So I was a few days late taking my shot this week, and unfortunately I ended up taking it just a few hours before a special celebratory dinner. I ended up overeating because of the celebrations (I know, I know) and now 20 hours later I am still suffering from bloating and gas. I haven't eaten all day today, my stomach is seriously uncomfortable. Any tips to combat the bloating?
Does anyone know how to stop getting email alerts from VC about saved searches? I have all my email settings turned off, as I only want push notifications in the app. But I continue to get an email every time an item appears in one of my saved searches! The settings for each saved search simply says that notifications are on - there doesn't seem to be any way to specify what kind of notification or to turn off emails. Help?! VC is clogging my inbox.
Has anyone else had the problem in the online game where your finger moves a bit on screen, and all of a sudden you've somehow "flicked" a bunch of cards onto a route you didn't want to play? This has happened to me several times in both the Android app and the Steam game and I am shocked at how easy it is to do. Seems like a big flaw - it is so annoying!!
I don't know why I bother playing the US board online. Every player seems to have the exact same boring strategy: 1) take minimal tickets, 2) gather a million cards, 3) build every 6 track segment. Every 2 player game finishes in about 5 minutes and it's dull dull dull.
Do you sleep with your leg elevated? How do you do it? Do you find it hard? What do you do as a side sleeper?
I'm 3.5 weeks post op for a trimal and have just gone back to work at my desk job, working from home. Just an hour in to the day and I'm already feeling the pressure and discomfort in my leg and foot from not being able to have it elevated. There's no way to have it elevated with my current desk set up, and I can't see myself working effectively from the couch or bed. How are others navigating this?
I've been using Easy Diet Diary which works OK, but it is missing the ability to just add straight calories as a number to your daily total without having to add a food. This is super annoying, particularly with meals where you know the calories per portion - I don't want to have to go through the rigmarole of adding the entire recipe in, I just want to chuck 500 calories onto my day.
I've got a $120 voucher for Carolina Lifestyle from a misguided purchase I ended up returning. I have had this voucher since pre Christmas and I cannot find anything worth using it on. All their items seem so overpriced! If you had this voucher, what would YOU choose? I am a plus size, find their XXL fits me fine.
I'm four weeks post op recovering from a trimal, and I've been using this type of wedge pillow for leg elevation - a plain memory foam wedge with a flat top. It's fine but I find when I'm relaxed my leg wants to flop to one side, which puts pressure on the outside of my ankle and is quite uncomfortable. I'm wondering if it would make much difference to try a pillow with the leg tunnel/groove in the middle. Can anyone share any advice or experience on this? They're not necessarily cheap and I'm not sure if it would make enough of a difference to bother.

Sadly it fell off one day and got a bit bent and scratched, so I decided to buy another one to replace it. I purchased the exact same brooch from the same Farfetch link.
The new brooch has now arrived and I feel like it's not quite the same and not the same as the photo on the website:
- The gold is more rose toned than the first one which was quite a vibrant yellow gold.
- The actual pin part is bowed/bent out at the base and not straight like the first one
- It might be an optical illusion but it looks ever so slightly shorter
I've put them side by side in photos - the new is on the left and the bottom, the old is on the right and the top.
Am I going crazy? Are discrepancies like this normal in these brooches?
Both pins came with branded boxes and certificates etc.
I'm obsessed with malatang hotpot, the type that has sprung up all over town lately. What I want to know is: how can I make this soup base at home?? I've tried a packet of "broth flavour hot pot seasoning" from the Asian grocer but it just tastes like chicken soup, and didn't have that deep red colour or spicy taste. Googling doesn't help much. Anyone got any intel?
Has anyone found a really great leg elevation pillow for their broken ankle? I have a memory foam wedge but it's flat on top and doesn't hold my leg straight, which causes pressure and pain on my ankle. Looking for best options others have found, and would love links!
I have a stack of A4 x 4 sticky labels to print my shipping address labels via My Post Business - but usually I'm only needing to print one at a time. Is there a way to change the position of a single shipping label on the A4 PDF document generated by MPB so I can continue to use the A4 label sheets once the first sticker has been peeled off?

I've just been cleared by my Dr to take the boot off when I'm at home, and to start doing some gentle exercises. What's caught me a bit off guard is that when I try to put my injured foot flat on the ground (no weight), it feels like my entire left leg is shorter than the right leg, and my right leg actually has to bend at the knee to make it feel normal. Is this normal...? Is my leg actually shorter now?!

10 months ago I tripped over walking and smashed my midfoot really badly. Five displaced metatarsals and some broken bits and pieces (I don't know all the jargon). Had screws and pins put in. I'd never broken a bone before or undergone major surgery ever, and it happened in a non English speaking foreign country while I was travelling alone so the whole thing was really quite traumatic. Recovery seemed to take forever, and I had two separate operations to remove the hardware. In the last month or so I was starting to feel back to normal.
Then two weeks ago I slipped on a wet floor, and broke my ankle. Trimalleolar fracture. Same foot. I am devastated, to say the least. Had to have more surgery, installing more screws and a tightrope (?) which will be permanent. I'm back in a boot (a bigger one this time) and back in bed with my foot up. Will be NWB for the next 6 weeks at least.
I feel very unlucky and very low. So much of my life had to be put on hold for so long with the last injury and now I feel like I'm back to square one.
I don't know what I'm looking for here, just wanted somewhere to have a cry I guess. Maybe any stories of people who've had it worse and gotten through it would cheer me up 😉
I've just had ORIF surgery for a fractured ankle. Feeling extra miserable because it's come less than 12 months after ORIF surgery for a fractured midfoot on the same foot, which I was just about recovered from. This time I got a nerve blocker done as part of the surgery, which I didn't have the first time, so I guess I didn't know what to expect. I didn't realise it was going to make my entire leg and foot numb and completely unable to move. The numbness I could cope with, but being fully unable to wiggle my toes is totally freaking me out, psychologically I'm finding it really very difficult to handle. It will apparently last 36 hours so I've probably got about 16 hours to go. Anyone feel like sharing their experiences so I don't feel so weird and alone? 🥺
EDIT: as an update, in case it helps anyone else in future internet land - the nerve blocker started wearing off after about 24 hours. At this point I could scrunch my toes a bit, and I started feeling a bit of nerve burning and electric shock "pings". All manageable but probably a bit stronger than I'd expected. I unfortunately mis-timed my next round of pain meds though so a few hours later was in significant pain until I could get back on the regimen. So as you're coming up to that 24 hour mark with your nervw blocker, make sure you keep taking your pain meds at regular intervals!! 👍
I know the makers say it's not the case, but I'm sorry - you just cannot convince me the AI players aren't cheating in the app game! At least in the Android version I'm playing they are. If I'm mid game and take a new ticket that requires only, say, one additional segment on my already established route to claim it, the AI player will mysteriously claim that exact segment in the next turn, almost every time. It is uncanny. It happens with such regularity I just can't believe it's coincidental!
EDIT: Here's a screenshot to prove my point - this type of thing is happening to me with AI bot players ALL THE TIME. I'm yellow, and picked up a ticket for Goteborg to Turku. All I needed was the Stockholm to Turku segment which was empty. Red and purple AI players were already in both Stockholm and Turku, so no reason for them to be interested in taking that segment. The very next play after I took the ticket was purple, who claimed Stockholm to Turku! Why?! The only explanation that makes sense is cheating, surely??
