Fullmetal Panic Fumofu episode 12

I just finished watching it for the first time, so in episode 12, sagara brings a biochemical weapon to school which everyone assumed was lethal. There was one antidote but that got broken and wasted too. At the last scene sagara takes chidori to the nursing room and tells her to strip and chidori thought he was gonna crack her, now the twist comes after this scene where we found out it was a cloth destroyer type of weapon, which sagara also found out later, now my question is since he wasn’t still aware about the actual outcome and the antidote also got wasted, why did he asked chidori to take her cloths off? Knowing sagara he ain’t the type to do “that”, so what was he gonna do?

Hello from a long time fan.

I literally just made an account for this! I've been a fan since the early 2000s, and I'm really happy to finally be here and join the community.

I recently came back because of the FMP family, and it's been great reconnecting with something I've enjoyed for so many years. I'm especially excited that Sousuke and Kaname now have a family it makes me so happy to see how things have grown and developed.

I've been a fan for a long time, and I'm glad to be part of this community. Nice to meet all of you.

Why'd they introduce to what is the equivalent of the shining powers from The Shining 3/4ths of the way in in a military mecha anime?

Before I say anything, I watched this a few months ago so my memory isn't that right. Anyways, I just don't understand why'd they introduce the shining powers (without the "talking to dead people" part) 3/4ths of the way in, I know it's not called that but I just remember when they were talking about it I just thought "Dude they just have the shining". I just don't know why they introduced this type of stuff so far into the series, isn't this supposed to be a military mecha anime? Like, going off course, but the MC's arc in the desert was really really good, it was devastating to see him kill his childhood friend and also see all his comrades die as well in almost the same way his old crew died as well, leaving him the sole survivor. It was an phenomenal arc. And then they just decided to introduce physic powers. I wouldn't be upset if they introduced this type of thing a bit earlier in the series but nope, we're introducing shining powers during the final arc of the show instead of doing something like making the Herorine a sleeper agent containing all the secrets of that mech or something more realistic. It just completely broke my immersion of the show and it just wasn't the same after that. But this whole issue could just be my problem and I'm just a fun police.
