FRT + Piston System

Looking for recommendations on a piston system that works well with FRTs. The whole point of the build is to be a “M27 we have at home”. Don’t really want to buy a HK.

Evaluated the RB FRT-15L3 and Disruptor

Title says it all. Bought both the RB and Disruptor and evaluated them both this afternoon at the range. I was purely focused on function and reliability, not accuracy. RB was in a 14.5 XM177E2 clone with a std carbine spring and an H3 buffer. Disruptor was in a 11.5 also std carbine spring and H3 buffer. I did 3 round bursts and mag dumps on both. 200 rounds of std 55 grain 5.56 M193 ammo. Both are generic PSA lowers with M16 BCGs

Both the RB and Disruptor had *zero* fails. No FTEs, FTFs or light strikes. Both ejected the brass at around 3:30 or 4 o'clock. Cyclic rate was identical- not too fast, very controllable.

The only difference between the two was this- the RB came with a little extra hardware (two small star wrenches and some extra screws) and the housing for the RB was (to me) built a little tougher.

Disruptor was pretty bare bones in the package (just the trigger, safety and antiwalk pins/screws) and the frame was cut a bit lower- in my view a little less robust.

Final verdict for me- Get the Disruptor. It functions identically to the RB and is 200 shekels less. The extra cost for the RB didn't justify the small mount of extra hardware. Of course I still have to see about long term reliability, but I don't foresee that being an issue going forward. Both seem to be engineered well enough to tolerate the forces involved during FRT function.

Also- H3 buffer is a must if you want to use these reliably. You *might* be able to get away with using an H2 but your cyclic may be too fast which can cause FTEs or FTFs/light primer strikes.

Bear selectable FRT for the money?

Looking for FRTs, I notice there are several options out there. I'm looking specifically for a 3 position selectable, and see stuff from $300 all the way up to $700 and want to know what everyone thinks is the best for the money. If the $300 ones work just as well as the $700 ones then that's what I want. What triggers do you guys have and do you think they're worth it?

Links and suggestions are all appreciated - I'd like to save as much money as possible while still getting good functionality here. I don't mind mil-spec weight, and in fact prefer it.

PARA-15 Trigger - Worth anything?

I have a Para-15 FRT trigger I bought from Trigger Empire a few years back. I have run a few hundred rounds through it. Does this have any value today with all of the newer style FRT triggers out there, or is it worthless or obsolete? I don’t have an interest in using it, but it was fun at the time.

Best FRT or super safety for PSA AR15

I’ve seen a lot of posts that almost answer my question but not exactly so I’m finally posting instead of just reading.

I want to get an FRT or super safety for a PSA 5.56 AR15 with a 16” barrel, in either this or something similar:

https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-mid-length-5-56-nato-1-7-nitride-15-lightweight-hex-m-lok-classic-rifle.html

What matters:

-reliability

-longevity

-ease of repair/replacement

-making no or only minimal permanent modifications to gun (changing out parts is fine but I’d prefer avoiding shaving/dremeling anything)

What doesn’t matter:

-price

-the form of the selector (what I mean is some people say a push button switches between modes way too easily so a 3-position selector is better but that doesn’t matter to me, I mainly want it to function well & for a long time)

-how you feel about a company (I’ve heard all kinds of things about Rare Breed & Arizona Regulator, I only care about the product, not the history, politics, or personnel, unless we’re taking about things that affect the product like customer service)

DTT FRT-15 L3 Issue

I installed a dtt 3 position frt in my Daniel defense m4a1 and it was running just fine for around 300 rounds. Zero issues. Last couple range trips it has started to fire multiple round bursts in semi. It was only every couple mags at first, but now it's almost every time I pull the trigger. Any ideas on whats causing it? I haven't changed anything about the rifle and after taking the trigger out it looks basically brand new. I am running an H2 buffer.

ARC Fire V2 Install Issues

Im trying to install the ARC Fire v2 on my Ruger AR-556 and running into some issues.

Firstly, the trigger is not dry firing in Semi or ARC unless i first depress the disconnector and the hammer moves up to a slightly higher position, and then it will fire if the ARC fire lever is positioned toward to muzzle end.

Second, even after making room by grinding away the high shelf for the lever to travel back far enough, im still getting binding when charging the BCG. Do i also need to remove material from the upper?

Ive been looking all over and cant seem to find a guide that clearly explains the issues im having. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

FRT compatibility?

I am wanting to drop an FRT into my FN military collector m4 lower. Never had an issue in other lowers, but Is the shelf too high on these? I know you can dremel if needed but I will likely bubba the shit out of it.

3 position Trigger Kicker

YES I know it has trigger follow. All parts are 3d printed for mockup. Its faster and cheaper than machining a bunch of non-working parts until you get functioning parts.

After a few cycles the plastic wears the edges that holds the kicker. This was mainly to see how to add the disconnect, and what needs to be done with the saftey. You can see the disconnect move away and the kicker pushing when in the 3rd position.

Now that I have a better idea, ill machine the parts.

Disruptor FRT

I want a drop in AR15 trigger and it seems the choice is between RB and Disruptor. I heard the Disruptor forces the trigger reset forward even in semi mode? is this true or does the RB trigger do the same thing? Looking to make an informed choice.
