Nahid is 9 years old she lives in Iran with her mother and younger sister her father has passed away she has liver cancer
A few months ago nahid's brother was killed by government
forces during the people's protests against the regime
in January and now, as punishment the Islamic Republic has cut off her family's health insurance
The Iranian government is systematically cancelling
health coverage for thousands of families not by accident but under the excuse of budget deficits and economic pressure
caused by the regime's own warmongering the same regime that spends billions of Iranian people's money funding proxy wars across the region,building and exporting missiles and drones and then turns to its own people and says we can't afford your insurance
An apocalyptic ideology that has caused crippling sanctions
and taken 90 million people hostage
Nahid's family lost their coverage now they pay for everything out of pocket
Her medication alone costs $450 every month
A widowed mother two daughters no insurance no safety net
They lost their brother and now they're losing nahid too just a 9 year old girl who deserves to live
Before my family and some of nahid's relatives were able to
cover her monthly food and medication costs because inflation
was lower and her medication cost around $85 a month
But now it's $450 a month just for the medication.
We're still helping but we can no longer cover everything
because of financial pressures we can only afford some of
her most essential medications right now and some critical
ones are being skipped, I'm not asking you to cover everything
I'm just asking if you can give whatever you're able to any amount helps
Every dollar goes directly to this family
I know them personally, I will post proof of every transfer

I’m currently studying biomedical sciences in Europe (Belgium) after moving abroad to pursue a better education and build a future for myself.
Over the past months, things have become financially difficult for my family because my father has been experiencing problems with work and I also have a little sister and little brother who also have their expenses. Until now, my parents have done everything they could to support my studies, and I’m deeply grateful for that.
I’ve been trying to become financially independent by searching for a student job for more than six months, but despite applying continuously, I still haven’t been able to find stable work. Between tuition costs, school expenses, housing, transportation, and daily living costs, next year is becoming increasingly difficult for me to manage alone. This is my last resort, and also a cry for help as I'm still actively searching for a job this summer...
I’m not asking for luxury or comfort — only for the chance to continue my education without having to give up on the future I’ve worked so hard to build.
Studying biomedical sciences is incredibly important to me. I chose this path because I want to work in healthcare and science and eventually help others through my future career.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would help me continue my studies and relieve some of the financial pressure during this difficult period. And if you cannot donate, simply sharing this campaign would already mean so much to me. I recently attendee the NACCDO (National Association of Cancer Center Development Professionals). It was a great conference but at every corner they were talking about AI. It was a drinking game at some point. If you are using it, what has been helpful or overhyped? We use it at my organization and will expand.

I am a student currently volunteering for a short 7-day internship campaign with the She Can Foundation (shecanfoundation.org). We work toward women's empowerment, education, and distributing menstrual hygiene kits to girls.

HELP US BUILD “ECHOES OF ELLIOT” — Giving Free Instruments & Hope to Kids
Hey everyone, my name is Michael. I’m a musician, music teacher, and father here in Merced, and I wanted to share something deeply personal that I’ve been trying to build called Echoes of Elliot.
This project started because of my son, Elliot.
Like a lot of people, life has thrown some heavy things at me over the years. Music became the one place where I could process pain, heal, create, and still feel connected to hope. Somewhere along the way, I realized I didn’t just want to make music anymore — I wanted to create something that could genuinely help people, especially kids who may never otherwise get the chance to explore music.
That’s where Echoes of Elliot came from.
The dream is to build a small community-focused music studio and creative space here in Merced where kids, families, and local musicians can feel safe, inspired, and supported. Not just a recording studio, but a place with purpose.
The goal is to:
- repair instruments for kids and families who can’t afford repairs
- collect donated instruments and eventually give them away
- teach music lessons and recording
- mentor young artists
- give local musicians a place to create
- build a positive outlet through music and creativity
I know firsthand how powerful music can be when someone feels lost, overwhelmed, or alone. One instrument, one lesson, or one encouraging conversation can completely change someone’s path.
Right now I’m trying to slowly build this from the ground up with whatever I can. I’ve been recording, teaching, creating content, and putting everything I have into making this vision real.
I’m reaching out because I know communities are built through people helping people.
If anyone knows:
- local businesses that support community projects
- organizations or churches that help youth programs
- people with unused instruments or music gear
- anyone willing to collaborate, donate, or even share advice
—I would truly appreciate it.
Even simply sharing this post means more than most people realize.
I don’t expect overnight success. I just want to create something meaningful here in Merced that leaves a positive impact long after I’m gone.

Been a nightmare suffering for 6 years. Had my music to keep me going since I create music. It can only take you so far. Cannot do anything else when organs are failing. Since some improvement in medical field has been made, Found hope on a couple of hospitals. But I can't afford the treatment
Been a struggle to stay on clear liquids for 6 years due to my illnesses and that to struggled to swallow. And for last 3 weeks, I cannot swallow even water. For last 4 days have been also continuously vomiting blood probably due to some rupture. Many of my organs are not working properly as well.
So I have no necessary nutrients for survival in my body. I found some hope when I called a couple of Hospitals who I noticed may help because of some advancements I saw in there, they can probably may keep me alive and they said I immediately need feeding and repairing for long term because of my BMI - 9.5 and I need to travel for long distance there, so I don't know how I will make it there and also I doubt I will afford it there because it's way too expensive and since I am bedridden I will probably needed to be transported as well.. Since I am alone, so I have to organise everything myself as well in this condition.
So I checked for rough estimates for the hospitals I found who can help with my extremely complicated and rare chronic terminal stage issues. Checked some estimates for ambulance as well since I am completely bedridden now.
My Condition is escalating really quickly. I don't have time left without trying for a treatment. It's really unbearable to tolerate this insane suffering. I am unable to keep myself together anymore. I also don't think I can even go for treatment without any support right now. And also I have to take my mom with me. Since I have no one else.
So I started a medical crowdfunding campaign and asked my mom to help me out to fill out the details. It was really difficult adding my own photo there like this, but noticed it was necessary for verification. Since I cannot afford any treatment which is necessary to keep me fighting against my current illnesses, so probably crowdfunding is my last hope.
