Help a dream come true

I haven't felt actual JOY in decades...but when I look back some of my fondest memories had to do with water (Pretending to be a mermaid for hours in the tub, counting down the days until the Tell City Pool opened and always getting at least 1 slice of pizza before leaving cause it was the best, all the times we went to Tipsaw Lake over the Summertime, Playing Racquetball with my mom and then swimming or exercising in the therapy pool at the Health park~) The only thing I hated about all those times were all the people that were there, I always dreamed of being able to swim somewhere alone or just with family.

At some point I lost that dream but recently I made a new YouTube channel where I wanted to post my poems as ai songs (something new to try to occupy my mind until my brother gets home) but with a new channel comes new recommendations and I think because I had so many poems about sirens (which I didn't really even realize at the time) they started recommending a channel called The Magic Crafter...she's a professional mermaid, I watched a video and was instantly mesmerized...it ignited a spark in me that I thought was long since dead.

I wanted to be a mermaid...I always felt so at home in the water and I have that same yearning to swim in my own private pool as I did when I was a kid...just the thought of it brings a smile to my face. I know EXACTLY how I want it to look, I've had the exact same dream every night for a full week now that I walk through a door in my bedroom out to a 4ft. wide corridor that leads out to the backyard and into a big pool room (with a frosted skylight, porcelain walls and anti slip porcelain floors) I already have the pool picked out and some of the decor I want for the room...

The problem is we're all just getting by and we can't afford to have this built...we're going to be trying to save what money we can but if it's just us it'd likely take us 10 years to get enough money...I have cried over this, my heart hurts with a deep yearning to swim again~

I know this is a long story/rant but I wanted to give you the lowdown on my life... I started receiving disability due to mental issues in 2007 (My Grandma who was my entire world died from doctor's neglect when I was 12, going on 13 and it made me spiral into a deep depression that I never really was able to crawl out of...I lost interest in nearly every single hobby I had and the pain and anger turned to numbness and going through the motions on autopilot~

I was raised by a single mom with Bipolar, who was constantly wanting to move every 6 months or so...so I never really had stability either, we moved from apartment to apartment to apartment (sometimes moving to a different unit in the same complex~) My only real friends at that time were animals and most apartments wouldn't allow them so what little bit of joy I got from that would also get sucked out~

Finally in 2009 my brother got a mortgage for a double wide on a foundation and my mom and I moved in with him and thankfully that's where we have stayed since...however my phobias have gotten to the point where I haven't willingly left the house since moving in (I fear being around people (I have not had many people be nice or show respect in the past), I massively fear bugs (We have a lot of spiders and sometimes wasps and mosquitoes around our place~), I am obese and can't wear shoes (one foot is always super swollen and they try to cramp my toes the moment I try to put a shoe over them :()...I can't stand very long (less than 2 minutes without holding onto something) and I have horrible balance every since I had to be rushed to the E.R. back in I believe 2016? (it was one of those time where I felt forced to leave the house because I couldn't breathe) Turns out somewhere like 97% of my lungs were filled with Carbon Dioxide that I wasn't releasing...I spent 2 weeks in I.C.C. then spent 4 weeks in Rehab relearning how to use my arms, hands, and legs again...my balance never truly came back from that~

My entire day is spent sitting on my bed, doing a few things on my iPad every morning, then listening to YouTube while I play games on my phone trying to earn dribs and drabs of money here and there and trying to keep my brain occupied with something until my brother gets home from work (which is the highlight of my day cause then we can play games like World of Warcraft or 7 Days 2 Die to escape reality until he gets ready to go to bed.

I have a mini fridge and microwave in my bedroom so I spend 24/7 in my room and only ever leave to go to the bathroom...I don't really feel like I have a right to be in the living room (that's usually where my mom and her boyfriend is, and also where my mom's boyfriend's adult adopted daughter sleeps).

I know this would be a huge step to not only elate my mental state but it would also allow me to exercise (being weightless in the water helps joints so much) and swimming as a mermaid would help me strengthen my muscles, AND on top of all of that I actually think it would help me FINALLY be able to lose weight (I've already slowed WAY down on the eating because getting this done is my only thought right now and I want to look better as a mermaid.)

