Newly carpeted stairs - replace only the treads with hardwood? Cat trouble

Short story is bought house, replaced all old flooring and carpets with a good Torlys, and recarpeted the stairs.

We applied 3 coats of Killz to all the subflooring and the cats haven’t messed up anywhere, except the runs on the newly carpeted stairs. In the 8 years we’ve had them, they periodically pee on carpet only. They are Bengals and there’s a backstory to doing all we can to prevent them from peeing, but now on our newly carpeted stairs, but nowhere else. It screams to me, don’t have any carpet anywhere.

Am I crazy to think we could replace the stair treads with the same wood flooring and leave the berber on the rises and sides?

I can’t find examples so I think I may be crazy but it seems the carpet isn’t working for the Bengals, our family pets.

Thoughts?

Remove tile or lay lvp over?

Hi everyone!

Novice diyer here installing lvp for the second ish time! My husband and I installed lvp last weekend in one room of our home and now need to install on the first floor of our home. The only problem is, there are three different floors in this area. We would like to keep the bathroom tile on the far right and replace the carpet and middle hallway tile with lvp. I know that when I remove the carpet there will be a difference in height with the hallway tile based on the first room we did.

Is it better to remove the hallway tile and use a reducer for the height difference with the bathroom tile?

If we leave the hallway tile and put lvp over it, I’m afraid that we will need to use two reducers or transition strips since the carpeted subfloor is lower and the lvp install over the tile in the hallway will then be higher than the bathroom tile. I would like to minimize how many reducers or transition strips used for a more seamless look.
