This was Alpha Flight’s first appearance after Volume 2 ended six months earlier. Writer Erik Larsen does seem to be moving the team back towards the original six with new members mostly ignored. It’s a slightly different take on the team but it’s exciting to see them go up against MODOK and AIM. 

The next issue (143, August 25, 1999) continued the story with some favourite Alpha Flight themes: death and resurrection.

I remember just being excited to have any Alpha Flight - even if the art wasn’t always up to my liking. Heather was very sexualized inside. See the blog post linked above for an example.

Refund worked very well

My wife asked about going to see Toy Story 5, so I told her I'd get some tickets for tomorrow night at our local Cineplex.

I put the order in through the app and accidentally bought them for tonight instead (footnote: I wondered why Tuesday tickets seemed to be so much) and when I noticed I asked for a refund. And it worked pretty easily!

I just said "can I get a refund?" and it said "sure, why?" And I said "wrong day!" and they just reversed it very easily. So, yay, the system worked.

So I got a sheet of the coupons which come with the gift cards. Found out that you can use the 2 for 1 coupon with your Cineclub free ticket. Which is handy!

It is always nice when someone would hand you a cassette or cd of some songs that they thought you’d like, or that they were trying to use to get a message to you. And I am pretty sure it won’t happen again.