If you can find it in your heart to donate I would be eternally grateful and it would boost my faith in humanity, if you aren't able to help financially then PLEASE share this and try to get the word out...I finally have something that will bring me the joy I've so desperately missed most of my life. 🚨 CRITICAL MEDICAL EMERGENCY: Help Save My Wife From Stage-4 Cancer

ੴ Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh ੴ

Dukh Bhanjan Tera Naam Ji, Dukh Bhanjan Tera Naam..." 🙏🙏

Dear Community,

I am Vikas Kapoor, standing before you in a state of absolute financial and emotional collapse. My wife, Shahin Vikas Kapoor, is fighting an aggressive, life-threatening battle against Stage-4 Breast Cancer (Carcinoma Breast) which has actively spread to her liver, spine, brain, and lungs.

👉 CLICK HERE TO DONATE DIRECTLY: https://www.impactguru.com/fundraiser/donate-shahin-vikas-kapoor?utm\_source=campaigner-app&utm\_medium=campaigner-app\_hometab\_android\_share&utm\_campaign=manual-social-sharing&utm\_content=campaigner&utm\_term=VikasKapoor

🛑 Her Severely Worsening Condition & Medical Update

1.Bleeding Wound: The advanced cancer has caused a deep, open, ulcerated wound on her right breast that has now started bleeding severely, requiring daily professional nursing care.

2.Extreme Weakness: Her weight has dropped drastically to just 29 kg. She is completely bed-bound and in excruciating pain due to critical spinal instability.

3.NGS Report Status: As per our recent hospital visit, our next clinical path forward strictly depends on tracking the new mutation. The sample has been sent, and the official NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) test report is currently awaited.

📊 Official Treatment Cost Breakdown (As per RGCIRC Estimate Letter)

As officially certified by Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCIRC) on 11.06.2026, the immediate 3-month therapeutic phase costs are broken down as:

Cost of Hormonal Therapy: ₹60,000/- per month × 3 months = ₹1,80,000/-

Cost of Targeted Therapy: ₹80,000/- per month × 3 months = ₹2,40,000/-

NGS Testing and Biopsy Block (Urgent Basis): ₹80,000/- (Report Awaited)

Home based Nursing Care (For daily wound dressing): ₹60,000/- per month × 3 months = ₹1,80,000/-

Cost of Chemotherapy: ₹2,00,000/-

Total Estimated Cost of Therapy: ₹8,80,000/- (Note: This does not include the costs of emergency admissions and supportive care).

⚠️ Current Fundraiser Status & Absolute Crisis

Goal Amount: ₹30,00,000

Total Raised on Portal: ₹21,05,829.28

Our Reality: As shown in our active campaign dashboard, we have crossed 70% of our goal. However, every single rupee of these accumulated funds has already been 80% exhausted on past intensive chemotherapies, targeted therapies, and heavy pain management injections.

What you see on the portal is already spent on saving her life so far. Right now, we have zero balance in hand to cover her upcoming ₹8,80,000/- RGCIRC protocol, daily medicine cycles, and basic survival needs for our little baby boy. Though my new job is starting soon, my salary has not begun yet. If treatment breaks now, I will lose her forever.

PLEASE HELP! Donate to Save Amos: Urgent Vet Care Needed, organized by Hannah Goforth

I made this go fund me a few days ago. Amos had started to act better and was eating and drinking and was peeing and now we are worse than where we started. He isnt eating or drinking and he is barely moving. He just keeps crying out and howling. All the vets were close this weekend because of the 4th. I don’t know I’m supposed to do. His breathing is shallow. I don’t even know if he will make it to Monday but I still won’t be able to afford it and I don’t know what they would have to do.
Just please watch out for this in your cats. Specially males. This is so awful. I don’t know how to edit my go fund me to add pictures and i don’t know how to on here. I never wanted to resort to asking for money. I don’t even know how much it is going to take to get him help. I’m just so mad. If this is so common in male cats why couldn’t they fix mine? And he’s on science hill urinary diet and they (Savannah vet clinic) assured me it would help. I don’t know. Thank you for reading this though and please look out for your babies.

Help my Mother Subhra Roy - Battling Septic Shock and Brain Tumor (Grade 3)

Hello Reddit family,

I am Rajdeep Roy and I am reaching out to you for your support. My mother (59 years old) is currently fighting a severe, multi-front health crisis. She is undergoing intensive treatment for a brain tumor, a severe kidney infection, and pneumonia, all compounded by pre-existing diabetes.

Because these critical conditions struck simultaneously, she requires aggressive, continuous medical intervention. On April 29th, she underwent a critical Kidney infection surgery for the Septic Shock. A week after her discharge she was again admitted to hospital due to pneumonia. She is currently in recovery phase. However, the brain tumor operation cannot be delayed further and needs to happen within the next 2 weeks.

