Ice bucket challenge?

Next time you go to a hotel room fill the ice bucket with quarters, then go ask for 3 more from the front desk.

Pro tip: don't forget to put the "do not disturb" sign on the door or the cleaning ladies will start grabbing handfuls at a time when you're gone.

My average find vs everyone else

Just a single chewed up coin that got spit out after I turned it on.

Hotel dryer

Someone left 21¢ on the counter next to the dryer so it made me want to take my squeegee under it. Only a '76 dime.

1920 Canadian 80%

Pulled this out of the bag of dimes I'm currently working on. I'll post results when I'm done but I had to throw this up. Cheers to my fellow Canadian coin hunters! 🇨🇦

Mail call....2x

Huge thank you to u/perspectiveeven4444 to starting a mini badge collection for my kid and to u/1bufferzone for getting me the 2026 P half I needed for my 250 album.

You guys are incredible, thank you!

Half find & just picked up fresh bags!

Found this half (clad) in a Loomis roll. There wasn't anything interesting in the brown wrapper half unfortunately.

But I stopped by my bank today and they were holding these 3 bags for me! I walked in and she said "Quarters?" I was like heck yeah! I thought there weren't going to be any because I was too busy to get in on the day they ship them out. But apparently they know I'm a coin bag hippo so they "saved" them by not shipping anything out this week.

Thank your tellers people! This goes out to you u/Mountain_Cobbler_381! You guys are the best for letting us coin nuts continue our hobby!

Now time to dive into 8,000 quarters and 10,000 dimes. Wish me luck!

Treasure of the day: Boobie Cups....you heard me!

Ok, this is going to get some interesting responses but here's the situation....

My wife is pregnant and she likes to brain rot with her morning coffee by watching "trending videos".

You could imagine the amount of baby, prego, nursing crap that gets shoved into her feed by some weird algorithm we'll never understand.

Well apparently a "hip" trend among new mothers is to wear these silver nipple cups post nursing. This isn't really a new trend at all rather they have been used for centuries. I will let you guys do your own "nipple cup research" but apparently these help heal post-nursing.

When she told me about these all I heard was the word SILVER so instantly I went to work. She sent me a link to some that were .925 (92.5% pure silver) but when I priced them out, it came out to over $200/oz. So I started "researching" and found these Momcozy brand ones that are .999 (99.9% pure) silver. I started by ordering the XL size for $17.99. when they arrived I immediately weighed them and they came out to 9.04 grams.

With the current spot price of silver being at $2.09/g, there is $18.89 in silver in these. Ok so I made a buck, big deal.

I go to eBay the next day and find a set of the XXL for the same price of $17.99 plus free shipping. When those arrived I again weighed them and they came out to be 15.00 grams with a melt value of $31.35.

People! I've cracked the code to silver stacking! Buy nipple cups! 🤣

Seriously though, 74% is a pretty darn good return on investment but I'm not going to be stacking these things. This was just me curious more than anything and thought it was really hilarious.

Old wrapper jackpot

I'm glad I stopped by this particular branch today as they said someone brought these in yesterday. I don't ever find anything good in these old brown wrappers so I wasn't expecting anything. This time was different! The newest coin I found in them was an '83.

It's been a long time since I've pulled a Benji, happy to see there's at least one out there still.

Bank called me for these ones!

To be honest, it's probably one of the best $1,000 quarter searches I've done in a while. I got a call when I was out of town and the message went like this...

"Hey (name), this is (name) from (name) bank and just wanted to let you know that a lady just came in and dropped off her coins she said she's been saving for a long time. I think it might be like a collection or something. Anyways, if you're interested we dumped it all into our coin machine and have it bagged up if you want to come get it."

I couldn't get home fast enough. I was surprised to see 2 W's and 2 newer proofs since it was supposed to be an "older collection".

The two silvers were oh so sweet and my favorite is the Norwegian Krone. I'm over 70% Norwegian, sorry guys!

I also picked up a wide rim a SBA and a war nickel out of this same person's drop off.

Thank your tellers!

Wide Rim SBA

Bottom coin in the first pic and the left coin in the 2nd pic makes my 3rd wide rim '79 p SBA in the wild.

Time to hunt some bags since my halves were a bust.

Happy Friday y'all!

Anyone want to trade a 2026 P half for a D? I've got 6,000 of them 🤦‍♂️

I don't even think there are known errors to look for yet, only the Philly mint has the known die clash.

But if anyone has a couple of Philly mint halves, I'd find my best two D mint and swap?!

Donuts for the tellers today!
