Can someone tell me what’s so great about FC4?

Playing through the far cry series for the first time. I thought 3 was great, but after about 8 or so hours in 4, I’m just really unmotivated to play it, for some reason. Is there something I’m missing? Any thoughts?

If Far Cry 3 is about insanity, Far Cry 4 is about escapism, and Far Cry 5 is about paranoia, what do you suppose the overarching theme of Far Cry 2 is?

Every great Far Cry game has an overarching theme to it that permeates through the story and long after the credits roll, Far Cry 2 has many themes of the effects of war and charity. If you had to sum up the theme of Far Cry 2, what would it be?

Only just starting this after logging 800 hrs on both FC3 and 4

Played FC3 and 4 almost a decade ago in 2017 and logged over 800 hours in both games through multiple replays and co-op modes on PC.

Never really got the time or setup to play FC5, but here we are in 2026.

Platinums

Just wanted to share here, as nobody I know has the same feeling of pure love for these games as I do. In my 10 years of gaming, I have only platinumed two games. Those two being primal and 6. I want to platinum 5 but I have played it all the way through 5 times minimum? Who else has platinumed the games and if so which? And which was the most fun?! Also I just want to brag a bit and have nobody to brag too 🤣

Started playing Far Cry 5 and I’ve been finding it to be way better compared to Far Cry 4.

The gameplay is better, locations are better and most importantly, the villains look a lot better compared to Pagan Min in FC4.
