I'm visiting FanExpo Philly for the first time next Saturday with a friend of mine! We're going dressed as Hobbits for the LotR event they're holding that weekend. I'm also meeting Sean Astin for a photo-op, which is also a first for me.

Does anyone have any advice for getting the best photo-op experience? Such as, how early should I get in line? What do I do when it's my turn? How long will I have to take the photo? What should I do with myself when I'm getting the photo taken?

I'm pretty nervous because Sean Astin is one of my favorite actors, so any advice would be appreciated!

Going to my first fanexpo next weekend and cosplaying for the first time, I want to go as Inosuke but I don’t know the rules about being shirtless, I’m a male

I’m a photographer and I applied to be a photographer contractor for this event in Southern California. Does anyone have any experience working as a photographer or videographer as these events and can you tell me your experience?

Going to Philly in less than 10 days and wondering when I can plan my day!

FanExpo n00b here. My wife is a HUGE LOTR fan and I want to surprise her with tickets to the expo for the 25th anniversary. Since I'm not a super fan, I didn't know about this expo until today, and all tiers are sold out. I joined the waitlist but how does that work? Can people "return" their tickets or will more get added if demand is high enough?

I'm trying to buy online tickets for the August one in Toronto but I keep getting "payment failed with message: 558: decline"

I thought I messed up one of my information but after a few very carefully more attempts, I don't even get the error message anymore and it just takes me back to the first page for buying stuff! I don't get a "order confirmed!" Or anything! 😖

Second year going to fanexpo and I’ve never cosplayed before (apart from Halloween lol if that counts) and I was curious, is it like socially acceptable in the cosplay world to rewear the same cosplay for all 4 days? Or should i suck it up and make one for every day? Just worried about costs of it all.

I’m planning on going to the Toronto fanexpo on saturday this year but I’m not sure how crowded it’ll be. I went on a thursday last year and it was fairly chill. I’m gonna be wearing big wings so I’m trying to account for the crowd.

So I’m going to FanExpo Denver to get an autograph from David Tennant and I just wanted to know kind of what to expect when getting an autograph bc I know I won’t get to speak a lot with him but at most I want to let him know how much his character of Crowley meant to me (and maybe get a quick hug). So anyone got any experiences to share so I can prep?

Considering finally checking out the Philly FanExpo, but curious on the parking situation? I’ve been to Philly for other things, most had a recommended lot or their own parking garage. Curious how the FanExpo parking situation is? Anyone have any advice?

Hobbit autographs have sold out online. Will they still be available to purchase at the show or am I out of luck?

Hello, I'm going to the FanExpo event in Philadelphia in a few weeks (first time), and I wanted to find out how long it should take to get autographs? The website shows that the FanExpo event is from 4PM to 9PM, and I signed up to get autographs from the casts from Lord of the Rings. My questions are:

- Is there a line to enter the Expo?

- How long does it usually take to receive an autograph from a celebrity?

- Lastly, may I bring my own magic pen for the celebrities to sign my item?

I do not have much free time, so I want to be prepared.

I’m going to FanExpo Denver. The day I’m going opens at 10:00 am. I do not have VIP.

When can I get there to line up?

I have autographs for Orlando Bloom but he has a panel at 11 am. What are the chances I make it through the line before he goes to the panel? OR should I get John Rhys-Davies and then hop in the line the Bloom?

The whole LOTR cast will also have photo ops that will take a lot of their table time. No times for those have been posted yet.

We are finishing up the evening with the panel and need to be in line by 4:50 so I feel like timing is going to be hard.

If anyone has any recommendations let me know!

Hi everyone

My wife is treating us for my birthday to the Evening with the Hobbits in Philadelphia. I’m really excited - have loved these guys since I was 9 years old and seeing them is gonna be so awesome.

A couple questions on this event for anyone who knows / has attended a prior one:

- we bought one backstage pass and one gold ticket. Does that seem like an OK strategy so we can still sit together? Since we are together we didn’t want to buy 2x the autographs and photo ops

- do we redeem these photos/signings at or after the panel, or do they just give us the tickets to use whenever they’re doing their sessions?

Bonus question: this all happens on Friday and we want to get an Orlando Bloom autograph on Saturday. Do you think if I bring a trading card to sign, that needs to be a “premium” autograph ticket, or can you get away with buying the “8x10” tier. I don’t want to accidentally overpay, but also want to follow the rules properly.

Hey, I know this is a long shot but we’re having a hard time finding two rooms for the Denver expo. We had coordinated with an air bnb host and when we went to book, someone else instant booked it for only part of the weekend. Ugh. Just looking for any leads or if anyone needs to cancel their stay. Anything helps. Thanks yall. It will be my first con ever and I’m nervous and excited.

I'm sure this gets asked all the time, but I'm a worrier so here I am. I ordered badges back in late April with shipping for FanExpo Philly but I am yet to receive a tracking email or any way to see their status. I'm worrying they won't come in time. Has anyone else either not received or received a shipping email?

Hey all!! I just purchased tickets to Fan Expo in Toronto, as well as tickets to An Evening with the Hobbits and the Hobbit Autograph 4pack. Very excited about this event, but I’ve never attended anything like this before. What can I expect? Is there anything of importance to note? Anything I should know? Bring?

I have a million questions about the autographs, the evening event and even what to expect on arrival. I’m going to keep looking into this on my own, but I figured this community might be able to help as well :)
