Are there any major changes to the game that someone that has not seen past OoW should know about that could make leveling up life easier?

I imagine I'm going to probably be solo. Are there any classes that shine in the leveling phase during this era? Or is it pretty much the same solo-champions of Vanilla-PoP. Is the leveling formula still find a camp and grind EXP? Or is it more of a LDoN/event/instance kind of deal now? Are there any must-do quest-like things that unlock features that are super important? Any other information like this would be awesome!

I don't know if this is just a fantasy or not... but in my head it's going to be a totally different game. I was always so intimidated by OoW that I never wanted to go beyond it, I can't imagine all the stuff they added since then. I'm feeling brave and I have high hopes!
