Is Meta starting to remove Messenger histories from deleted Facebook accounts?

Usually, when you delete your account, your messages and pictures will still show up in a chat, just under 'Facebook User' instead of your name. However, I've seen that some old chats of mine with deleted accounts no longer contain their messages, just mine, and it's happened to a few friends of mine as well. Has anyone here experienced this? Do you think Meta is beginning to phase out saving these messages?

Facebook Messenger “Confirm your identity to send messages” -Mine disappeared after about 28 days without verifying

I got this message on Messenger:

“Confirm your identity to send messages. Certain actions have been restricted due to unusual activity.”

I couldn’t send messages and thought my account was permanently flagged or hacked. I searched everywhere and most posts said to upload ID/selfie verification.

For anyone stressed about this: in my case, I did nothing. I never verified my identity, never uploaded ID, never contacted support, and after about 28 days the restriction disappeared on its own.

A few things from my experience:

I could still log into Facebook normally

The restriction only affected Messenger sending

I avoided spammy activity while waiting

I didn’t keep retrying verification

One day it just started working again

So if you’re seeing this screen, there’s at least a chance it’s a temporary automated restriction and not a permanent ban.

Does anyone know how to stop this"send photo?" Pop up from showing on messenger?

It pops up every time I take a photo on my phone and it accidentally uploads photos all the time when I try to dismiss it

Why is it that with some messenger conversations, you can click on the person's name to directly access their profile, and with some you can't?

I've noticed this... there are some conversations I have with people on Facebook Messenger where their name is a hyperlink, and I can click it and access their profiles.

With other friends, I can't - their name isn't a hyperlink. I can still access their profiles, but I have to do it manually by typing their name into the search bar.

Would anyone happen to know why there's a difference there? Not that it particularly matters, I'm just curious.

Messenger history

Hi all.

Got a ticket for using my phone while driving which I wasn’t doing. Was on my vape and playing with it - changed the cartridge at the lights. So using 2 hands and looking down.

I’ve downloaded my Facebook history and messenger log from the date in question, but wasn’t quite what I was expecting. It’s listed all my contacts in a separate html file. I don’t really want to trawl through all of my contacts and print all of them for Court.

Is there a way to just get a single page that shows all the outgoing and incoming messages from the day in question? I’ve checked the activity log and that does help.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Did Messenger stop showing a contact's last active status time past one hour?

In all of my conversations, I can only see when they were last active if it's been under an hour. The app used to show active status up to 24 hours. Is this a permanent change?

Disappearing message automatically turned on in messenger

Hey everyone! Quick question: Has anyone else noticed disappearing messages randomly turning themselves on in your chats?

I haven't changed any settings, but it seems to be happening automatically. Is this a new glitch or some update I missed?

This is on messenger.

Messenger privacy settings what is “contact card” and why can’t I deactivate it?

I was scrolling my settings on messenger as I’ve suddenly got a bunch of people I know but am not friends with that are suggested.

I stumbled upon the “contact card” setting. I have no idea of when it appeared, nor what actual information it would be sharing. By default it was set as “anyone”. I tried to deactivate the authorisation but everytime I try it comes up with an error message. I changed to friends only but apparently it’s the only thing I can do…

Would anyone have more info about this? I asked friends and family and I’m apparently the only one that has this parameter!!! Internet research didn’t actually give me any answers either.

I got a new iPhone and now messenger won’t work in my preferred language, help?

So yeah, I just got an iPhone 12 (reused idk if that’s the problem) and I went to open messenger where it said it needs to download my preferred language, but every time I click to do so it just says it can’t and to check my internet connection. I’ve tried with local internet and data and it refuses. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling. I’ve tried restarting the phone. Nothing works.

If anyone has experienced something similar and knows how to fix it please let me know🙏😭