The estimated cost for her treatment, specialized procedures, and recovery has already cross over ₹15 lakhs. We have exhausted our insurance coverage and personal savings, but we still face a massive shortfall to cover the remaining hospital bills. We urgently require an amount of ₹10 lakhs to proceed with the surgery.

Any contribution you can make will be greatly appreciated. If you cannot donate, sharing this post within your network would be immensely helpful. Thank you for your support during this difficult time.

Help after mental health hospital

Hello everyone,

My name is Maciej. I was recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital after my ninth hospitalization. For the first time, the treatment has genuinely helped me, and I’m finally experiencing a real positive shift in my condition.

I’m currently waiting for admission to a specialized depression and anxiety treatment center. The waiting time is approximately 3 to 6 months, which leaves me in a difficult transitional stage where I’m no longer in acute care but not yet fully stable.

My past includes long-term trauma, violence, and bullying. These experiences shaped a large part of my mental health struggles, but I want to be clear that I am not defined by them anymore. I’m actively working on rebuilding my life, stabilizing, and moving forward in a more functional and independent direction.

A friend kindly helped me cover my hostel accommodation, so I currently have a safe place to stay. However, I am still struggling with day-to-day survival needs, specifically **food and prescribed medication**.

Specifically, I need help covering my prescribed medication, which includes **Asentra (Sertraline) 200 mg daily, Lamotrigine, Prestarium, Betaxolol, Budesonide for asthma, and liver-protective medication**.

I have also managed to find a job, but I won’t receive my first paycheck until the 10th of next month. This creates a difficult financial gap that I am unable to cover on my own right now.

I’m not asking for long-term support — only help to get through this short but critical transition period while I continue building stability.

If anyone would like proof of my situation, I am more than willing to privately share redacted hospital documentation and discharge papers. I am also open to sharing more about my story if needed.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, and for any kindness or support you may be able to offer.

I'm from Łódź, Poland.

An Airman Came Home From Deployment to Find His Husky Had Been Left to Die Alone

Andrew Beckham did everything he thought he was supposed to do before deploying with the Colorado Air National Guard. He arranged for someone to stay in his home and care for Maverick, his 11-year-old Siberian husky, while he was away.

Instead, the house sitter stole Andrew's vehicle, disappeared with Maverick, and abandoned them both. Nearly a month later, Andrew's Subaru was found in a parking garage in Denver. Maverick was still inside. He had died alone.

The suspect has since been arrested and bailed out of jail, and that doesn't undo what happened or erase the emotional and financial toll Andrew has endured. He lost his best friend while serving our country and returned home to a tragedy no pet owner should ever experience. Authorities say the suspect damaged the owner’s home, took both the vehicle and Maverick before abandoning the car in a gated parking garage where Maverick later died.

If you're able, please consider supporting Andrew's fundraiser or simply sharing his story. Every donation and every share helps. Even if you can't contribute financially, helping more people see this post means a lot.

Thank you for taking a moment to read Maverick's story. He deserved so much better.

My grandmother needs urgent heart surgery we've exhausted our savings and could use any help or advice

Hi everyone,

I'm posting this with a heavy heart. My grandmother, Jayshree Sonavane, is currently hospitalized and needs angioplasty for a serious heart condition (Triple Vessel Disease). She's been admitted at G Plus Heart Hospital in Kalyan, Maharashtra.

We've already used up our family's savings trying to get her the care she needs, and the cardiologists have advised that the procedure can't wait much longer. We're trying to raise ₹4,00,000 to continue her treatment without further delay.

I started a fundraiser through ImpactGuru to try and get there:

Fundraiser: impactguru.com/s/IoyztG

If anyone's able to contribute, even a small amount genuinely helps. And if you can't donate, sharing this with someone who might be able to help means just as much every share gets us a little closer.

She does not have a Aadhar card. Since her only son is no more and her daughters we unaware of the fact.

I'm also open to any advice from people who've navigated similar situations particularly around government health scheme support (Ayushman Bharat/MJPJAY) or NGOs that assist with cardiac treatment costs in Maharashtra. Happy to answer questions in the comments.

Thank you for reading, and for any support you're able to give.

Please help support my best friend during an unimaginable loss..

I am sitting here waiting for my best friend of 10+ years’ mothers’ funeral to begin. In less than 10 years she has lost her dad, brother, and now her mother. She is only 34 years old.

I started a gofundme for her if anyone cares to take a look. Even a share would help tremendously. Thank you.

https://gofund.me/b683f3e37

There are some losses that forever change a person’s life.

Our dear friend, Carla, has experienced more heartbreak than anyone should ever have to endure. In less than ten years, she has lost her father, Carl, her brother, Denny, and now her beloved mother, Connie.

