I’m not sure what it is? The collar and the overall structure just feel off even if the button down is a soft fabric.
So I have been wanting a long black dress for summer for a while and I have been on a haunt for a while now. I have not been very successful. I do want it to be very simple with no details overall so I can add statement piece kind of accessories. I usually wear very tight-fitting clothes as they got compliments the most but for long black dresses, it did not work. Here are 2 dresses I have tried that highlights the issues I want to avoid: the very tight one looks very weird due to fabric not fitting my waist. And the other one looks just ... off. I look very disproportionate.
Do you guys have any recommendations for what I should look out for in dresses?
yeah... like the title. about to go out and i tried to do everything right but i'm worried it's a train wreck
ok i feeeeel like this works but idk why. does it seem like it works to you guys? if so, why? if not, what could be better?
still figuring this stuff out, so tysm for any input
I have been considering breast Augmentation. I am a FN with a small B currently. I feel like they get lost in my shoulder width.
Any FNs out there who have had an enlargement? I'm not talking crazy, just one or one and a half sizes. I'm worried it will make me look like I've gained weight since nothing about me is dainty.
Hoping for some real life experience.
Hi! I currently feel like the more I get into Kibbe, the more confused I am about where I fit into it. Perhaps it’s not for me at all, but I’m still curious on your thoughts and if maybe this is the place I fit into!
(sorry for the amount of pictures - i was clearing out my closet and felt like trying on a lot of different stuff haha)
From most descriptions, FN seems most likely, due to my broad torso area. Though I feel I might be too small at 5’4“(?) My bone structure seems more sharp instead of blunt (my elbows make a really edgy ‚V’ shape when bent, for example). Some suggestions for FNs seem to work really well (boat necks), while others don’t (flowy, long dresses feel kinda off; i always feel like they wear me more than I wear them).
So while I think I definitely have some vertical, I cannot quite put a finger on what accompanies it. There seems to be a little bit of everything?
In my country/environment I’m considered relatively small (i’m northern European - many people here are 5‘9“ and over) and I very often have to size down on clothing. People mostly describe my general vibe as cute, which might also be because of my style borrowing from Gamine territory a lot (i was very into twee fashion during the 2010s)
Still, gamine also doesn’t seem to fit since I’m too tall and don’t seem to have their compactness.
hey, guys. i'm having second thoughts about this purchase. i'm wondering if this is gonna look good after all??
anyways i would appreciate advice on how to style, or if i should literally just try to return or resell lol.
i loved that i can separate the pieces, and i wanted smth argyle. i'm now worrying it looks too blatantly fall, but my sister said it looks 70s? maybe it could be that... hopefully i get the pieces and they look great, but lmk guys. it's rough out here XD
hi all! i’d love to know if you think i’m an fn. i’ve always struggled as i don’t feel like i fit the dramatic descriptions and thought that soft natural fit more, but i’m 5’8, so that was ruled out.
i recently came to the conclusion that i might be an fn and have been dressing differently in light of that and liking the results! i am curvy but i feel that i do have some width in my chest and shoulders. i included the best photos i have (unfortunately i don’t own a full-length mirror) at some different weights. i also have my best attempt at a line drawing, which i can add if it would be helpful. thanks so much for any insight you have!!
I suspect I’m a flamboyant natural (kibbe). F 28 5’7 & 1/2
Hi! I have the idea of getting into knitting and leg warmers seem to be an easy starter project or at least small to start. I just wanted to know if it would suit us or if it would break the vertical line too much.
Please no comments of "I would hate them on me", or "I wouldn't, but you do you ig" because that just isn't helpful, its just a question of our body type and not your personal tastes and again, is just a question before I've even picked out the yarn or pattern. I do however plan on the more "baggy at the bottom" and cable knit patterns than the thin ones and the would be at mid-calf maximum in height.
Thank you in advance!
We had a chilly May and June here. Lots of peasant skirts, slouchy sweaters, sundresses… and notes on a few outfits. Feedback welcome.
3 and 4. This skirt would make the list of my most-worn in all seasons items of the year.
7-12. Obviously living in these slouchy Madewell sweaters.
13 and 14. I think these are good examples of being able to carry a lot of visual weight at the shoulder/not being a dramatic. The off-shoulder necklines are much better than the spaghetti straps (too delicate and placed too far 'in' on the bodice, emphasizing width in upper body without really accommodating it) in 15.
The fullness of the skirt doesn’t really work on me and the embroidery on the tiers breaks my vertical line. It’s all a little too fussy, so I’m going to resell this.
This was just a try-on and return, the only outfit I didn't actually end up wearing. The ruching and slit were kind of awful, too slinky and body-hugging, though I love the print.
This looks a little frumpy! I think if the top were more fitted (and the boatneck not quite so drapey), it would work. I like the mix of greens.
I loved this dress for a black-tie wedding.
So I am 5'8"- 173 cm tall, I am sure that I am a FN and I have a visibly short torso. I buy shirts that are supposed to be crop tops and they usually look like full lenght tops on me. I used to solve this issue by simply wearing tighter clothing with baggy/flowy pants and skirts but recently I have visibly lost weight due to a health issue and now I cannot accommodate for my shoulders while keeping the waist part snug enough. That hasnt been an issue for summer as I wore sleeveless tops but I am worried about winter.
I am trying to lean more into flowy looks for tops now but most of the options I have encountered are a bit too long to tuck it into my pants to fix it. Keeping it untucked also looks awkward to me (maybe because I am not used to it?) Does anyone have any recommendations?
