Smashed finger in locker

I was opening my locker some guy ran into me and my finger got pinched badly between him and the locker, immediate pain and it burns to extend out wards fully but when i bend it down it is perfectly fine, it’s extremely purple too.

I have health anxiety. With proper cleaning, ointment, and bandaging, how many times in a day is it prohibited for you to change an infected wound dressing? Will I irritate it if i’m waking up every couple of hours at night (current time, under 24 hours since incident) to wash and change it out?

Probably also worth mentioning that I have pretty bad OCD. I’m not asking whether or not this is completely necessary. I don’t want to make it worse but the waiting to change it out is causing me a lot of stress. The pain is already keeping me up, alongside the anxiety.
I’d love to have a shower (Is it okay to let soap get on the area? The wounds are small but deep. And infected (cat bite / scratch - I am already on the correct antibiotics and got a booster tetanus shot under 12 hours of the incident). I will change it out with Mupirocin ointment, gauze, and cohesive bandaging (I currently have Filoxmull directly over wounds, with Mupirocin ointment on top, wrapped in bandaging from the nurse in urgent care).
Thanks so much!

Does this need stitches?

Sliced my finger on a chipped graduated cylinder in the lab I work in; looks pretty superficial in the photo, but actual tissue is split pretty deep. Bled a lot for the first 45 min or so; bleeding on & off since. 25 y/o female

Left Hand Bitten by Rotweiler

21 M 5’8 170. Hi! I got bit by a rotweiler last night. Went to urgent care today got it cleaned out. They didn’t seal the wound as it was animal related. Wondering best steps to take moving forward and when it would be safe to use steri strips to close it. When I spread my hand as seen above its fairly deep but in a normal position it doesn’t look nearly as bad.

Im sick of it

im 17, female. what can be POSSIBLY the cause of weird bruises or dry after-wound things even though i didn't have wounds? i don't even know how to describe it. im a very sensitive person and i notice EVERY little pinch, every single feeling of pain, so i would definitely notice and feel when i cut myself, hit myself or did something else. but there's nothing. i have prom tomorrow and i wanted clean legs I've been extra careful not to hurt myself but they just appear out of NOWHERE. and it's pissing me off

What does C stand for in DR ABC?

I've seen it as Call for help, circulation and CPR, is it all three? I am with St. John Ambulance and I never know what to teach people what C means when doing demos at events, I normally say CPR, because that's what people always want to learn, is that the correct one?

Edit: Thank you so much for all of the replies! I will start teaching it as Circulation 💛

popped blister after walking through a flood

i walked through a flood about 2 hours ago and just noticed a bubble on my toe. i washed my legs and feet as soon as i got home and drenched myself in alcohol i didnt notice any pain or anything after washing. i also took 2 antibiotic capsules after eating.

the moment i saw the blister i panicked and popped it. should i have done that?? im covering it with a wet wipe now and im worried about getting an infection. the floods in my area are atrocious and straight up sewer water so im pretty nervous about this. ive only ever gotten a water blister from putting my finger too close to a fire and it resolved itself pretty quickly.

what should do right now? will i get an infection from this? could this be caused by the flood?

Good first aid things to keep in home?

Moved into my new place not long ago. I’d really like to have a good first aid set up at home because you just never know. Any good kits you guys recommend?

I’d like to be prepared for literally anything.

Or at least feel like I am. lol

Scalded breast

I had boiling hot water poured directly on the top of my breast for like 5 seconds straight at work yesterday and it peeled back my skin and was pretty painful. After I got home, got it cleaned up, I put hydrocolloid tape on it, but it’s looking super weird under the tape. Should I keep this piece on, replace with a new piece, or remove entirely and let it air out? Photo of the burn when it happened, and what it looks like now beneath the tape like 30 hours later

What causes discoloration like this in less than 24 hours?

I must have hit my tie jumping into the pool yesterday around 5pm. The first couple pics are from yesterday 4-5 hours after I felt pain and then the rest today at 1pm. I don't think its broken.

I am so scared of poison ivy

Today I was just outside setting up a shooting target and I was cutting some branches in the way of the target nothing crazy but definitely took me around 30 seconds to just cut them and press down with my boots. I was wearing cargo pants with a t-shirt. Later I’d say an hour after my dad comes by and he’s points at the area I cleaned and goes that’s poison ivy that too and there , basically everywhere… he started telling me the contamination is as bad as Ebola and you can’t sleep if you have a bad rash.. I have a final exam soon and two jobs and I’m so scared that I’m gonna get a crazy reaction. I sped home ( on the four wheeler ) and took a dawn dish soap shower , put all I was wearing in a trash bag and disinfected my phone. Is my life gonna be hell ? 😭 also right now I do not feel itchy but I know it’s starts after hours 😔

How bad is this cut?

Was cutting potatoes today and accidentally cut my thumb. It was bleeding more than usual but I just slapped a bandaid on it. I went to replace my bandaid and noticed it looks kinda deep even tho it doesn’t hurt. Thoughts?

Keep it covered or let it breath?

I’ve been covering my burn with polysporn and a bandage and changing it daily but I’m wondering if it would heal better/faster with no bandage

Should I take shots

This stray kitten of my hostel scratched me , it didn’t bleed . Should I take any prevention steps? I already washed the wounds. I’m just worried

Stitches? Yay or nay? Is that fat showing?

I put some antibacterial on it. Bleeded a CRAP ton of blood, about a quarter cup. Wrapped in cotton now, but that might not be the right choice...
