Burnt my hand do I need to see a Dr?

Hi,

Burnt my hand today on boiling water trying to pour a cup of tea. After 5 mins it stopped burning and turned into a cool numbing sensation. There's no swelling, but Dr Google said I need to seek medical attention right away. Is this true?

I want to fix it at home and it doesn't hurt anymore, just a slight soreness. Thanks!

How do I Get My YouTube Video to Flip on Android?

My YouTube on my phone, for no reason, stopped flipping videos sideways. I don't know how to fix it. Here are some things I've already tried...

  1. Going into YouTube settings

  2. Clearing cache on my personal phone settings

  3. Google

  4. Looking through phone settings

I've found temporary fixes but it always goes back to not flipping. I do NOT want to turn my phone lock off, as having it off is extremely annoying and I'd rather deal with unflipped videos. I have a Motorola Stylus 5g 2024 if that helps. My husband does not have this problem.

Your Weight Loss Drugs Mean Nothing if You Don't Change Your Lifestyle

I say this as a warning, not to criticize anyone.

My brother started a weight loss drug about 8 months ago to get control of his type 2 diabetes. He has never really taken care of his health. Always ate like crap, never exercised, never made himself a priority.

He was diagnosed with prediabetes almost a decade ago, his doctor told him he needed to change his lifestyle or this would develop into type 2. Obviously, he didn't. It seemed to just get worse from there. He was diagnosed with type 2 about 8 years ago. His diabetes got so out of hand he was prescribed a weight loss drug. I don't remember which one.

After 6 months on it, he lost 30lbs and got his A1C under control. He was so proud of himself and said he felt better than he ever has before. I kept reminding him during these 6 months he needed to change his eating style before getting off it while he doesn't have the food noise. He kept saying he would over and over again but kept eating like he did before, but less.

Well, his doctor took him off 2 months ago and told him he needed to maintain his weight loss and keep his A1C down. Because he did not change his lifestyle or eating habits, he gained all of the weight back in 1 month.

Yes, he gained 30lbs in 1 month. 6 months of progress gone. His A1C is back to his original starting point, and he's back on insulin.

I am begging you, from an outsider looking in, as someone who has lost 95+lbs, from a family member's perspective: if you take a weight loss drug you NEED- not can, NEED- to change your eating habits. My brother is seeing a limb being amputated in his near future, and that is his doctor saying this, not me.

Why are Teenagers so Obsessed with Drinking?

I may be biased in this. I didn't start drinking until I was 21. When I was a teenager, it just never crossed my mind to drink and I saw what it did to my alcoholic parents. I was never tempted to drink, even when my friends would shove beer bottles in my face at parties. I always turned it down and just enjoyed the party or wherever I was at.

All of my friends in high school were getting wasted on the weekends. I would hear stories from my parents and their friends as teenagers getting wasted. My cousin, who just turned 18, has been drinking for almost 4 years. I hear on the news of teenagers crashing after illegally drinking.

I live in the US, where the legal drinking age is 21+, so I also don't understand why they would want to break the law? Why stop at drinking? Where will the law breaking end?

I still don't understand this drinking obsession, if I do drink, it's no more than a few drinks. It probably doesn't help that I have an Irish/German liver, so it takes A LOT to get me drunk.

What's the buzz all about with teenagers and drinking??

What's the Biggest Poop You've Ever Taken?

My family and I do this weird thing where we weigh ourselves before and after poop to see how big it was. Mine was just under 2lbs. I think it was like 1.8lbs (0.82kg). Never got close to that again.

I like watching TV before going to bed every night. I like to watch new shows. I have had to drop so many because it shows women getting Abortions. I'm not even anti abortion or pro life. I'm just tired of seeing this. Can we see maybe just one where a woman takes accountability for her actions? I know a lot of my family watched these shows with their children who are teenagers. What message is this sending to the younger generations?

Ope, the show is losing the plot? Let's get one of them pregnant! How will she deal with this predicament!? The same way every other show will. I used to ignore this topic in TV shows because I liked the story and gotta do what you gotta do, whatever. But why does every show made recently need this?

My ex-friend and I had a falling out almost 2 years ago. We used to be best friends, she was really close to my (then boyfriend) husband. I didn't realize it then, but she was a really bad friend. Using me, trying to steal my bf, and was just an awful person.

I took the time after this whole thing to grow closer to my husband, think about what I could've done better in the friendship, what I should expect out of the next one, how to be a better person, and went to therapy.

Even though I lost a really good friend (or thought so), I gained so many more who are actually good, genuine people. I began to take pride in my appearance, lost 95lbs, got married, we're looking at houses, and got a really nice new car. My life is the best it's ever been.

It caught me off guard when I first saw her at the store a couple weeks ago. I kind of expected her to do the same thing as me, reflect on the relationship and build on it. Especially since she talked so much about bettering her life and getting fit for her bf. Instead, she looked like she put on 100lbs. Even though it was only 2yrs, she looked as if she aged 10. She used to wear really stylish clothes, but she was in a t-shirt that looked one size too small and sweatpants. She's only early 30s, but she had so much gray. I guess her bf dumped her because she was with a new guy, holding hands and kissing her.

Her last BF was extremely buff and made $200k+ a year. She didn't have to work or clean or cook. She just had to exist and she got whatever she wanted. He was saving up to buy her a new car that was really nice and fast. This new bf looked out of shape, unshowered, and a mess.

I walked away to meet up with my husband after seeing her. I was laughing about the irony as I told him what had happened. He laughed with me. The same girl who made fun of me for being fat, purposely buying me too small clothes to watch me put them on and struggle, put on what I had lost. The same girl who tried so very hard to steal my husband got a slum while I married him. We laughed a little bit about it and forgot about it then left. As we were driving out of the parking lot, we saw her again in her car, the same 2012 beater that constantly broke down. I guess she never got that new car.

After thinking about it for a while now, I felt bad for the way I felt, almost guilty. She looked so sad in the store, and when we locked eyes, even though for only a second, she looked... ashamed(?)

If the way she looks is the truth- Occams razor, right?- I would never wish that on anyone. She had everything, now nothing. I've never stopped praying for her over the last 2 years, I hoped she would heal like I have. Build a big beautiful family structure with plenty of friends. Even though I feel really satisfied with seeing her that way and the way she treated me, I hope I'm wrong and that she's living her best life.