Carla was incredibly close with her family. They were her world. With Connie’s passing, she has now lost the last member of her immediate family. At just 34 years old, she is facing a future no one should have to face alone.

Many people know Carla from the years she spent as a daycare teacher, where she dedicated herself to caring for and nurturing children with patience, kindness, and love. Whether you know her from work, as a friend, or through the community, you know the kind of person she is—compassionate, selfless, and always willing to be there for others.

Now, it’s our turn to be there for her.

As Carla grieves the loss of her mom, we hope to ease some of the financial burden that comes with such a devastating loss. The funds raised will help with funeral and memorial expenses, everyday living costs, and allow her the time and space to grieve without the added stress of immediate financial concerns.

No one can take away the pain of losing Carl, Denny, and now Connie. But together, we can remind Carla that she is not alone. We can surround her with the same love, kindness, and support that she has so freely given to so many throughout her life.

If you are able to donate, no amount is too small. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us support Carla during one of the most difficult times imaginable. Your generosity, compassion, and prayers are deeply appreciated.

Can someone guide me on how to raise funds for the treatment of two strays i have

I am 18 and Currently i have a female dog whose leg was broken and first half of her treatment was sponsored fully by another lady and theyve installed rod on her legs and i recently contacted the hospital for consulting for removal of rod they said it might cost near 4-5k as they have to xray and there is some swelling arround the part rod was installed and i dont have any money on me for the treatment of her as most of the money i had which i had was spent on buying medicines for her after the first half of the treatment. I also have a Cat which i met yesterday on the roadside i took him home with me he has a broken front leg and he might also have problem in his jaw as he is not closing it properly and keeps his tongue out of the times, I am also looking for someone to adopt him who can actually take good care of him.

I have several questions regarding the fundraising

  1. What do i need to add here for the fundraising like the medical bills or just the picture of injured baby

  2. Do i get the babies checked first and then ask for money based on the medical bills or do i first get the money and then get him checked.

If i have to do it the first way how do i manage the money i have to pay to the vet as I dont have any on me right now.

  1. If i do it the second way if the treatment costs more than the required money do i have to give it back to the people in the same percentage they donated or i can just buy food for the babies from it.

Help Vanilla defeat Neurological FIP

She is 9 years old and is struggling. I wish I could write something better here but I was never good at that. Please help me treat my cat.

I am from Turkey and I know getting the medication is going to be a real struggle. With the unreasonable taxes and with the government making it harder to import products from abroad because of the financial situation in this country I really do feel hopeless.

But I am not going to give up. I can't lose my Vanilla. Please help me save her.

Help me get back to the place where I call home

Hi my name is penni and I am a transgender woman, however my stepdad didn’t agree nor like it at all. So on the 22th my stepdad assaulted me by shoving me against the wall violating while talking about how disrespectful I was (when he previously said that being trans was a fantasy and talking about how my friends were brainwashing me.) 5 mins he had violently shoved my upper body onto the bed and threatened to punch my teeth out while talking about how he was the king of my town. While this was going on, my mom watched me shoved against the wall and didn’t anything to stop. I barely got the will power to call my friend and tell them what happened before they call the police. 2 hours later I was able to leave that household forever. From Tuesday to Saturday I stayed at my friend’s house for the time being. However on 28th, I had to move from Virginia to Pennsylvania with my biological dad’s place with the goal of getting $5000 overall to go back to Virginia so I can be with my friends. Please help me reach that goal

Help a family of 6 in Gaza survive!

Hi, I’m posting on behalf of my friend Fidaa and her family - she’s been having technical difficulties posting so I’m making this post for her and her husband Hashem and their children.
She wrote this and has asked me to share it:

I am writing from Gaza.

My family and I have been living through extremely difficult circumstances. I am trying to raise funds to help cover essential needs, including food, medicine, and basic necessities for my family.

If you are able to help, even a small donation can make a real difference. If you cannot donate, sharing my campaign with others would also mean a lot to us.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
Chuffed campaign here

She’s been having issues with her internet and getting into reddit and figuring out the interface, but I’ll tag her when she can find her username again.

I’ve been talking with her for about a year now and used to manage her fundraiser, though due to personal financial circumstances I’ve been unable to for a while. She is a mother of 4 middle and high school aged children and is doing whatever she can to support them and her husband while also struggling with chronic pain herself and effectively dragging herself along without meds most of the time to take care of her family. Please help her out so she doesn’t have to be doing all of this on her own!

Thank you all so much!
