I found this at the thrift store last week priced for 199.98. Tonight I went in after work to decompress a bit, and to my surprise they still had it for $89.89. I ended up pulling the trigger on it. I also had a 20% off coupon. It weighs 73 g. And has. 2000. Tiffany and Co. 925 stamped on the side of it. Was told r/functionalsilver would appreciate this find.
I picked up this piece at Goodwill. Right now I'm trying to research it and figure out who the original person who commissioned it might be. Right now my theory is that this is a female Moor's head of the type that is used in heraldry.
There are several families that are known to use Moor's heads in the family crest.
I'm also trying to figure out if there are any other examples of a female Moor's head engraved on sterling silver during the Victorian era.
My grandma from Ukraine sent me this silver podstakannik with a matching silver spoon. I always associated these with old train rides and tea served in glass cups.
Really like the weight and detail on it — feels like one of those objects made to last forever.
Sterling Silver pendant with St. Luke I received for my Confirmation.
Looks to be a 1930s Sterling Silver Chatelaine made by Webster. The thimble was with purchased with it but I don’t think was originally with it.
