Couldn't pass up this beauty for $1.

This novelty penny was created in response to inflation that occurred under the Nixon administration, implying that the penny was becoming smaller or less valuable.

A couple of impaired proofs and a '58 Rosie to start the day. Going to be a good Sunday for football!

My 6 year old gets excited about half dollar boxes, mostly for building houses and towers out of the rolls. We were down to the last 7 rolls when he dropped his coins on the table and heard it. He was so proud of this 40% 1967 that I put it in a capsule for him to save.

This is what it's all about right here! 💙

Did a little 3 bank round up to see what they had for halves. Nothing special out of the Loomis rolls besides a few more for another member of this sub that we're helping each other out with.

The Benji was a sight for sore eyes. It's been about 3 months since I've found one and my daughter quickly reminded me it was her who found the last Benjamin (she's got it in her coin stash 😉).

Found this old match in a $1,000 bag of loose dimes along with some other silver. I have no clue how it made its way through the machine 🤷‍♂️

I posted this yesterday over on another sub and it sparked a lot of conversation so I thought I'd post it here. This is what a cast, Chinese origin, 1909-S v.d.b. looks like.

I was so disgusted by this I had to immediately stamp an X on it. Looking back, I should have stamped it with the 💩.

I still remember the last thing my grandpa said before he kicked the bucket.

"Hey, watch me kick this bucket!"

This had my daughter speechless laughing for a good 30 seconds and my 6 year didn't quite get the punchline but thought the idea of kicking buckets was hilarious! 🤣

I will say, it was a very tough decision for those two between the buckets joke and u/wemedge joke....

As I handed my Dad his 50th birthday card, he looked at me with tears in his eyes and said,  

"You know, one would have been enough."

The '64 came from $3.50 in loose teller change and the nickel from a box.

Opened that 1st yesterday and found a nice '67. The rest didn't disappoint. I feel like this might be one of those cases where someone thought only '64 and before are silver. I've run into that before with a teller handing me rolls labeled 1966 & 1967 where they are pure silver and the teller said, I already got all of the silver ones.

Costco's $1.99 grab and go slice is my go to whenever I'm there.

Good start to the $300 in halves. First roll had '67 so I'm setting aside until I get through the nickels I grabbed today.

They are very trustworthy lending me their vault roll trays.

Last week I rounded up 2 bags of each. Here's how much of each was searched.

10,000 pennies, 8,000 nickels, 20,000 dimes & 8,000 quarters.

I definitely found a herd of buffalo 🦬🦬🦬 but 1901 Liberty Head was the best find of my entire search! Dimes came through solid with 3 more silver than my average for that quantity searched.

Lots of foreign coins as well (mostly Canadian cents) and a few fun machine or "dryer" coins.
