Story time, that fucker at the side of the road is parked. When I got close enough, Its those older cars that definitely wasnt made for LED bulbs. I come to find out its foggy headlights. Yes it does make your headlight dimmer but LED isnt the solution. Its barely brighter but because its placed between a diffused light source, you have the ability to flashbang people 90 degrees off from where you face.
Remember, the solution to dim headlights is likely removing the oxidized plastic, not fucking LED bulbs that still throws light everywhere because idk, your headlights are foggy? Instead of going for the solution, you just gave it another problem
How about we fix the blinding headlight issue before developing horrors like this... ?
>At this year’s Beijing Auto Show, part of Huawei’s Qiankun technology conference, the company debuted a new car headlight platform that integrates a full-color projection system for both safety features and recreational fun.
>The new XPixel platform has been upgraded from its previous iteration, which was only available in monochrome, to now feature full-color projection that can throw a 100-inch picture onto a wall or projection screen. According to Huawei, this is the first time full-color projection has been adapted into automotive headlights.
>While this novelty could turn any place into a private drive-in movie, demos at the show showed how the technology can also project arrows onto the road to help drivers navigate. Other use-cases shown at the show included the projection of games, as well as graphics that synced up with any music being played.

my car is so low to the ground (from factory) that every single car completely blinds me and lights up my entire interior. whether they’re passing me or cruising behind me this is the nauseating, headache causing and eye aching issue I've had to deal with for the past 8 months.
it’s so bad that even during the day time I’m still blinded by a variety of mostly LED cars. and to make it worse regular cars and SUVs have been the ones blinding me like how the crazy bright truck drivers blind everyone, except regular cars make up the majority of the road so I’m constantly getting my retinas fried. my wife has to always cover her side mirror or face.
i took this photo with an iPhone 16 so the camera isn’t exaggerating the brightness by any means.
this is my daily struggle. a struggle I never intended to have to go through, nor did I anticipate this type of problem when choosing/buying my dream car. but it’s a struggle I endure for the sake of fun
Driving a little north of kitchener ontario - these lights are a safety hazard
Are you for real? What the fuck is this! So dangerous and seemingly intentional

How am I just discovering this sub????? I feel so seen, validated, like the universe just hit my tone. I thought I was the only AH who HATES these new(ish) headlights. I feel like an old person, who can’t see at night. Nope just turns out the laser beams burning out my eyeballs is much more universally hated. I wish I could bash in these lightbulbs with a baseball bat. I hate it allllll. Thank you x1000
So i was just recently diagnosed with MS. And this new flare up triggered my vision to go slightly blurry. Im better now after I was through this flare... however. How driving at night or the dawn/twilight... headlights are making me crazy. I can see the spectrum of lite in some headlights. And the LED ones are so bright they have a halo around them. I feel like everyone is driving with the high beams on. Why can't car manufacturers take this into account and put a cap on the obnoxious brightness.
2 halogen low beam sedans and then a Ford Explorer Patrol Vehicle. *worse in person but pretty damn accurate.
Before anyone gives me driving advice, we drive on the left here.
It’s not just ridiculous aftermarket LEDs, all automakers now install extremely bright stock high beam lights.

This is awesome! This is the first instance I've ever heard of the police actually doing anything about this massive worldwide problem. I hope this sets a precedent.
Is it just me, or has driving at night become a total nightmare lately? I was out on some A-roads last night and felt like I was being interrogated by every second car passing me. Even with standard low beams, modern SUVs and those new LED setups are so bright they genuinely blind you for a second or two, especially if you’re in something lower to the ground. I’m starting to dread rain at night because the reflection off the road just doubles the glare.
Does anyone else feel like they’re constantly being flashed when they actually just have their normal lights on?
Regulation IS required because WHY are these headlights on every car??? Up until recently I drove a 2016 Nissan Versa with normal headlights. I was recently lucky enough to buy a new to me car. I was ran off the interstate by a cybertruck in my Nissan Versa and it was a whole thing.
Anyways, I got a 2025 Mazda cx-30 because interest rates on older vehicles are extremely cursed. I wanted to get rid of the LED headlights because only to find out…..I can’t? Is this right? Is there something I don’t know? Not only are the LED headlights legal, I HAVE to have them? I looked for the whole headlight assembly, do I need to have a part number? People modify their cars all the time why doesn’t it include headlights?
IK it's beating a dead horse, but I keep getting blinded in my Mini by the supernova LED headlights of approaching cars. It's been talked about a lot here and there are murmurs about new regulations too.
Decided to do some digging (real talk: I'm a student journalist so want to write something about it). Just found out from a Freedom of Information request to the Department for Transportation that complaints about dazzling/blinding headlights are basically doubling year-on-year.
Year Number of cases:
2023 16
2024 31
2025 59
Would really appreciate it if anyone can give any statements/quotes/anecdotes about driving at night and how annoying it's getting. Cheers everyone
Firstly fuck anyone with stupid bright headlights that dazzle and the companies that put them on the vehicles they sell.
Having said this I have just brought a bike and am coming to realise why people seem to always drive around with LED lights on high.
On my old bike I can comfortably ride around with my halogen low beams on at night and see well enough into the distance with lower intensity light that fades into the distance to drive at highway speeds and it is rare that I need to use my high beams.
On the new bike everything immediately ahead of me is illuminated extremely well but anything immediately past the very sharp LED cutoff is pretty much still dark so I am finding myself needing to use high beam at highway speed in order to see which frustrates the hell out of me.
When I hit high beam I can see clearly a long way into the distance but it makes it difficult to spot vehicles coming the opposite direction and dip my lights before they get hit with my daylight making devices that the manufacturer has fitted.
I really think vehicle manufacturers need to find a different technology.
They don’t make it so I’m unable to see the road like these headlights do, but they do seem overly bright.
